All these robot and AI memes may be meant in good fun (though I am sure some of you genuinely believe it) but they are very disrespectful to an actual person.
This forum is negative right now and a small number of you are barely containing your incandescence, so it's already a pretty hostile environment for Nancy to be stepping into.
On top of the fact that some of you are recently created accounts but who already seem very familiar with the forum culture suggests to me that you are pseudonyms, potentially of previously banned posters, so Nancy *should* be wary of those people. They may in fact have concluded that you are formerly banned accounts and are giving you a second chance, but they don't want you to mistake potential willingness to forgive for weakness.
So, ask yourself, are there really any questions that you think Nancy can answer that you haven't already asked Ben or others and please start treating this place and the employees who are forced to work here with respect.
These forums have always been hostile. Losing Shan and other WRG staffers hurt. Anger is part of the grieving process.
Coming after people you disagree with will never improve the tone of the forums to the extent that you wish. It only reinforces the negativity.
My hope is that if Nancy is offended by the AI/robot comments, she’ll say so such that we’ll know to back off from them. Though, to be honest, it would probably be more fun if she leaned into it.
Can you honestly imagine anything they might say that will assuage your fears. They'll assuage them over time by delivering stuff when they do. Or they'll never assuage them and you'll learn to let go. You've already been told that the update has been pushed back to April, what more do you need to know that Nancy can reasonably answer? Nancy is not the CEO of TP, she's just an agent of the company and she is clearly completely new to the game.
That's fine, the game has less resources behind it. We know that. That's a double edged sword, it means that we need to learn to lower our expectations, but it also means that the game is on a lower cost base which means it likely survives longer than it would otherwise. The game is going to end. Nancy doesn't know any more about that than you do, because who in their right mind would tell her that if they don't want us to know. All you have to do is satisfy yourself that you're ok with it eventually ending and then deciding does it still make sense for you to spend money.
Personally, I'm fine with it, I left and came back so all of this new time is gravy and I am still benefitting from resources I bought and had deprecated to zero 2 years ago. So now I am just paying for stuff I want with the knowledge that it could all go away at anytime, and I'm fine with that. The thing is, this is always the way it has been, nothing has actually changed about my lack of information on how long the game lasts. If anything, seeing the company cut its costs is a (short term) encouragement to me.
All will be revealed in time, harassing someone who has no choice but to be here for their job is not going to change anything.
The whole point of this is to determine authenticity because it’s important to know the extent of untruths our relationship with the game people is. If they base our relationship on untruths and are fine in doing that, then why should we believe that the game is “doing fine” and there’s nothing to worry about?

Thank you Scott. The state of the game is important in decision making. Am I going to spend hundreds of dollars getting the brakes fixed on a car when the engine is going to go out in a month?

I just spent $4 on Monthly, so I hope STT keeps going for years & years ... since I am about 4 years in Honor Debt before IMMing my cards!

A review of multiple profiles using the same IP address in the last few months and banning them would make things much better in the forum.

But this is nonsense because there is absolutely no way that you can do that. You are also victims of confirmation bias. You are reading into whatever they say what you expect to hear. Confirmation bias is rampant these days and I am not saying that any of us are immune, but I imagine that there is literally nothing that Nancy or any employee of TP/WRG can say that you won't see as some sort of negative. So, they say as little as possible, and who can blame them?
Hello Nancy. I don’t recall seeing any in game messages about the Honour Sale nor this week’s event. Are these a thing of the past now and we should check the forum, Twitter etc rather than in game for announcements about the game?

We have been having some issues with in-game messaging, but we are working on a solution. In the meantime, we recommend checking the forum, Twitter, and other official channels for announcements about the game. We'll let you know once we get them back.
Y'all need to chill, lol. If Nancy is feeling harassed by a few wiseacres like me making silly posts accusing her of being a robot, then she definitely shouldn't be moderating an Internet forum, even one as relatively even-tempered as this one.
Many of us just happened to note that her comments read like they were created by ChatGPT. 😜 But I doubt that anyone but a few outliers actually believe that there's not a real person behind it. (Even if they may be using AI to craft their responses.) And although I can only speak for myself, I felt like the spirit of our posts was generally playful. And I expected they'd be taken in that spirit, as well. After all, this is a gaming forum, not a forum for the discussion of serious socio-political issues or anything. We like to have fun here -- or at least we did, back when I used to post in the forums a lot more regularly.
It's a tumultuous time here, and it's reasonable for folks to be on edge. But that just makes it all the more important to keep discussion civil and constructive.
This doesn't mean folks can't joke around, but if someone doesn't enjoy the jokes being directed at them . . . you drop it. Doesn't matter if you'd enjoy that humor directed at you - you have to respect what the subject feels. Just common decency, online or off.
At the start of this thread a lot of folks commented on the big shoes Nancy was stepping into - and they're right. But there's a lot to learn, and it takes time to pick it all up. The best thing we can do to help is be supportive - of Nancy, and eachother.

Thanks Nancy. Feels a bit weird without the in-game messages and I hope you get it sorted soon. It is adding to my general unease about the game and the state of its health, exacerbated by players missing out on the community 10 pack pull from the last event.
In the meantime anyone want to guess what the username/password combo might be that someone or probably “forgot” to handover in the great WRG layoffs…

Exactly. If it were me at the receiving end of all the jests, I'd come back with a "Beep - boop - bleep" response or something. 🤖
Or even better, respond to our lighthearted jabs about being a robot with something Trek-related...
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.
