This game needs refresh/revamp in the worst way.

We seem to be doing the same old things day after day, week after week and it's really gotten stale. I like the game, but it seems more like I'm doing my daily chores instead of playing something for fun. Here's some of my suggestions for improvement:

1. If you get all frozen crew on a behold, offer an option to refresh for new choices or get a citation instead.
2. Overhall the gauntlet so that the stats actually matter and aren't there just to be frustrating.
3. Increase the honor given for dismissed crew, especially super-rare and legendary. I bought a 10,000 honor behold on the last sale where all the choices were frozen, so I had to dismiss for only 550 honor. Suggestion one would also fix this.
4. Give us the ability to freeze unused ships just like crew... it would cut down on clutter in the shipyard.
5, NEW MISSIONS... we haven't had any of those in ages.

These are probably just wishful thinking, but at least we can get some ideas out there. Anybody else have any suggestions?

Apparently when v10 comes there will be something a bit like new episodes, but super hard needing 5/5 crew with temporary buffs from special new items.

    They’re doing fancy new things.
I do believe these new things will actually come out.
They’ll just came out 3 months late and then they’ll have to spend another 3-6 months squashing unintended bugs.

I disagree on the begolds. I got 17 begolds + citations on top of the daily ones. I prefer getting 4 begolds over 1 & a cite
    But that's just me

Voyages are a doddle to do now thanks to the search function
  • I suspect (and hope) they're doing procedurally generated nodes for the Away Team feature, which could also probably be used in an Expedition-like event type. If WRG is reading this DON'T HAVE ANY NEW SOURCES OF REPLICATOR RATIONS OR TRAINERS! o:)

I don't think that there is an active player left in the game who can or would disagree with you in respect of any of the points you have raised. Indeed, many have raised those same points themselves, or ones similar to them, many times previously on these forums.

And still those same points remain with us.

I will add that WRG need to COMMUNICATE OFFICIALLY with the player base MUCH MORE OFTEN and MUCH MORE EFFECTIVELY than they have done so heretofore.

That won't require either armies of adept coders working 24/7/52 or ₡RaZ$¥ ฿iGs Mto₦i€$ to put into place.

I'll agree to that. The glimpse they gave with the April roadmap was a good start. Can we have some update to that, @WRG Ben
Interested in being part of the TLA fun?

This thread devolved quickly. It is worth WRG knowing that a subset of players are getting bored though.

One issue with updating a lot of things in Timelines is that we can solve their problems faster than WRG can develop them. What WRG would be wise to focus on is things that can auto generate challenges for us.

I’ll throw in a couple of easier suggestions aside from my above comment on improved communication (which should cost 💲0).

    1. Remember that power creep doesn’t have to be limited to just voyages. Pump out a bunch of powerful gauntlet crew with unique skill orders. Just don’t gate them to gauntlet or voyages.
    2. Wherever possible, don’t let players feel like they’ve finished the game. Remove artificial caps (we needed captain level 100 years ago) where possible (this goes for achievements too).
    3. Get rid of dailies. Instead to keep up activity levels, do more smaller types of events (objective events, mini events, reruns, etc.).

With better drop rates for hard to get items, please.

The game is on auto pilot, probably with significant portions of it run by ai prompts.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. AI is not remotely capable of that, and probably won't be for years to come.

Anyway, the answer to the thread is the same as it always is - this is a seven year old mobile game that in the past year has undergone more staff and (presumably) resource cuts. WRG is doing what they can; the problem is they don't have the resources or manpower to make significant changes.

If you really believe that the absolute pinnacle of ai performance is on worldwide display with the smokescreens of openai chatgpt or some of the other freely, easilly accessible demonstrations of this technology, then you are troubled severely.

I can guarantee you that every gaming studio is utilizing some amount of ai to run the normal day to day. If they aren’t, to be polite, it would be cost ineffective.

One thing I’d point out here is that DB/WRG didn’t seem to be run in the most cost-effective way.

Everything in this thread is wishful thinking.

I agree with all of it, but wrg does not.

The game is on auto pilot, probably with significant portions of it run by ai prompts.

There will be no renaissance, refresh, rehash, rebuild or upgrades. Ever.

    Walk away.

And yet you don't. You come here and declare the sky is falling every day. Some day you will be right, but until then you just look peevish. And honestly you seem to *want* the game to end. I would assume that most of the rest of us are happy for it to continue. And we do so knowing that it's end is inevitable, just like all good things.

This is just a semantic argument. All firms are increasing the automation of tasks, but the prevalence of what most would term AI is still small. Which is not to say that TP aren't using some, STT seems like a decent place to deploy it in both the story writing and the artwork as a way to speed up the development. But everyone here is just speculating, and when it comes down to it our individual speculations will be bias towards our worldview.

I dont think ive been saying the sky is falling, just that the game devs are not trying anymore.

I dont think its their fault either. What is the incentive to try? If they bust out an awesome new game mode that keeps the 50k people playing this game for an extra 6 months, who cares?

Im just trying to tell people to lower their expectations.

You seem to think little of the people here if you don't think we already have low expectations. All you are succeeding in doing is lowering our expectations of you.
