ie which crew is a good candidate to raise for Continuum.

Too sick to be starting anything, so just asking sincerely.

Can we get pics of these Crew with more than four Slots? Because all Crew should have four Slots.

Should look just like "unfinished" Crew who are not FE to Immortalize.....

  • Sorry, I misunderstood the question. Laborer Spock etc. have more than 4 ENG quipments.

Demo man has only 4. All ENG crew FE/FF I own have 3 to 4 slots.

    1. Fully Fused & Fully Equipped (FF/FE) crew are able to be used in CM. Each & every eligible crew has 4 slots to which "boosts" (quipment) can be added. i.e. a crew can be boosted up to 4 times at any given point in time
    2. There are many types of quipment, most add to one skill, and some add to 2 skills. some are specific to particular crew or a trait etc.
    3. Slots are opened by using crew in CM, where each use give you 25 "points". Slots open when a crew gains 100, 200, 500 and 1300 points
    4. Bigbook.app will show for any particular crew which quipment they are able to use

I think there is a bit of a mistranslation here. Based on the comment, they are trying to use the best ENG crew they have, but it won't always clear skillchecks on the highest difficulty. Demo Man Scotty is not immortalized yet, but they are asking if there is any better before using cites.
    Also, Mururou is asking
    A) Do any ENG crew have more than 4 quipment slots?
NO. Demo Man Scotty, with all 4 quipment slots unlocked and 4 slots filled with ENG quipment, will have the highest ENG scores in the game.
    2) Do any MED crew have more than 5 quipment slots to challenge the similar one-skill MED McCoy?
NO. McCoy, like all 1490 crew in the game, only have 4 quipment slots. Also like Demo Man, with all 4 slots unlocked and filled with quipment, Bones will have the highest MED score in the game.
    C) can non-FF/FE (immortalized) crew use CM/quipment?
NO. It is only for immortalized crew.

Now, if the universal translator is further broken and they aren't asking about quipment slots, but rather unique or special quipment, then I see the question. Generally, certain crew with racial traits (Bajoran, Vulcan) get special quipment. They provide certain skills that may or may not help your crew. Using BigBook.app or Datacore.app will show you the available quipment for each crew that you can use to figure out what works best for your particular available crew.

I'm hoping there is a translation issue. The OP is probably asking for crew with equipable quipment. All crew only have 4 slots.

Of course even that doesn't really answer things either. It doesn't matter how many equipable quipment someone has. They can only use 4 at once.

The question to ask, what crew have the best skill boosts from the 4 quipment they can use.

The answer is still Big Book. The beta data core has some answers, but even that is not really what you want for this question.

I absolutely cannot judge anyone for misunderstanding something. I get stuff wrong all the time!

If you use the above crew, then it will cost Quipment just to bring them up to the level of Demo Man Scotty, or Dr 'Bones' McCoy.

If players want to suggest new Quipment for specific crew, then there is a pinned thread for this.

It still won't change that Scotty, McCoy and Tribble Captain are the best for their skills, or that they are also the most cost effective.

Now if we had specific pieces of Quipment for those crew, it would need less Continuum resources to Quip them well enough for Continuum, and their skills would be stronger.
  • I'm just getting into the Continuum Missions now, and realizing how much work I'm going to have to do just to unlock the Quipment slots for my top crew.

How much Quipment/how many slots have you found need to be available to clear Epic? From the screenshots above, it looks like it's 2-3 slots depending on the crew.

Right now, I *think* my team is:

Command: Kai Winn (though I'm tempted to pick up Captain Tribble, is it worth it?)
Diplomacy: Prof Sato (though maybe my FE/FF Ilon Tandro is a stronger choice?)
Engineering: Ahdar Ru'afo (though I think my next two cites are going to just FF Demo Man Scotty)
    Security: High Roller Sisko
    Medical: Dr. 'Bones' McCoy
    Science: Pascal Fullerton

Does that seem like a reasonable team to work on, or are there better choices? I've been at this awhile, I have 212 FE/FF 5* Crew, so plenty of options. But I don't want to burn time unlocking Quipment slots for crew at the top of the page when there are stronger options I'm not seeing.

In terms of just doing Continuum Missions, all those are good choices; with the exception of Fullerton and Winn, I've maxed them all. Captain Tribble is very useful with these missions (he's also a great daily shuttle card), so would recommend. But he's not essential. My strategy has been to get Continuum crew leveled first, so I have options if a difficult node ever comes up down the road. Those are typically your daily shuttlers too, so there's a side benefit. I have progressed to starting to work on specific voyage or gauntlet crew. It's a long process; don't feel you have rush.

As a general rule of thumb, you'll need at least one slot unlocked for Elite and two for Epic. That will depend heavily on the other bonuses you've unlocked in the game. For the last mission in Epic, you might even need them maxed; that's obviously the hardest mission. But be strategic and careful; don't rush.
Playing Since: 2018-02-26 Level: 99 Fleet: ÷ Battleship Yamato, Squad Leader & Fleet Officer; 17hr, 20min Voyage /wo Refuel; 1575 Immortalized Crew; Highest Event Rank: 8 (God of Thunder)

The single skill crew can easily handle epic with two quipment, other crew are probably going to struggle, especially on the last couple of missions where they'll almost certainly need three.

I would suggest you consider crew that have specific Quipment that really gives a great boost to a specific skill. The screenshot that follows highlight two Quipments that greatly boost Diplomacy and Security. Varanti and Sisko the Emissary are a couple of prime targets for Diplomacy and will outshine the likes of Sato, and there are a number of Klingons that will sit on top of Security ladder.

It's hard to tell without knowing your crew, but you need to focus on klingon/bajoran/vulcans as those are the ones which will give you the best buffs with quipment

Cmd - Pah wraith Keiko, Kai Win, Lt Spock, Elder, COP Sisko, Captain Tuvok, Kalar Pike
Dip - varani, returning Saru, emissary sisko. Sato may be good to start, but isn't in the long run
Eng - Ryn, CE Rutherford, Tobin o'brien, Amelia Earheart, TD Reno, Agimus & Demo Scotty of course
Med - Scotty, King Ridley, Lady Chapel,
Sci - Kenneth EMH, Albert Macklin, Nel Apgar, Ancient Humanoid, Picard & #1
