Pretty good event for me, never hit the 4k shuttles, but managed to get everything without doing the Galaxy part.
About an hour before the end of phase one, I maxed out my shuttle missions and ran most of them on time boosts to get them to 90 minutes runs, and then my final 4 (all of which were very south of 70% as I don't think the bonuses apply after phase 2 starts, at least they don't visually) on 9 hour runs overnight, and three came in successful and one failed.
Got the last Threshold and then spent all the chrons I've saved up for Phase 2 on levelling up crew.
I think the main problem people have with shuttles is not understanding each probability of success is individual, and not cumulative.
Yes, if you send off an infinite number of shuttles all at 99%, 99% will return a successful. If you send off 10, you've no guarantee any will return as successful as the averaging out of odds is over an infinite number of results.
When I martingale at roulette, I know that when I stick my money on black and it's come in on black the previous 4 times, it's still slightly under a 50% chance if it lands on black again, and the same chance of it landing on red. There's no greater chance it'll land on red.
pRNG adds complexity in that it emulates random chance rather than being actual random chance.
I had a tough time getting to 4K but got there Sat Night and stayed there until Sundays bore fest started. I collected all the theresholds at phase one, do I want any more Captain Janeways as I already had her FFFE? NO! Do I want another 1/5* to level? NO!
I am enjoying leveling crew and not at all bothered by Pappa Smurf (T'Kuvma) hes a Crap 5* and I don't see me bothering with him after the event. I might even convert him to honour so is my disappointment with this event and two back to back galaxy hybrids.
Honestly, I could only get to 2'750 VP shuttles ONCE in the whole 60-ish hours I had sent shuttles (including overtimes). The rest was 2'250 VP and even four 1'800 VP ... the fail rate of 90%ish shuttles was outrageously high. I have never had such a bad shuttle event like this one. I barely made it to 130K with the last four double shuttles in overtime. I already prepared for galaxying the last few thousand VP's, but then got that one 2x2250 shuttle successful that I needed to evade galaxy.

Holy cow, the stuff I'm seeing in this thread. Let's ignore Data Collection 101 and just point fingers at DB with conspiracy theories or go with our memory or "feelings."
What KNakamura is putting out is like two "levels" above everything else so far. You guys need to do a lot better to even come close to questioning those results at a serious level.
Don't get me wrong, they make OK stories or anecdotes, but we're past those now.
lets be honest: except for the fanatics out there we all know that the shuttle percentages, especially during faction events, are nothing but a bunch of hooey. But this weeks was even for DB standards the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in my life.
I enjoy how first you set up how you are being a truth teller with the "lets be honest" which then also implies any one who disagrees with your opinion is just not being honest. I then enjoyed how you directly say only fanatics will disagree with what everyone else knows to be 'reality' by saying 'we all know'.
Lets be honest: except for the eternally cynical out there we all know that reasonable people will want to look at hard information to make up their own minds and not just blindly jump on to something because their feelings dictate to them a conclusion.
About normal, though most missions didn't match the event crew. Nothing new there.
Yeah. Whoever is creating these things is crazy. All Sec, Eng, and Med shuttles in an event with all Cmd, Sci, Dip characters is ridiculous.
Maybe the irony is that we play because we’re Star Trek fans, those hopeful idealists that like to think things will get better when we raise valid concerns about fairness and balance, etc and we forget that DB’s greed openly mocks the values espoused by the franchise they have a license for.
