I got a 5* Kahn on my second day of playing - sometime in March 2016 and have not had a single top row result since. I only do the credit pull now but for a few months when ship schematics were important for the replicator I did the 10 dil pull too.
Been playing dabo daily since the past 10 months, sometimes (at the beginning, not since months now) the 10dil spin and on occasion 30dil. Have never hit top row. Now that I have all those ships, replicator rations are plentiful, and the items don't seem to match up with my crew very well - debating not even doing the 5k credit spin considering that credits are often a limiting point for me now.
I give it the mindless 5k single spin daily, nothing more. Won top row once in 1.5 years. That's almost 3,000,000 credits. Don't feed the monster dilithium, you'll be sorry.
I've been spinning daily since the Dabo was first widely released....never once did I score anything on the top row...until yesterday. My first spin and I hit the jackpot! To be frankly honest - Soong wasn't a crew member I really had any interest it, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth when it comes to this game.
That being said - It won't change the way I play. Still will only spin once, maybe twice depending on what the rewards are.
Never hit a top row in a year and a quarter. North of 500 spins altogether. I've come to doubt that the odds are even the 1% the wiki says.
I used to just tell myself it was still good for schematics, but I've now maxed all the original ships, and since DB won't add any of the newer ones to the loot table, the middle row is basically useless as well now.
I've gotten the top row 4 times. My first two Coffee Janeways were from there. I also got Holonovel Doctor and Bridge Troi. Both were when they were being offered as daily logins.
I used to do 10 DIL spins but I stopped awhile ago. The occasional voyage extension is a better use of DIL.
I long ago gave up doing more than the credit rolls on dabo. The quality of this side game has declined massively since it was first introduced. Originally the game actually generated items that you needed for your crew to form the majority of the first and second row items, there might have been one or two ‘turkeys’ on the bottom row that you didn’t need but most of the rewards were useful.
Looking at todays’s selection for me there is one item on the top row that is an item I need for one of my crew and the two 4* crew on the top row would fuse with incomplete crew in my roster, but everything else on the entire board is completely useless to me, it even managed to pick schematic collections for ships I already have fully levelled, none of the items on rows 1&2 are required by any crew in my roster.
Agreed. When I first started playing I would get a crew member once a month maybe, but since they changed things about 6 months ago and seemed to lower the odds of that happening, I haven't gotten a single crew since (and I've used the first few dilithium spins on a few occasions over the holidays too.)

I thought the change was over a year ago, lol. I started October of 2016, and have gotten a character one.. Mirror Regent Worf.
Along these lines, is it just me,or does the second row seem heavily tilted to the right? I seem to net a large quantity of 450 schems, but I don't recall ever hitting the 300 schems on the left most slot.
I've been playing for over a year now and it's still tited to the right. For today, I got the borg cube and the bounty, both of which were completed months ago. On the right is the constitution class which is barely at level 7 of 8. My ship list looks the same, a lot of 5* ships completed, very few 3* completed.
EDIT ADDED -
I went and looked at the wiki and my hunch was right. Odds of hitting the far left middle (300 schems) 1.02%. Odds of hitting the right 2 (450 schems each) 6.85% and 10.92% I suspect that the real odds are even more slanted to the right, but I have no proof.

You are correct, they changed the format back in either July or August of 2016. They used have prizes such as faction transmissions before that. I used to play about three spins a day before that and could hit the top row once every two to three weeks. I started tracking this 10/8/2016 when I hadn't hit in a long time. I finally hit the top row yesterday. That was 455 days, about 1300 spins. I'm still calling shenanigans on the wiki stats that say 1.28 % chance. It was showing that 6 months ago, I don't think it has been updated recently. That would be a question for one of the wiki admins.
On the plus side, it is a refreshing change for your day when going thru the motions of logging spins and then thinking, wait a minute something weird just happened, I saw a characters face flash by. Then you see this...

If you have 1300 spins worth of data, then by all means upload it and it can be used to augment the stats in the wiki. But keep in mind, you need to record not only which spin (5k credit or 10 dil spin) but also which row and which column you received. If your tracking was that detailed, then the wiki can be updated to include it.
I made that mistake once because I was curious.
The very first month I played I got a Mintakan Riker. That is the ONLY time I have made it above the middle row. I also think that is how they hook you.
DON'T DO IT

I could provide that data for 916 spins. I lost about 4 months of data (the old dead HD, failed backup thing) which is why I had to estimate total spins based on average spins per day. Unlike crew and drop test info, that portion of the wiki doesn't seem to allow uploads. Attached is a pic of a portion of my excel sheet showing the totals.
The top line indicates spin 1, spin 2, etc If someone can either tell me how to enter this or would like go ahead and enter it themselves, that sounds good to me.
I'd like to add to this thread (in which I have previously taken sides against DB - possibly because of my ire at the Portal and Mirror Bev issues)
I was talking to a Newbie today and they were so pleased at the Dabo "I got a better ship! I didn't realise how crap the Stargazer was until I could 3* the missions I'd previously only been able to complete"
My point is... Dabo is pretty crap for a higher level player but we should remember how excited we were at getting schematics for the Bounty or the Cube first time around. Obviously they now go straight into the replicator but for Newbies they're a real prize.
I started playing around Aug 2016. In the first week I got super rares from the top row 4 or 5 times (it was 18months ago lol) So for a month or so I was doing the 5k spin, and first two dil spins, but when I noticed I didn't the top row after that first week, I dropped to just the 5k and one dil spin. For about 8-12 months now I have only done the 5k spin as not only am I not hitting the top row, but usually the bottom row has only one or two items that I need anyway.
Actually clearing the board was 4k dil cheaper during the promo. Better than 25% off.
Gotta wonder how many people cleared it for that price.
I have done it to get Orion Vina. I managed to get her before two of the other top row rewards so I prolly saved some thousands of dilithium not having to take those two extra spins. I believe it cost me around 10000 dil. DABO!!!
Yes Dabo is nearly worthless. Every day I see super rares and a legendary I know I will not get. I have tried for months stopping the dabo wheel myself and didnt get any top row item. So then I went for months letting the dabo wheel stop on its own and again nothing from top row. I have come to the point where I dont even think it is worth the 5000 credits to spin it once. I have even tried spinning it multiple times when there were good items or crew I wanted and I blew several hundred dilithium. I then thought, hmm, I could spin more, but then I thought what's the point? So that I could just lose thousands of dilithium and not get anything I needed unless I cleared the store? Dabo needs serious reworking or it needs the Nevada Gaming Commission to check its odds cause it just feels like an unregulated video poker machine that never pays out.
I hope this doesnt sound to prideful, but once i did 5 spins....got all 5 of the middle row items
I only do 5k Federation credit turning, there were very few cases in which I invested Dilithium, I read somewhere on this forum a loooong time ago that it was like betting/gambling and I ceased wasting my Dilithium, but one of the few times I did, I got Enterprise-E Picard after 3-5 turns.

You realize everything in this game is "like betting/gambling"? Send out a shuttle, roll the dice to see if it succeeds. Farm a mission, roll the dice to see which items you get. Buy a premium portal, pick your character out of a hat.
Dabo happens to be especially BAD odds, which is why you shouldn't throw DIL at it, but it's no more/less gambling than anything else in the game.

Yes. Do you really think they are monitoring the forum and tweaked the odds for you on a holiday weekend?
