This was already on the wiki but I figured I would post anyway.
Pulled him off a dilema of course. He’s easier to get than Guinan or Worf because u only need 2 dilemmas.
Am a big enterprise fan but didn’t recognize him. Oh well, he’s added to the pile.

One of the good guys!
Helping develop and build WMD to wipe out Earth 🌏 doesn’t make him a “good guy” in my book... his change of heart doesn’t absolve him of Trip’s Sister and much of Florida...
Pretty sure he spoke out against the weapon and tried to slow it down. Also boys with Gralik who definitely helped out.
I could be wrong though
Jannar may have had moral reservations about the construction of the weapon, but he swept them aside with a "better their world than ours" mentality. He said it was best not to think about how many innocents the weapon would kill, adding, "What we do is for... our children's future. Remember that."
Yeah no matter how many I exterminate it's all good cause I helped my folks. Guy is all heart.
I think he was against the bio-weapon development later on but OK (at least originally) with the “Death Star”... So nuke the humans until they glow is OK but biogenetic weapons are “Against the Khitomer Convention”...
Insectoid for me... heck even a baby hatchling would be a nice avatar to go with my tribble.
I loved MoO (the original)... I thought that MoO2 didn’t play as well as they sacrificed game play for fancy 3D graphics... The Arachni in Mass Effect are pretty cool too. As are the Arachnids in Starship Troopers (the original Heinlein book... not the crappy movie)
Insectoid Lives Matter !!!
MOO II is a better entry point for new players as it is actually an easier run up and the difficulty meter actually is a wider range. It just suffers jump the shark gameplay for an end game unless you go the diplo win.
Initial point being the Xindi are just a rip off of MOO in any case, Stellar Converter and all.
What races were exterminated as part of the run up to 3 again? The Alkari/Arboreal?
Yeah... love me an extra large class M colony world protected by Artemis Nets and all... then send a big Stellar Converter fleet to Orion and kick the guardians Butt...
But seriously, what are the odds of six completely different species obtaining sentience and technology at the same time on the same planet and then not wiping each other out (Avians notwithstanding). I would guess it’s substantially lower than hitting the top row on Dabo all four times with four pulls. Or maybe about the same as getting 10 x 5* behold on one portal pull...
Edited: Avians... not Arborals
1.Intro music
2. Final Two Episodes
3. Xindi destroyed Florida instead of Cork
Enterprise is a great show once you get into it definetly should have gotten a couple more seasons
1. I love the intro music, but to each his or her own.
2. Yes.
3. Do you suppose if the Xindi had taken out Washington DC instead of Florida, the humans would have said, "Thanks"? 😉
3. Florida has: Disneyworld, Universal Studios, Stone Crabs, and nice winter weather. DC has... politicians... yes please and thank you...
Arboreals are humanoids. So yes your first statement was correct he was the other humanoid on the council along with Degra. Both were humanoid, just one was arboreal and one was primate.
Intro music is a bad cover. Look up Rod Stewarts original rendition.
Trek should have original music.
While the lyrics are apropos to Enterprise, I'm not sure the original is that much of an upgrade over the slavishly-faithful cover. I guess it ultimately depends on how much one enjoys power ballads and/or Rod Stewart.
And while I mostly agree that Trek should have original music, I've always found it to be kind of odd that Trek tends to ignore any musical developments post 1960. I personally enjoyed the inclusion of the Beastie Boys in the first JJ Trek film and the rock songs included in First Contact.
Slavishly faithful? Wow. Seriously? Comparatively speaking the cover is almost devoid of vocal emotion compared to RS's version. It's arrangement maybe, but RW performs like folks I see at the bar for Karaoke. Like he needs to read the teleprompter. My wife calls it the Star Trek Retirement Party theme. And how is that more modern - doing an adult contemporary cover? Its like your grandad doing the Macarena cause its closer to your generations music than his. Of course cheap sitcoms get covers, like Bosom Buddies.
And I would have loved more modern music, though being the only person at Opening Day for First Contact to know who Steppenwolf was kinda put a damper on my hopes on that front....
The Enterprise theme is even more painful when compared to themes of other franchises/series that were contemporary or near contemporary such as Babylon 5 (especially Season 3), Farscape, or the musically confusing Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. (You've not lived until you've been at a con when the Farscape fans actually do their fan dance to the Farscape theme.)
Incidentally the 'classical' soundtracks of DS9 and Voyager are not really of a bygone era as 'classical' compositions still exist to this day, and folks like John Williams are still in demand for theatrical works.
At least an original classical composition would have taken a lil more elbow grease than a phoned in cover.
I think you get the pun of the year award. Oy! Lil too much born to be wild to feel good about wearing that costume... and no magic carpet ride either.
I may have heard the Rod Stewart version before, but if I did it wasn't memorable. So I listened to it first and other than the raspy, Christian-Bale-as-Batman-esque vocal performance it was practically the same sonic profile as the cover. (Note: the first RW cover version, not the re-arrangement from S3? on.
I will grant that the RS version is superior to the re-arranged RW cover.)
I will re-iterate that I guess it depends on how much one appreciates power ballads and/or Rod Stewart. I mean, it was cut for the Patch Adams film, right? Corny is as corny does. It was adult contemporary rock in the 80's, so not much of a surprise that it remains as much in the cover.
That's actually what makes it even more appropriate to Enterprise, in that it was a boring, if well-intentioned retread of past glories. Bakula as lead and a Rod Stewart cover from the 80's is a match made in branding heaven hell.
As to what makes it modern, as opposed to say, Vic Fontaine, is the more prominent rock instrumentation. That, somewhat sadly, is at least some kind of progress. Like you say, it pales in comparison to B5, Andromeda, and Farscape. Farscape's music (and quite possibly the rest of the series) is in many ways reminiscent of Original Series Trek in that it did something different and kind of alien, for lack of a better word. B5 kind of gets there, but not as successfully to my ears, since I can hear the budget limitations.
My personal modern sci-fi musical touchstone would be the Battlestar Galactica remake + Caprica. Great use of different instrumentation and modern production techniques. Significantly more memorable than any Trek cues, aside from main themes, from TNG onwards. I wasn't particularly impressed with the overall film, but Bladerunner 2049 had a great soundtrack. And Daft Punk doing Tron was inspired.
While "classical" is problematic as a catch-all for symphonic instrumentation, modern or not, most classical today is a retread of Romantic and Impressionist-era compositions. I love John Williams' soundtrack work more often than not, but he's basically the Dr. Dre of film music--he's got a great ear for pulling snippets from past composers and re-purposing them.
If we have to maintain the classical sound palette, we could at least expand into some Schoenberg, Stockhausen, Glass, or Reich (heck, John Cage, Sun Ra, or Coltrane with string instrumentation). Personally I think it'd be interesting to get Carl Craig and Moritz Von Oswald together with say, Max Richter, Esperanza Spalding, and Clint Mansell. The Discovery rave could have had much higher quality techno in this scenario.
I can see what's wrong with These Are The Voyages, but what issue could you have with Terra Prime? To me that was one of ENT's best episodes, and the episode I consider the true finale of the ENT series.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.

Thanks for that — I was wondering what his FF stats would be, since I just picked him up the other day. Was hoping for 800+ base stats, but I guess he'd hit that on DIP with my starbase bonus, at least. Still not sure it's enough to save him from the scrap heap.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.
