The Enterprise theme is even more painful when compared to themes of other franchises/series that were contemporary or near contemporary such as Babylon 5 (especially Season 3), Farscape, or the musically confusing Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. (You've not lived until you've been at a con when the Farscape fans actually do their fan dance to the Farscape theme.)

Alex LIfeson did some interesting work on Andromeda's first season theme with the layering of hundreds of electric guitars in an otherworldly military march style. Then the theme went boringly generic from season two when the studio started demanding the changes that eventually forced Robert Wolfe out.
And while I mostly agree that Trek should have original music, I've always found it to be kind of odd that Trek tends to ignore any musical developments post 1960. I personally enjoyed the inclusion of the Beastie Boys in the first JJ Trek film and the rock songs included in First Contact.

I found that peculiar too. Picard liked art, Shakespeare and classical music, Riker was an early jazz aficionado, LaForge enjoyed Arthur Conan Doyle stories, Paris was positively low-brow by Trek standards being into 1950s rock and roll and pre-WW2 schlock sci-fi, Janeway had her gothic Victorian melodramas, Bashir was about as modern as we saw with his love of Bond-esque spy thrillers. It kind of felt like Earth was culturally stagnant, no-one apparently having made anything worth reading, watching or listening to in close to four centuries. Taking into account the diverse range of human creativity and individual tastes, that sounds improbable. Maybe Starfleet just attracts really retro minded people???

Yet new compositions of music were created by Lr Cmdr Daren, among others.
Sports like Parisi squares were created.
New art foms like the Holodeck were created -- though they brought forth emulations of earlier times among other items (the Resort on Voyager was not time speced in the past).

Yes they many looked a the past, but I don't think it was a total stagnation.

I would say that Daren's music didn't feel new, but I suppose it's difficult to try and create something believably from the future that wouldn't sound silly or just odd right now. A common problem for sci-fi. I touched on the holodeck when mentioning LaForge, Janeway and Bashir (I forgot Picard's 1930s pulp detective dramas too). However the technology is mostly used to portray familiar pasts. Minuet's jazz club, Vic's Las Vegas casino resort. Sandrines is meant to be contemporary, but feels like an old time bar/pool hall. The resort could be anywhere at any time really. The Fair Haven 1800s village.

Probably not a total stagnation, no. As I say, it's improbable there would be. We just didn't see many characters in the shows with non-retro tastes for comparison and contrast.

So did you pay Honor for that or did you get additional copies of that from Dilemmas? I've heard the latter isn't possible but sometimes its hard to separate legitimate complaints from paranoid flights of fantasy.

Haven't heard of anyone getting more than one of any of these guys either here or on Discord.

AFAIK the original speculation that their one time each come from Shan's post in the server release notes...
    - 4 new Voyages exclusive crew have been added as on-time rewards.
Speculation is that it's a typo and she meant one-time and not on-time and she's been asked to clarify many times, but AFAIK hasn't done so.

I loved MoO (the original)... I thought that MoO2 didn’t play as well as they sacrificed game play for fancy 3D graphics... The Arachni in Mass Effect are pretty cool too. As are the Arachnids in Starship Troopers (the original Heinlein book... not the crappy movie)

    Insectoid Lives Matter !!!

MOO II is a better entry point for new players as it is actually an easier run up and the difficulty meter actually is a wider range. It just suffers jump the shark gameplay for an end game unless you go the diplo win.

Initial point being the Xindi are just a rip off of MOO in any case, Stellar Converter and all.
What races were exterminated as part of the run up to 3 again? The Alkari/Arboreal?

Yeah... love me an extra large class M colony world protected by Artemis Nets and all... then send a big Stellar Converter fleet to Orion and kick the guardians Butt...

But seriously, what are the odds of six completely different species obtaining sentience and technology at the same time on the same planet and then not wiping each other out (Avians notwithstanding). I would guess it’s substantially lower than hitting the top row on Dabo all four times with four pulls. Or maybe about the same as getting 10 x 5* behold on one portal pull...

    Edited: Avians... not Arborals

Whoah, did not expect MOO talk in here but it is very much welcomed. I loved MOO2 just for the custom race builder... "Telepathic" so you could instantly conquer worlds without needing ground troops or assimilation centers afterwards was the best trait to slap on my cybernetic/creative psilons

Now if we can get some Quest For Glory talk in here my retro gaming life conversation will be complete

    Paid Honor.

Since they are likely one-time drops, and exclusive to Voyages, I figured I would never get another copy of him if I airlocked him. And he would also stay at 1/4 forever unless I gave him Citations.

The wiki showed his 1/4 stats as DIP and SCI 500+, so 4/4 looked to be decent. Since DB didn't release the stats, I decided to level and see, and updated the wiki so that others can see whether he's worth it.

This is one of those things that we need better Comms about.

Let DB state CLEARLY "Yes, you can only get one Card of each on Voyages" or "No, they will drop more than once."

So just for kicks, since I acquired the new Voyage crew, I have re-encountered their particular part2/part 3 dilemmas no fewer than twice a piece...and I haven't gotten another one. Sure it could be RNG, but I would start to heavily lean on the community proof that they are truly "on time only".

Thanks for that — I was wondering what his FF stats would be, since I just picked him up the other day. Was hoping for 800+ base stats, but I guess he'd hit that on DIP with my starbase bonus, at least. Still not sure it's enough to save him from the scrap heap.

It would be enough for me to keep him, very few 4*s have 2 stats both over 700.
Only ones I can think of who do naturally or do with a starbase are...
Robin Hood Picard in SEC and COM
Advocate Kolos in DIP and SCI
    Sybok with DIP and SCI
and now Jannar in DIP and SCI

That's true. And as someone reminded me here the other day, if I were to airlock him, I'd likely never see him again, ever, no matter how long I continued to play STT. Thankfully, after re-freezing a ton of mirror crew, I've got no shortage of empty slots at the moment. ;)

Same, I used the Mirror Mega-Event as a way to FF tons of weaker Mirror Crew, aka any Mirror folks who had less than 700 primary stat even with starbases, so Mirror Uhura, Mirror Sisko, Mirror Ezri, Mirror Garak. Mirror Jennifer does pass 700 with starbases but I decided to cryo her anyway since she would barely pass 700.

Diiiiiid someone say Crystalline Entity with SCI, SEC, and ENG?
