DB Do-Better II

I was part of the original DO-Better movement and I feel a lot of the improvements we saw was because of it
The only was to have DB listen is to stop spending
In light of the recent mistakes and blunders and the response from DB that is like a slap in the face to every paying player " I am vip 14" I think it is about time for DB-Do-Better II
I will not spend a single dollar till DB owns up to their mistakes and start taking real measures to correct them

I'm on board. I was going to renew my monthly card as it is up soon, but yeah not worth it.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.
I am done. F2P is the way for me from now on. If this is the way they treat people that spend big money on this game, let someone else pick up the tab.
In addition to some solution to the Mirror Picard apology, I'd suggest at least three metrics:
1. Changing the event reward structure to percentage based, as discussed in this thread.
2. Recalibrating the honor exchange rates and/or duplicates problem, as discussed in this thread.
3. Standardized apology compensation in the form of dilithium, as discussed in this thread.
Consider participating in civil discourse, understanding the Tardigrade, and wandering with the Subspace Eddies.
I'd love it if they stopped rushing things out half-arsed, and take the time to properly test everything.
If that means taking a week off, and only running events bi-weekly to get things done right, so be it. It would also cut down on the event fatigue (although it would cut down on their revenue, assuming people are still buying packs after this).
I'd love a full mea culpa and ownership of the constant screw-ups lately. I'd love better, more open communication.
I'd love for them to take the time to think things through, come up with sensible compensations, and re-engineer their system to effectively and efficiently compensate people when mistakes do crop up.
I'd also love a pony.
I'm not optimistic which one I'll get first. Takers on it being the pony?
I think there is a good change of it being the pony ...
And reward structures for events are definitely one thing.
Not insulting players and paying customers is another.
At this point in time, the game is approximately two years old, and we've already had two major player movements asking for DB to improve the work product and have more fairness in their dealings with players. Think about that.
I am sure that DB means well. What is abundantly clear is that either DB lacks a finger on the pulse of the playerbase, or they simply don't care. I'm frankly not sure which it is. But I do know that it's not an attitude that I will support.
When people point fingers about giant whales that say they stop spending but still do, I'm sure a lot think of me. Truth is, when DB starts doing better, I start spending again. I'm not blowing $200 a week anymore, and I'm not chasing any new shinies after DB lost my trust with Musketeer La Forge. But I do still spend a little - including $25 on the double your star offer for Picard. I figure if I'm still enjoying the game, even though it's irritating at times, I should pay for it. But now that they've flatly said that my $25 means nothing to them. So, that ends. No more.
The only lever we have to pull is with our wallets. Speak with your dollars. If you are upset with the direction of the game, stop supporting it. Maybe that will finally make someone listen.
TL;DR: Speak with your dollars until DB makes sense.

DB: Do Better.
Member of Starship Trista.
I am guessing whoever made the decision still have hangover from yesterday party
Does this mean we have to change to [DB-DO BETTER II].... or the DB-DO BETTER campaign is different than II lol?
I am upset that people who were so effected were "gifted" something they already had.
Count me in.
VIP8 and staying. Impress me DB
1) Pissed off about the Picard being an apology when I spent $25 dollar to get him for this event.
2) Pissed off about the down time as I was rank 1038 and was ready to turn in a batch of rewards.
I didn't join in on the first DB Do Better event as I saw DB's wonderful progress through the many months and saw the upwards trajectory. I was so happy they listened to us about the UI (remember the dark portraits and the non-sortable crew). Unfortunately the tone-deaf ridiculousness still persists. I can only take so much.
Personally I'm not interested in hurting DB or teaching it a lesson, but in understanding if there is any reason for me to keep investing in this game. I don't need promises like "yes, we will try to do better"; what I want is clear answers to specific questions.
That's why I think we should ask DB to postpone this week's event, in the meantime we should prepare a list of serious questions and ask Erin to answer them. I'm thinking of something well organized: we collect questions on the forum for 2-3 days, then we as a group choose (vote) ourselves the most interesting / important 10-20 questions for let's say another day or two, then Erin answers our questions, not a selection of what she thinks or wants to answer, like she did in the past.
I understand that STT is a business and that profit is a very important part of it, but profit and greed are different things. It seems to me that DB is very greedy, I know that Greed is eternal (ROA #10), but I also know that Good customers are as rare as latinum, [you should] treasure them (ROA #57). For this game to function it's important to find a good balance between profit and customer satisfaction, and it seems that most of the management decisions are totally governed by greed, without taking care of the customers.
I'd be very curious to find out if all DB employees were working during the whole event last week (Mirror Crusher's expedition hybrid). I suspect that many of them were enjoying their holidays, while
we were facing a terrible event. There are rarely smoothly events when DB is working at full capacity, so I wonder... wouldn't it be simpler to just say "hey guys, we're enjoying our holidays for the next 2 weeks, therefore we won't organize any events during this time" ?
This is the kind of question I want to Erin to answer.
