    In North Carolina here. Tuesday morning I woke up to no water at all, frozen pipes. So I left the water running all night. Wednesday morning I woke up to only cold water, no hot. I can't win.

    That is rough. We have been single digits at night all week. Chance of snow tonight, early, but warmer overnight, it looks like.

    We are getting snow later on tonight into tomorrow, followed by near sub-zero temperatures the next couple of days. I already have off work tomorrow as there is no way any of us will be able to make it in with blizzard conditions and horrid road conditions. Thankfully normal temperatures return on Monday and a little over a foot of the lighter, powder snow is not hard to deal with.
    There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Janeway.

    Tough seeing them sick especially over the holidays. Hopefully she'll back home soon I'm delighted her recovery is moving at a fast pace. I hope she has a Denobulan Doctor

    Hope she recovers rather quickly! Children are stronger than a lot of people give them credit for.

    No doubt -- I tell you what there is nothing so exhausting yet exhilarating as when they get something they really shouldn't have and you have to get it from them :).

    May her spunk never be truly tamed :)

    Sun belt here. It was something like 59 last night, which is a bit warmer than usual around this time as it's typically been in the low 40s overnight. I will never, ever live in the snow belt if I have a reasonable choice.

    Exactly what we've got going on in Southwestern Ontario... up and down like crazy, in a few days we're even going above zero again

    I would love -8C. All we're getting in London is -20C if we're lucky and -30C if we're not.

    Hehe. I read on CBC this morning it's so cold in Calgary they brought the penguins at the zoo inside.

    Well the -8 is only for today, then it's going right back down to the -20 to -30 range...it certainly is a harsher winter this year than last year.
