Getting #1 for 20 seconds and spending 2 tickets to reclimb the rank is just a waste of daily tickets and your time. Aim for top 250 and you won't have to run another ticket for the rest of the day
This has been my plan for a while now, yet in the last two days I've been getting dropped down below 2000 in a matter of hours. It *hugs* and I haven’t made any changes that would explain it.
NX class schems have more competition in the division once the rewards are changed back to schems that you can get in regular packs there will be less competition amongst the top 1%
The NX schematics have been out for a while but the competition didn’t seem to heat up until this week. Weird...maybe I've just had a bad string of luck or there had been another shift in arena-preferred crew (like when Rura Penthe Reed came out) that I haven’t noticed.
It can be very streaky, sometimes I’ll go 2-3 days in a row and be able to hold a 200-400 rank in admiral with no tickets, other times I’ll have to use 3-4 tickets in a day there to keep that high.
Just got first place in the admiral division, beating the STD Klingon sarcophagus ship to get it. I’ll probably be back to around 3000 in a few minutes. It’s amazing how quickly you lose that spot. It was also on my last arena ticket.
People will give all sorts of opinions. But it comes to RNG if you are not No. 1.
It is just of matter of not being selected by RNG when people are refreshing for opponents.
Sometimes you can stay up there for a few days other times you drop in a matter of minutes.
Amazingly, I just hit number one in the Admiral division again. I only dropped to around 300 since my previous post. That’s unusual considering how fast rank usually drops. I also believe that it’s RNG.
Does anyone have a good suggestion on best "set-up" for the arena - i.e. best crew to staff your ship with?
I have a fully maxed BoP and ISS Enterprise, which seem to b the most common ships I run into. Any ideas for the best crew to be competitive?
I imagine there are a lot of strategies out there. What works for me is having crew that have similar warmup/cool down/duration timers for their skills, especially accuracy and damage. On my HMS Bounty, I've got Crell Moset and Captain Scott for accuracy, Rura Penthe Reed got damage, and 1701 Jadzia for evasion. I’ll wait to activate any of the crew until the cloak has expired, then continue to wait to activate Captain Scott until Crell Moset goes into cool down, while reserving the ship’s damage bonus until Rura Penthe Reed goes into cool down.
It doesn’t work 100% of the time - someone will get a powerful critical hit and wipe out most of my shields and hull, long before the cloak is ready again - but it’s worked to keep me generally in the top 150-200 without expending all of my arena tickets.
The ranking system is terrible, I regularly make it to the top ten only to find that I’ve fallen to 1500+ within half an hour. When someone beats you do you get stuck with their ranking? That would be moronic, but then again it is the arena...
