First, some of my 1 or 2* @ lvl 70-90 are better stats than some of the 4* FF/FE.
Second: who's to say I won't get a few beholds to add *s to those already? I HAVE done that 5x. I have a 3/5 Cochran, 3/5 Mobile Doctor, and 2/5 Age of Sail Crusher from various beholds. I could have taken other characters, but fortunately the choices were no contest.
Plus let's face it, with limited crew slots, unless you plan to spend 1000s on this game, fusing 5* crew just makes more sense, and better play.
I agree with most of the views expressed in this thread so let's chip some "truth" DB's way and let them think about it.
These are the problems I see with mega events legends every 1-2 months. You are Not rotating the stats to to be appealing to collectors and players that can either afford the citation or the buy. With so many com/dip/sec/whateva free legends they seem lackluster and forcefed.
Older legends have decreased enough in value that even seeing a junk legend in Dabo is insulting. Getting a duelist torres, scotty, and grilka behold is enough to make me want to scream. Older legends do hold some value if they are cast and ff for events but when 4* ff are beating them out for shuttles.... duh, they *hugs*.
It is just a real bad look DB when people want to buy but can't because crew slots cost the price of a imax 3d movie and a bucket of popcorn. That's pure greed, getting people coming and going.
I personally am still on the fence about this game. I want to engage with it again and have fun but the odds I currently am getting from DB are not worthy of action.
I recently got my first Seven of Nine. Fully equipped her to find that I have THREE STAR crew with better stats than her. That is a bit “oh come on now!”
Yeah I'm pretty sure you're just misreading the stats on your Seven of Nine & Gangster Spock (like I use to because of the default crew view settings), both of whom are simply awesome not just for gauntlet & voyages but also for away missions. On your crew page, every time you log in, change the default "Base Skill" to "Combined" and you'll see a huge difference. Seven & GSpock is generally near the top of their respective lists ( SEC & SCI). These two DO **tsk tsk** at shuttles/factions, but shines in many other areas! They are 2 of my favorite 5* crew, and doesn't even need to be 5/5 to be useful!

There are a lot of "legendary" characters that aren't worth the trouble and damn near impossible to FF. I still don't think DB understands the meaning of certain words: success percentage, crit percentage, common, rare, super rare, and legendary--just to name a few. It might not be so bad if the honor exhange rate was worth a damn....but this isn't the case. If honor rates were increased and/or the absurd prices for citations were lowered, they would have a much happier client base and might just encourage people to buy more packs. Personally, I rarely buy packs anymore because you get mostly garbage--useless, low-quantity schematics and abundant 3* & 4* crew. I am sure there are a large number of players with 1-3/5* legendary crew that basically take up crew spots simply because we have invested the time & resources into them. Considering legendaries are the second highest amount of crew type and their abyssmal drop rate--obtaining all five stars necessary is an undertaking that makes Cochrane's first warp experience seem like a cakewalk.

Yeah I’m pretty sure these characters were created before gauntlet and definitely before Voyages, when proficiency didn’t really matter too much.

They were but proficiency has always been a factor in away missions and in days of yore we had Expedition missions where that could make a difference.
This may contradict my earlier statement somewhat, but I just figured out that I only need 4,800,000 honour to FF all my current 5* crew. Yeah...only. LOL

A few weeks and you’ll be there. No problem
I think we may have very different definitions of "a few weeks".

Yeah, with 7of and Spocko, it's all about the proficiency. I don't think I've used them outside of Gauntlet. Even the last time 7 was bonus crew, there were much better versions of her to use on shuttles. But man, they can both still take names in one-on-one competition.
Seven did replace my Mirror T’Pol in the science department. I’ll see next gauntlet if Spock takes someone’s spot
He should. Gangster Spock has the best security average in the game. You can't do better in that department.
Time to introduce a new 6* crew - it's the logical conclusion to the power creep model, right?
logical next step I should say, because there is no conclusion
if there is 6* crew, the most possible logical next step (at least for me) would be to retire.
If they came out with " 6*'s " I'd be ok with it myself but, they'd need to do it in one of a couple ways
Option one ) even though they be called 6* I think given the rarity implied that they should be called "Admiral Cards" and when one is collected you get 3 pips so you'd actually only need 2 to fill a 6*..
Theyd need to have a stated min/Max on stats.
Or..
3 Stars are moved out of the premium portals,
4*s are the minimum when opening a premium pack with a guaranteed 5* each pack with a better chance at a 6* then you get today for the 5*s (and all 6*s are "loose", not the 3x2 idea above)
5*'s would be added to Voyages in place of 4s
And god help us on how much a citation would cost.
In the end, can't just dump 6*'s in to the system as it stands now, everything would need to be revised and improved.

This comment makes alot of sense and I am totally on board with it. I believe it would really spark sales and create a renewed interest.

Why buy when all you get is junk or dupes that have the value of a piece of Bazooka Joe bubble gum. Add on top of that the constant pressure of limited crew slots sold at outrageous prices. Even at sale prices I would rather spend the 3 $ per slot on something meaningful that will give me value in RL like a good pizza.
For a collecting game they sure do make it hard to collect don't they?
If 6* and 7* crew come out like all other ccg I played it's the one sure fire way of deleting my account and simply moving on to pastures new. I'd still have STO to go back too
like I said in a previous thread, if they actually made it possible to get more stars for your 5* crew, then it would motivate you to try and get more. as it is, what is the point?
Event month 4/5s are great and make the game much more fair. Everyone can get good legendaries instead of only whales getting them like it used to be. This should be encouraged more not discouraged.

While 4/5* for everyone via Mega Events is great for newer players...
I'd prefer Mega Events to be quarterly at best. DB is quite weak when it comes to writing, themes and narratives. We don't want them burning out over this mad rush to give everyone free, shiny gold cards.
I thought about this quite a while back. I figured the first "Ultra Legendary" would have to be Q - The One and Only. His stats would be staggering, and could finish any Episode mission by himself. He would have random skill traits that would just be part of the RNG, and pull from all 6 Skills. Oh, and you might have to fuse him from all other Q characters to get him the first time, like a puzzle.
Extra *s to FF him would cost 250K per * based on DB costs now.

Admiral of the Haus of GaghGagh, Starbase level 94, we are not accepting members at this time.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.

In the crew quarters click on one of the six skills like command. Than you can choose between base, proficiency and combined skill...

at least DB didn't offer him up as the "reward" for his first Event... could you imagine the forum outcry?
