Sarek would mean more variety, he could become an alternative to Kahless, Gowron and Murr Picard.
A strong character being introduced wouldn't be an issue (as with Defensive Phlox). The issue would be giving the same character to everyone. Gauntlet is better when everyone brings different characters to the table.
