Fairness? There’s 3 thresholds per day, if your fleet is effective, you’ll get 100 crons per day. When your starbase is completed, you’ll have accumulated X crons
The least effective fleet will actually accumulate less crons then yours when their startbases is completed because they can’t reach the last threshold.
When EVERY fleet has there startbases completed, no one will receive crons and the bad fleet will have received less crons than yours. I don’t see where the “fairness” is an issue. You got all the possible crons earlier than other fleets. That’s it.
Now you can argue that your fleet is so good that you keep piling components after the daily threshold is reach because you want your starbase completed faster. That’s would be your choice (bad starbase management if you ask me). Once my fleet reached 1100 we tell everyone to stop contributing because we want To maximize our overall crons rewards.
My fleet is at level 29, with only 3 rooms left to finish. When all rooms are completed in a week or two, we plan on bombarding CS with tickets in order to get our lost chrons. Punishing us for having the best teamwork in the game surely isn't what they had in mind. They are trying to promote teamwork from what I have heard.
Are you TRYING to get everybody to hate you and your fleet? with 7 day leadtimes on tickets, you want to make it WORSE?
Someone wants to be the new public enemy #1, taking over from Guest2784 (or whatever)
A broken 'daily tasks' mechanism is hardly a waste of a ticket. Encouraging fleets to work together and then punishing them when they do so is NOT acceptable. Your fleets obviously haven't been as successful so it's not a concern, but it is a concern for us and there will be tickets that will hopefully lead to a better solution for all players. This isn't about getting some sort of advantage.
It's hard to understand the petty attitude that people are showing.
No one is being "punished." The expiry of a time-limited reward is not a bug. Something everyone saw coming is not something to submit a ticket over, knowing full well that CS has their hands full and has absolutely no power to affect this. The fact that your fleet is finishing its base so quickly isn't something to fret over. It means you're enjoying the benefit of all skill boosts much sooner than anyone else. That's hardly "punishment"; it's a significant advantage. And presumably, if you're able to level things so quickly, you're probably a group of players who do very well in Voyages, with all the chrons those entail.
My least favorite aspect of this community has always been its most adantaged players complaining that they don't receive even more advantages.

Being asked to work as part of a team and then receiving fewer rewards for doing just that is a punishment, no question. They ask us to complete daily tasks and them take them away when we are good at doing so. That isn't fair.
You talk like this was some sort of reward that DB gave us. It's not. Fleets that are approaching the max made sacrifices to do more ship battles. They did research and found the best ways to do components. They were active and made donations every day. DB should be very happy about that, it's a good thing.
This good outcome is quickly becoming a bad outcome for DB and we intend to let them know. It is my hope that the input of fleets like my own and the OP's (TGE) will help to make this a better game for all players, even the entitled players that expect better rewards for being in an inactive fleet.
...you make it sound like it was really difficult for you to check the wiki and find the best "ship battle" to farm your stuff from instead of the highest chron cost. Congrats, have a cookie.
Yes, I agree it's a raw deal that you might not get the 100 daily chrons. However, you WILL have 5% added strength to all of your shuttles. That's pretty sweet. They said they're working on a fix. Bombarding them with additional CS tickets is only going to cause the current backlog to get worse. Though, maybe they'll just put your fleet on /ignore or something else and it won't impact anything but them ignoring any other (legit) tickets you might submit in the mean time.
When faced with an issue that you believe is affecting your entire fleet, it is totally within your rights and it becomes, according to your conscience, your duty to speak on behalf of your fleet. In order to not create more problems, I would recommend that you ask your admiral to send a ticket in about the issue and explain, in detail, what your fleet is experiencing. Ask about a resolution and compensation and indicate any suggestions that your fleet has come up with. I personally know that Customer Service is able to give compensation to your entire fleet if necessary. I would even go so far as to suggest that you are attempting to deal with the situation without requiring everyone in the fleet to send in tickets and ask the customer service representative to work with you to prevent more hassle and work on all sides. If they indicate that you can receive compensation but that everyone must send their own ticket, ask that the compensation can be set in your ticket and write a template that your fleet can use which references the original ticket.

I am sorry where it it the DB promised we would keep getting Chronitons forever with Starbases? As much as I want to keep that 100 chronitons as day gift coming they did not say it was a permanent feature. Please do not over load CS with tickets for something you have not "lost" because it was not promised.
No comment on the strategy of bombarding DB with CS tickets. Though one might surmise that their backlog would not exist if they released features that were 100% functional.
The fact that the chroniton rewards are daily fleet targets makes it pretty obviously plain that they are intended as a rolling reward. None of the other daily targets are at any risk of sunsetting due to a content wall (one that by all appearances exists due to lack of planning and foresight). Heck, the literal point of the daily targets feature is that they have no expiration date. This isn't that hard.

Thank you for that piece of advice. I will bring it to the attention of my Admiral.
I'm also happy that at least a couple of people understand that daily rewards are meant to be available to every fleet every day and not criticizing me for having that opinion.
...you make it sound like it was really difficult for you to check the wiki and find the best "ship battle" to farm your stuff from instead of the highest chron cost. Congrats, have a cookie.
There's a bit more to it than that. You need to identify ship battles that have similar drop rates, communicate it to the fleet, and get the members to buy in. I happen to know that you and your fleet spend enormous amounts of dilithium and aren't any further ahead, so the strategy has been at least partially successful.
On a sidenote, I'd love to see the drop rates actually listed in proper order so that all fleets can have more luck getting holoemitters. Away missions are almost always at the top of the list.
They have stated multiple times that they want to promote teamwork and then punish fleets for being good at it. That's not acceptable and we will send the tickets until they provide an acceptable solution. End of story.
Yes that is true and you obviously feel strongly about this but once more they did not state that to build teamwork that they would deliver continuous chronitons. And I would bet that like our fleet you have all been working together to build those rooms that have given you all an advantage in skill boost and an increase in daily chronitons.
What they did say was that working as a team fleets would be given rewards of skill improvements and an increase in the chroniton cap. The have delivered on that. That is the "End of Story". So I don't see it your way. In fact when Nod the said they "may" have other rooms in the future it implies that the rewards for building would come to an end untill other things come up. To assume that because you got a incentive and that said incentive would be a continuous thing is foolish and flooding CS that is already something like a week to 2 weeks behind is not going to make the game better or get you the outcome you seek.
I see the extra chrons as the incentive to work together as a fleet, not directly for the sole purpose of building starbases. I don't see where DB has made it clear that as soon as you reach the bottleneck so working as a fleet now gives less incentive, congrats you've now earned the retirement gold watch and can/should retire from fleet teamwork.
This to me is the real implied problem that needs ticketing.

Send in one ticket, if you must, but don't "bombard" them. You may think you're punishing DB, but by doing so you will be effectively punishing every player who has legitimate and pressing problems that need addressing. I understand you're upset, you feel like something that was promised to you has been snatched away. I'm not going to debate that part of it with you in this post -- I just want to plead with you not to do something that will affect so many players in such a negative manner.
Last I read, DB is taking an average 2 weeks to respond to tickets. You think that bombarding them with multiple tickets per player for one issue is going to make that wait shorter? You seem like you're wanting to make them pay for what you see as a broken promise to you, but the only thing you'll accomplish by doing that is making everything worse.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"
If you have built all the current rooms in a starbase to their max possible level then congratulations to you and your fleet. However I can not understand the mindset that this becomes a technical issue that demands posting to customer service which is already backed up with people having real technical issues that need to be dealt with.
In comparison its like a raid guild who has beaten the encounter and gotten all the possible gear for everyone in the guild complaining they are being punished for having good team work. They then decide they are going to bombard customer service because they can no longer get the shiny gear that's usable for them as being a technical flaw in the game as game x lists the encounter as a daily task.

The thought of 'punishment' never really entered our thought process. We want all fleets the be able to complete daily tasks and since bringing up the issue in the forums since the inception of starbases has accomplished nothing, we are going to try a different approach. None of the other daily tasks are limited time offers.
There seems to be a 50/50 divide on whether people think daily tasks should be available on a perpetual or limited basis. There are fifty people in my fleet that feel it should be the former. You obviously feel that it should be a limited time offer.
Whether it is a 'real issue' or not isn't for you to decide. I don't criticize every ticket that you send in. We feel that this is a real issue and that should be enough.

1. Their CS is likely outsourced. This means that DB doesn't even read their tickets, they just get a report on the trends and numbers. (Which is still useful information, mind you)
2. Their CS will after a while delete the tickets, especially since it's not a support issue. This is assuming they aren't empowered to block you entirely, and yes, unless they use some homerolled system, any modern helpdesk software can do that.
3. More than likely spamming them will have all of 0 impact on the deadlines they have to get more stuff out.
and finally:
4. Why are you ticketing that 'we've ran out of things to do and can't get chrons anymore' when Shan reads the forums and has already passed it up? Seriously, what do you expect the CS people to do? Or Shan? What do you honestly expect will happen besides ranting at people who are probably stressed out trying to get the backlog cleared?

I am sending in a single ticket, as are each of my fleetmates. Perhaps my wording wasn't clear. CS can't change the game, but they can compensate the affected players appropriately and inform DB that players are having difficulty with broken daily tasks.
To the poster above, Shan does a good job and I don't expect anything more from her. I have always been satisfied with my resolutions from CS and I expect that they will compensate us until the broken daily tasks mechanism is resolved. Of course, this issue could be resolved in the next week or two and I won't need to send a ticket. We'll see what happens.
It would make very little sense to remove the reward because you "won" the game mode. If I were drawing it up you would just automatically get those chronitons each day as a reward for completing the star base until a new room opened up. To be fair, we don't know that there isn't a mechanism built in... we just assume that because DB has given us considerable reason to doubt their foresight in the past.
Maybe the irony is that we play because we’re Star Trek fans, those hopeful idealists that like to think things will get better when we raise valid concerns about fairness and balance, etc and we forget that DB’s greed openly mocks the values espoused by the franchise they have a license for.

Shan said somewhere that there is no mechanism now, so the reward DOES go away once you're finished with base donations. The concern is valid.
Jamming up the ticket queue will only cause DB to slow down on getting to other issues as they take their time fishing through what would then be considered spam to arrive at the tickets with more urgent matters. Instead of threatening DB with such an act, why not simply suggest that they allow Fleet members to obtain the free 100 Chrons automatically until they open up more rooms to upgrade?
Congratulations on your Fleet reaching level 29, but your remark about "best teamwork" comes off as snooty and not in the spirit of Star Trek. Just because your Fleet members have more money to spend than others does not give you the right to use such a stance as you stomp your feet like a child demanding DB give you what you want.
Who said anything about spending money? Half of the fleet is F2P, including myself. We work together, share advice, and make sacrifices to get the right components. I am very proud of what we do.
We would obviously be happier with an alternative solution, but it doesn't appear that one is on the horizon.
I'll reiterate this again since neither of you seem to understand what I am trying to say. If DB's stated goal is to promote teamwork then they are failing in this goal. The lack of a solution rewards fleets that demonstrate poor teamwork and punishes fleets that demonstrate good teamwork. That's a serious problem and it will be brought to their attention both in the forums (OP did a great job) and via tickets until it is resolved.
You don't get to decide what is an important issue and what is not. We feel that when a game mechanic called 'daily tasks' is impossible to complete then it is a problem worthy of a ticket.
The fact that your fleet has hit such a high level indicates a group of you at the very least is spending money for Dilithium in order to either refresh the ability to donate and/or on the Chrons in some fashion in order to obtain the needed components. I am in a fleet that is currently sitting at Level 28 and a lot of us spend money on the game (not all). We would not have been able to upgrade as fast as we did either without such help as there are only so many Chrons one can accumulate per day as free playing individuals; planning things out only gets you so far as you need the means to get what is needed in the first place. With those Holoemitters having the lowest drop rate of the four components and needing so much of them, being entirely free to play as a fleet would make your fleet's level completely unobtainable in the amount of time you have done otherwise. You did not say anything about saying money outright, but it was heavily implied with you providing the fleet level.
Once again, having fifty people sending even one ticket each in is an additional fifty tickets in the queue. Shan has made a stickied post that states that the current ticket time is TWO WEEKS. If you decide to send all of those tickets in, you are only going to make it much harder for customer service to siphon through all of those tickets. Make your suggestion in a coherent post. Shan reads the forums daily and constantly is sending information to the correct people. Bombarding DB on every side is not going to take care of the problem any sooner, but may, in fact, make other glaring issues take longer to resolve.
Patience is virtue.
There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Janeway.
As I meowntioned in another thread, there are players who don't have the crew to get past the second dilemma in voyages and therefore not earn too many chronitons (possibly just 100, but that twice purr day at least including recall). The 100 free chronitons from the daily donation goal are impurrtant to lots of F2Pers.
"Everything about the Jem'Hadar is lethal!" - Eris (ST-DS9 Episode 2x26 "The Jem'Hadar")
Refreshing the donations would not help any fleet in my opinion. The only thing that matters is holoemitters and nobody donates 700 per day. I never said we don't spend at all, but making a concerted effort to run more ship battles instead of away missions (when drop rates are similar) has made the difference in my opinion.
That's all missing the point anyways. Several fleets are there and they are going to be missing out on the chrons. Shan is aware of the problem, but does not directly compensate players for the broken mechanism (in our opinion, hence the ticket).
A helpful person in this thread indicated that we can receive compensation for the entire fleet with one ticket, so we have done so with our projected completion date, suggested solutions, and expected compensation. If that does not work, we will explore other solutions like individual tickets. Hopefully the backlog will be somewhat resolved by then.

Dude, I never said you shouldn't send in a ticket, and as I believe I clearly stated, I wasn't debating you on the righteousness of your crusade. All I was saying is please don't "bombard" DB with multiple tickets.

Let DB think about design changes needed for this and tweak this. And let the CS handle other real issues. Thanks!!

That's how DB usually gets into these messes in the first place Taking the easy way.

Shan said somewhere that there is no mechanism now, so the reward DOES go away once you're finished with base donations. The concern is valid.
