Regarding gauntlet... maybe it's just a short-term trend, but my impression is that it has gotten a bit more dynamic recently. The key has been trait selection, which has helped create more options. For example, my current gauntlet is crafty, scoundrel, costumed. Crafty gets Mirror Picard his 25%, so lots of him are present. But... the 3 traits are really based around Q, so Sheriff Q is getting 65%. A slightly lesser CMD card, but now far more likely to be chosen. Some prefer Picard (or blindly pick him from the top of the list), others will pick Sheriff Q, or Captain Q (at 45%) or... And so we have some diversity. My prior gauntlet allowed Delta Flyer Paris to beat Caretaker walls repeatedly, just because the traits were better aligned for DFP (on CMD-ENG battles).

In context of this thread, what I'm hoping is that increased attention to gauntlet traits has been DB's way of spicing things up. Gauntlet itself is not going to be redesigned no matter how much anyone complains. But if they can regularly pick trait combos that make lesser cards more competitive with the monster cards, that seems like a reasonable improvement to me.

Near future: "Very soon, within a short time".....if someone said you could use the bathroom in the near future and 6 months later you were still waiting......

I was noticing this the other day as well. The past month has probably been the biggest variety of crew I have used in a very long time:
    • Caretaker
    • Kahless
    • Surak
    • Locutus
    • Mirror Picard
    • Admiral Riker
    • Mirror Phlox
    • Guinan
    • Inquisitor Troi
    • Gangster Spock
    • De Neuf

I feel like there are a lot of interesting choices around crew selection going on now.

When you have similar crews, you are facing the same crews and has higher prob to lose even when your stats are higher.

When you don’t have similar crew, you guess... you will be matched agains those crews where you have no chance to win.

Merit refresh and repeat ... until you lose

    From Novemebr:

Q11: Are there plans to rebalance event rewards? Solo ranked rewards are effectively the same from 26-1,000, while there could be more rewards for hitting higher thresholds.
A11: We plan to try some new reward structures for events in the NEAR FUTURE to better reflect the effort invested. We'll be looking at both the Threshold and Solo Ranked rewards and have some thoughts on how to improve Squad rewards as well.

    From today:

Q: Will there be changes to the event rewards structure to give players more incentive to participate?
A: Participation in events is at an all time high. As such, we believe players are already highly attracted to the rewards and the events themselves.

That is one of the responses that really stood out to me, as DB either not getting the question or completely ignoring the players.

Related to the reward structure is the community rewards during galaxy/hybrid events - it should be expanded to include more rewards, given the fact that most of the time in recent months the rewards were all claimed within about the first 12 hours. If the community support for the game and involvement in events is at an all-time high (aka DB profitability is also at an all-time high), then the community should be further rewarded with additional rewards.

Well, at least instead of blowing it off like last time we got a flat out no way this time : /

Did they entirely avoid questions on crew slot expansion or did I miss something?

    Exactly.

    Are you serious?

At least with JL, they have action and smash things up that actually fun. :)
  • The past few months I have felt more excitement from reading forum than playing the STT itself.

(Of course this wrong and this has to stop... or both)

Why am I being rerouted to a monthly forum subscription sign up web page?!

And the results were exactly as expected. the only surprise is there *might* be a "new" ship even debuted in the June mehga.
Otherwise everthing was "things are working as expected, stop your whining, nothing's going to change except the upcoming voyage nerf."
