Ok... the Art looks good this week, but thanks to a comment from a fleetmate, who can't post here anymore....
Does anyone else think that "War Correspondent Jake" is running to the bathroom after eating some bad Gagh-tacos?
you can even see the taco sauce on his shirt...

Agree, that's more accurate when you consider the arm positions.
...I just don't want him enough to go all in. I'll go threshold and use my chronitons on leveling crew to freeze them.
Me too. I need engineers more than diplomats anyway, although medicine makes him a little more valuable.
I knew I wasn't the only one who thought so.
Captain Janeway = Coffee Janeway
Romulan Picard = Soup Picard
War Correspondent Jake = Bees! Jake

I think we’ve got a good supply of DIP/MED crew from the last few months:
-Victorian Pulaski
-Mintakan Troi
-Prisoner Cornwell (admittedly MED/DIP, but they’re both so high)
I get that DB is half-heartedly listening to our issue that there aren't enough MED characters, I say half-heartedly because most of the MED people we've got since the start of this year have been MED secondary or tertiary.
Dirk listed a few, but let's list them all immortalized w/o starbases. I'll rate their MED on an A-F scale for funsies. Keep in mind, what most of us were asking for were characters who were Grade C or higher.
Grade A MED (1000+ base)
Prisoner Cornwell - MED 1186, DIP 1049, SEC 594
Grade B MED (850+ base)
Honestly no one
Grade C MED (700+ base)
Virtuoso Doctor - DIP 1157, MED 772, SCI 508
Grade D MED (550+ base)
Tourist Quark - DIP 810, MED 637, COM 325
Victorian Pulaski - DIP 986, MED 614
Amanda Grayson - DIP 692, MED 597
Mintakan Troi - DIP 947, MED 604, SCI 307
Grade F MED (Below 550)
Dr. Gillian Taylor - SCI 636, MED 447, DIP 302
Nurse Faith Garland - DIP 605, MED 484, SCI 353
Mutated Paris - DIP 820, MED 477
Anij - DIP 718, MED 402
Tieran Possessed Kes - CMD 943, MED 525, SEC 416
War Correspondent Jake Sisko - DIP 1216, SEC 882, MED 503
Ultimately I don't think we need more MED for a bit, but I am not so thrilled almost all the MED we have gotten recently have all been this weird DIP/MED trend. And I do want another Grade A or B MED person before the summer is up.

Honestly, I will welcome that. ENG is a lot like MED used to be, tons of weak skilled crew with a few very high skilled crew but are pack-only or very unlikely to drop.

I think you forgot Surgeon Pulaski. I would rate her an A for MED. Plus, some of the secondary MED characters we received have been pretty decent for other aspects of the game (Voyages and Gauntlet) so the MED haul the last few months definitely pushes ENG into worst stat.
As opposed to bees, wherein he would be looking up and around in fear.
Seconded on the solid MED crew for the gauntlet. In the last six months we got Mirror Bev, Mirror Troi, and Nurse Garland, off the top of my head.
With the exception of MED/ENG, you can find good options in all the other voyage groups for Medicine. I have an average crew but I can consistently go over 6 hours on voyages when Medicine is one of the two main skills. Lots of Medicine exists, you just have to spend time collecting it and be creative setting up a voyage group.
I have a pretty good MED crew and can get over 8 hours all the time. MED/COM and MED/ENG of 1000+ in each is an underutilized combination that needs attention outside of honor and packs only.
In my squad we refer to Platonian Kirk as "Nipple Kirk" and Angel I Riker as "Fancy Pants Riker".
NIPPLE KIRK!?!?
That sounds scandalous! I love it!

Very nice. 😀. I hit 8 hrs for the first time a couple of days ago but it was DIP/SCI. Squeezed past with 51 AM left. I was thrilled. I don't mind a few gaps in terms of skills. I think it makes the game more interesting if you have to work around deficiencies.
Highly skilled or secondarily/trivially skilled? Its less of a stretch if Starfleet Academy really does try to round folks out like has been claimed by Crusher Picard and others.
Rare but not exclusively impossible. Torpedo Surgery, communications array repairs, and other functions have been done by Doctors....
It's pretty common for astronauts who are the Flight Surgeon to receive advanced technical training in addition to their primary skill.
"In 2009, Dr. Barratt served as Flight Engineer for Expedition 19/20"
"Selected as a mission specialist by NASA in July 2000, Dr. Barratt reported for training in August 2000. Following the completion of 2 years of training and evaluation, he was assigned technical duties in the Astronaut Office Station Operations Branch."

I would think that doctors specializing in orthopedics would have to at least have a thorough understanding of some engineering principles and that biomedical engineers have a far greater understanding of anatomy and biochemistry than most people.
To me, a base stat of 1000+ implies mastery, not merely being adept or proficient. Of course, I could be misunderstanding what @[10F] Newt meant with "in each"... or he could have been referring to voyage score (base + avg roll), which would of course set the bar somewhat lower.
Leatherface
Disaster Girl's House Fire
Raptor!
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.
