MED/COM and MED/ENG of 1000+ in each is an underutilized combination that needs attention outside of honor and packs only.
To me, a base stat of 1000+ implies mastery, not merely being adept or proficient. Of course, I could be misunderstanding what @[10F] Newt meant with "in each"... or he could have been referring to voyage score (base + avg roll), which would of course set the bar somewhat lower.

North Star Tucker's DIP is his primary skill and over 1000 and in no way do I think he's a master diplomat. In fact his ENG is only in the 700s on that card and we all know he's way closer to a master engineer than any kind of diplomat.
So what it really goes to show is that numbers are just numbers, no indicator of mastery per se.
