Perhaps I wasn't being precise enough. I meant uncommon, not Uncommon. Either way, it's stuff I have, not the ones I need. Mostly Components I have in surplus, very rarely Equipment. So it feels like just having more rolls of that dice would be better, especially since my largest hurdles are some the harder-to-find-but-rated-as-low-rarity items. Individual expectations may vary, though.
I do not think 65% crits should exist period. They ruin the game and take away any fun you can have with strategy. Gauntlet was fun when first released and no one had the crit cards.
- Remove the 5% base, no trait = no chance of crits ever
- Reduce value of each trait to 5%
- Increase number of possible traits from 3 to 4 (so absute highest chance is 20%, but designed so most get 5-10% only)
- Give us a counter to hobo immediately. The caretaker should have been introduced with 100K honor so anyone can buy. There is no other engineer in game who comes close to hobo and some people get him on 3-streak boxes. I've ran an 84 streak, placed 1st-3rd at least 30 times since released, and still not gotten. In other words never introduce someone so blatantly powerful with no counter randomly. Hobo should have been in honor hall and crusher a reward (plenty med counters).
There is many more things that would make gauntlet more enjoyable but reducing crits is the number one way. Streaks would last longer but you would have to balance streak versus getting tired and adding more gauntlet rounds for achievements.
What annoys me more is the fact that some of the higher ranks (4 to 10 or something) gives less loot boxes, but of the higher rarity than the ranks after them.
Except the rare boxes are rarely better... so it would have been better just to have more of the common boxes. Ironically, those ranks seem to be the hardest to avoid, for me. Can't even drop below them if I try.
Strongly disagree. Top tier boxes don't drop trainers. That makes them significantly more valuable in any proportion.
You wrong here, I'd rather have 7 boxes in rank 11ish slot than 3 in 10 slot. Out of those 7 boxes you may get 1 or 2 trainers but then you miss a couple other chances to get caretaker.
I've had a CS agent tell me caretaker drops equally in all chests. Therefore more chests = better chances. Since that's all I need or care about, lately i try to fail to get into that excellent spot. It is way harder to place 11th than it is to place 4th.
DB should give 7 chests to everyone rank 1-10, just have 3 of the big ones, then 4 of smaller.

CS tells a lot of people a lot of different things like "shuttles are working as intended" and "yes, Musketeer La Forge is in the pack".

CS doesn't make these statements on their own. They simply repeat developer's words. Do you suggest developer is lying to us?

I can't count the times I've gotten far better ending rewards for a ~50th place finish than for a top 3 finish. (Just happened yesterday — 100 chrons and a premium pull.) This is one reason I don't really care much about rank anymore.

Well you got me to join a gauntlet today. Now to make sure I do not touch reset and minimize my rounds.
I also believe the best chance for the caretaker or whoever is the gauntlet grand prize is in the gauntlet box. But it may be just the same in any of the higher ones. My thought is in giving higher rarity items they reduced the chance for the caretaker a little.
How about this for a start. Since I am not hitting reset. I will take the easy battle with Dukat.
Though I should also be able to take Tuvix. I guess Tuvix not as much rank increase. Did Tuvix now will wait a few hours before doing anymore. After that I probably will wait until tomorrow for any more rounds.

That would be the exact opposite of the in game text.
Then it is only because there are more of those rewarded in gauntlet than anything else .
Therefore, you here more people with them as a reward usually from the low streaks.
Also the best (Crates?) are only available at end of gauntlet. So those are definitely the least rewarded in Gauntlet. That may explain why few people actually get the gauntlet grand prize in them.
Edit: I think we did this before in an older post.

It could be a few things (and has probably been some or even all of these things at one time or another)
1) CS is instructed to lie
2) CS doesn't have sufficient information and gives their best effort at a reasonable sounding answer.
3) CS has been lied to by development/management/etc and is just passing it along dutifully
4) CS was, unwittingly, given bad information
5) CS misinterprets information it has been given and ends up accidentally distributing misinformation instead.
I feel lots of times, #4 is the most likely. In the two examples I cited (when Muskateer La Forge was left out of his pack and the shuttle calculations), this is almost certainly the case.

Lie or ignorance. Neither is favorable.
