I just saw the new event in-game and I'm still hyperventilating over that Tucker! Too bad it's faction; I have no chance. But glad to know he's in game.
He may come back in another event or you may get lucky and get him in a pull.
I just wanted Q as Tucker will only be my 10th best Engineer but I also can't complain too hard
2nd star, final star and first star respectively for the Purples.

This event has been infuriating so far. Ran the same shuttle 3 times in a row at 90% success using 3 gold time boosts, failed every time. After my kick-start I've only had one shuttle actually succeed out of all that I've sent.
The real question is does he say “you hit me! Picard never hit me!”
I was TOTALLY hoping he would, but alas DB dropped the ball
Why bother. That would take 3 minutes of work, and won't make any difference in purchases. Player experience isn't a consideration here, just short term purchases, and soft costs, customer satisfaction, and soft benefits are completely left out of the equation.
I have no problem with more Q, he was the first protagonist of modern era of Star Trek and some of the best episodes involved him.
*antagonist 😀
Autocorrect can go straight to he'll.
Actually, he is more of an anti-hero as it becomes clearer as time goes on that he is not just messing with them for laughs; he is actually helping a group of mortal beings that would normally just blend in with everyone else grow and become a fearsome counter-force of the galaxy to everything else that sought to destroy others.
An example of a true antagonist would be the Borg.
(Note: my argument here is for literary and friendly debate purposes. It is not intended to be argumentative or rude or picking nits. In my own mind and research for my stories, I have more strict ideas of character types. Hopefully I can effectively articulate them.)
You have a point, but antagonist and protagonist are not defined as good guy and bad guy, nor are they defined by their goals and desires. The simple definition of protagonist is the guy we are rooting for and the antagonist is the person or force that is holding the protagonist back. Q may ultimately be trying to guide humans (debatable) but he is certainly usually holding the humans back from at least their precieved goals. Thus he is an antagonist even if he is (perhaps) not a bad guy. The Borg are just the outright villains.
This is where the words protagonist and antagonist can give any story more flexibility and maturity than hero or villain. Protagonist is I believe more accurately translated the lead (first) struggler in a story. We don't need to root for the protagonist. The story just follows them.
For example, one might say Q is co-protagonist with us in STT since he theoretically is trying to help us and we find him throughout the game. Or pretend an episode of Voyager tells the story of a battle between the Borg and species 8472 from the Borg perspective, say 3 of 22 in Engineering. As we follow 3 of 22, who is a villain and would assimilate you in a second, he/she/it is the protagonist of the story.
Anyone can be the lead of the story which makes protagonist and antagonist more appropriate for most stories and allows DB to do whatever they want in an event. Anyone can be the lead, we don't need to root for them and we can still enjoy the story. In my opinion, hero and anti-hero are big words that shouldn't be used to describe most characters.
It's not just patience, it's a consumed crew slot.
And you don't have to hit a rough financial patch to be financially responsible. Certainly there are people out there who make more money than me and have no dependents, but to support these costs being so high there must be a lot of people who are making very poor financial decisions paying this much instead of investing in their future, etc.
If you are good with resource management (which is what this game is about mainly), can level up and freeze crew efficiently that consumed crew slot argument is a crappy one, sorry. Many so called problems vanish when playing planful and with a clear strategy. On the other hand, yes, that DB limits crew slots in a collection game **tsk tsk**. Despite the reasons they give for that.
Financially responsible and poor financial decisions is judging and your personal opinion. We all have our bills to pay etc. But people also have, dependent on income and other factors, reserves for entertainment. Some people drink their brain out every weekend, others even buy drugs, some prefer to pay for their entertainment here. To each their own. For what people spend is their business alone, after all they work for that cash, not you.
Also as said: DB gives out enough freebies for all kinds of players to be able to enjoy this game. They have offers for all kinds of budgets. Furthermore many, you also, call it a simple mobile game, others meaningless pixels etc. So if that is the true opinion many peeps should simply stop endlessly begging for more of those meaningless pixels Begging for freebies is as uncool as showing off how wealthy someone is. And also endlessly crying about limitations the game produces is silly. Which are easy to bypass with the right approach to this kind of game...

Very few people are asking for freebies. Almost everyone is simply asking for ways in game to earn crew slots, Tuxedo Nog, and other things. The freebies that DB gives out costs them no money and it makes players happy. Happy players are much more likely to spend money. When DB gives out freebies they are making a business decision and a smart one at that. DB resolving these issues is why I keep spending money in game instead of spending my money elsewhere.
I don't think people are trying very hard for this one; I've been playing rather indifferently, failing about 1 in 4 missions, and still have a current rank in the low 500s.
I'm not excited about this Tucker, at all, but since I'd be sending shuttles anyway, I thought I may as well send ones in the Event factions since I can always use Science Experiments and Encoded Communique.
Not really trying, and looks like I'm going to end up with him anyway...
Definitely a light event. I haven't set any overnight alarms, haven't sent any double-up overnight shuttles, and had work/family cause me to be late on several waves of shuttles across all four days so far, and am still inside the top 700.
I didn't really want this 1/5 Tucker filling my crew slots, especially with all the crew that need to be thawed for the upcoming mega. Oh well... lots of Augment faction farming at least.
I don't think it is a light event so much as an event with almost no bonus crew. I almost never have shuttle fails, and I have had an inordinate amount this event. I see it in the scores and the in game chat amongst the fleet they are having the same problem. I generally end up top 500 or so, but I will be lucky to clear top 2000 this time.
Kind of like DB gave us limited bonus crew, and turned up the difficulty to 12.
I'd go along with the few bonus crew thing. Some may find it easy, but I've had a very large number of failures and I'm still doing better than average. The VP scores are lower than average which says more than my actual position.
This event hasn't been too bad for me. I've been in the 500-700 range since Thursday. I have had to use quite a few 3* command boosts though. Running Augment shuttles exclusively.
I'll be happy to get this Trip since I could use the buff in Eng/Sec for voyages.
This is easily my worst faction event in quite a while. I've been doing poorly, but my goal is top 1500. I may not make it but it will be close. Still, with all my failures this event and without extra boosts and a late jumpstart, I should be doing worse. I think this is a mildly contested event.
I was going to pass on this event until my first try at Q got me a Trip. Oh well, might as well get another one.
Same. Then I bought the $9.99 offer and the two event packs got me two more Trips. At that point he went from a character I didn't care about at all to a mandatory top-1k finish.

Ha, funny how things work out. Whereas I airlocked eight Klaas.

However, I also got a 2nd star for Mirror Data, and a first copy of Mademoiselle de Neuf!
Still not happy about needing to spend 18k honor to finish Q, but hard to be too upset.
