If you are full f2p and have not been playing for a really, really long time at 4* FF she will still be pretty solid shuttle crew.
At 4/5, based on the stats in the wiki, she's 742 base command and 802 base dip. That's like... an *okay* purple.
On my VIP0, with those 4/5, she does not rank in my top 10 for either command or dip. At 5/5, she would rank in the top 5 for both, but I would actually freeze her with that if she were a purple as I only keep the top 3 out due to space.
I also plan on freezing here once she is ff/fe....never thought id see the day when id actually freeze a legendary crew...
I think we've fallen into the blind habit of just automatically citing the mega-legendary, but...why??
Most players have plenty of 4/5s and 3/5s that I'm sure are more deserving of an add'l star. In the grand scheme of things, she is SO unworthy compared to far stronger cards...the fact that she's a mega doesn't mean she should jump to the front of the line for citations. Plus, after this month she'll likely never provide bonus for any future event. (Even mediocre T'Kuvma is Klingon and Discovery crew.)
It's a different story for newer players where Minuet would be among their best DIP crew, but for the rest of us, she's as SilverRose said...just an *okay* purple at 4/5. Come the end of the month, I'm opting to airlock her trashy *snip* for the add'l 2,250 HONOR rather than burn a precious citation on freezer meat.
At 4/5 I have better purples that are vaulted. I threw a cite on her on my VIP0 assuming that I will vault her since space is at a premium there. On my eXo account, I bought a DYS for her also so that I can vault her.
edit: as to why I'm bothering to vault her vs. just airlock her, well, she could still have some utility one day in a collection or in an event where holograms are bonus. I play to collect them all.
That is also my thinking, and i bring in about 50,000 honor a month so it really isnt that hard for me, and i do wanna freeze her instead of her taking up a crew slot, and i haven't come to the point where i can airlock a fe legendary, at any fusion level...one day maybe but for now that is the plan, and now that i really think about it, it may be less frugal...might give it some more thought!

Didn't you stop spending after your experience with customer service last month? If you don't mind my asking, what made you change your mind?

Oh, I have stopped. Like I said, I had some itunes store credit from gift cards to burn. I used that to DYS. I get that is still "spending a lot" to many, many people out there. For me, though, I used to spend about $200 a week on this game - often more between $100 event character deals and the Tuesday 3/3 packs. Dropping $25 is the most that I am OK with now.
When you have guests for dinner you don't serve them **tsk tsk** because it's "free", right? So please stop serving us terrible "free" mega event crew, thank you.
I've never complained about over-powered mega event legendaries. Who are these heretical ones? See what they've done to us? Ask for rubbish and rubbish is what you get!

Complaints about over-powered Megas come from people with lots of 5/5 as it weakens (sometimes substantially) their competitive edge. Although I am not one of the unnamed large ocean going cetaceans, I kind of get it.
Ru’afo totally blew the ENG category by stomping all previous 5*. I had previously slowly cited DaVinci to 5/5 to fill my SCI/ENG gap. With Surak I decided my biggest gap was ENG so I spent all my honour leveling Romulan Data who was already 2/5. Then along comes Ru’afo who blows them both away. Now I’m not complaining as I can always use more 5/5 at this stage but I see why they don’t like it.

You sir hit it right on the head! About Rufie, i had about a month earlier spent a little over $200 on a single pack to get Lorien ff, who was the best eng base at the time. Ended getting him 4/5 and Annorax (a good sci card btw) then cited him to 5/5...only to have a 4/5 (not counting if people dyc or cited hum) Rufie shipped out to everyone. So to recap...spent $200 for a great legendary eng card, one month later a better eng card is given away practically for free to everyone...yeah that was sort of sower but i considered it as a way to boost my eng crew severely, still wonder to this day if spending that money for Lorien was a smart choice...
Well, we all have that. I don't see a single Medical primary crew in an event for about 6 months after I started playing, so I was slowly citing my super-rares which took up all of my honor. Then along comes Katrina Cornwell, followed shortly by Bell Riots Bashir, and Mirror Phlox turned up in an event shortly after I bought him from the Faction Centre, and all that honor was wasted.
So we all make choices based on our crew skills and sometimes it seems to be all for nothing. But to be fair, you still have a huge engineering base compared to mine, and that's an advantage I will never have.

True, which is why i still wonder to this day if my purchase was a wise one...part of me sees that as i couldve spent that $200 on 2 $100 event deals and got (most likly) 2 ff legendaries out of it, another part says it wasnt wise at all and that money couldve been used for better real life things, and then another part says it was justified...what can i say i liked lorien and i got a 3/5 annorax out of it, who i took to 5/5 with all that extra honor from dismissing the blue crew...

First, I’m not sure why you think you will never have a huge ENG base. In total, I’ve probably spent about the same as JIL above but over a two year period of monthly cards. So it’s not like I’m buying $100 packs or even DYC... Just slowly honour citation leveling of legendaries. I mean my Super DIP Sato is just one star off FF which I reckon will happen sometime during the skirmish event as I blew my honour on a star for crappy Minuet already.
Second, yeah it (unspeakable word that vampires and vacuum cleaners have in common) that we spend honour on characters for skills that get blown away by a free mega event character. But it has to really blow if you spent hundreds of real dollars getting crew you think would give you an advantage only to watch that advantage evaporate (kind of like Polywatergate). Now I feel for these people (a little... I mean they are using a tonne of cash to whoop my butt so I can’t be 100% sympathetic).
I would also offer a bit of friendly advise if you are still doing what you described above. Stop blowing your honour on SR and let them slowly drop and immortalize through free portal pulls and voyages. Try to save all your honour for some super useful 5* crew like DaVinci or whomever you have that best fills your current skill gap. Surprisingly, Cornwell was my highest DIP despite it being her secondary skill. That’s why I picked Uber DIP Sato (she does for DIP what Ru’afo did for ENG) to level as my current priority.
But it doesn’t change the fact that Minuet blows... I just realized a 1/5 Gloria is way better than my 2/5 Minuet...

The part about not dropping honor for srs...also spot on, havent spent honor on a sr cite for...cant even remember when!!
Minuet will still prove useful for mid to lower level players and a possible early immortalised legend for some. Its appreciated that the 'whales' help Db's justification to support this game with their spending but its also good to see possibilities that allow less stronger players to progress who may not be fortunate enough to acquire a DaVinci, Prof Sato, Gloria or Lorian at 5/5 or 4/5 levels.

Absolutely... but as I have tried to make clear... I’m not anywhere near being a whale. Two years strong and nowhere close to VIP 14. I agree with what you are saying with the two caveats:
1. Less stronger players would benefit just as much if not more from getting a free 4/5 Mega with better stats than Minuet (heck just give her Gloria’s stats and it would be much better). Just as all us non-whales got a real leg up with Ru’afo. So that doesn’t quite make sense as justification. To a player with few 5/5, a stronger free mega would make a much bigger difference to their roster than to a whale who likely has many characters that are stronger already.
2. It doesn’t change the fact that Minuet’s stats really do rank lower than whale poo at the bottom of the ocean.

I drop honor for new super-rares that drop at 3/4 in factions and skirmishes. They are either useful (rarely) or taking up a crew space. I run voyages for the additional stars on everything in the portal.
The rest of my honor gets saved. I've got quite a bit now. Just waiting for the right card to drop a bunch onto.

The ‘what if’ game is one that's hard to stop playing. What if I had gotten Gary Seven from that Tuesday pack instead of Spider Barclay? Even with a nearly-free Ru’afo and immortalizing Mirror Cochrane with citations, my ENG crew wouldn’t be as good but I would have a gauntlet monster and an even better SCI crew. Would I have been able to finally get the 1st place achievement for gauntlets? Would Gary Seven’s SCI/SEC boost for voyages have led me to cite Warship Tuvok instead of Klingon Janeway? If Ru’afo hadn’t been overpowered and I got Gary Seven instead of Barclay, would I have lamented losing out on another good engineer?
Who knows...what I do know is that the sting of losing out on Gary Seven has been mitigated by now having a robust ENG crew that works really well for voyages and shuttle missions.

That’s great and similar to what I do. If I may be bold enough to suggest one small variant knowing that you aren’t spending money and assuming you buy the monthly DIL card (which is the price of a Starbucks coffee so not a huge investment).
Assuming you’ve bought your fourth shuttle and all the “cheap” crew slots, save all your DIL for pulls for the event character on faction and skirmishes. There is a good chance that they will drop (and occasionally you luck out with the 5* event character) and thus getting you your 4/4 and freeing your crew slot without wasting honour. If they don’t drop, then by all means honour the heck out of them and free up that crew slot.
That’s what I do and it works pretty well and let’s you accumulate honour faster for those useful 5/5 like DaVinci or Sato or whomever you have. You might also try extra hard on events with a great 1/5 (like the ones above) so you can get a copy you can cite up. Again, it gets back to part of the reason I have so many 1/5 on my roster.

Agreed, and I'm in the camp of DB should be commended for using an "easily obtained" 5* to improve the mid/low level player experience.
In Minuet's defense for those players (and I'm not one of them):
She's actually usable in the Gauntlet, especially for those players who don't have Gauntlet heavies. Yes, there are other crew that will stomp her, and no, her proficiency stats aren't fantastic, but her trait frequencies are pretty good based on the stats posted here. This will give some midrange players at least a fighting chance to survive some Gauntlet rounds and earn some creds.
Her ship evasion boost, relatively speaking, is not bad, and while I'm not a fan of Shield Repair, this will also help newer players climb Arena ranks and survive in Skirmish elites. Again, are there better cards, of course. Do low/mid players have them or can they readily FF them? Probably not.
Assuming a mid-tier player w/decent fleet bonuses, her FF Voyage score is better than 4*s.
Ditto for her Faction value, even considering that she won't be useful in an Event again until the next time Holograms are featured.
So basically all around, with a reasonable amount of effort and little/no cost, she helps improve the game experience for low and mid-tier players. + marks for DB. For the elite, nothing's going to kill us to pause a week from endless stat creep...

Yeah, I’ve thought of that too; it’s a pretty good work around... but must stick to my conviction (obsession) with minimizing money spent. I mean a monthly card gives me a little more than four pulls to get that 4* character for half the price $5. And I usually get a bunch or honour and the occasional useful card and 5* as well as a result.

Yup...Tuesday packs are a real gamble. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you end up eating ramen for a few weeks.
I know she is weak for most established players, but, as a mid range player without a large number of FF golds, I am going to cite her. She will become my 3rd best DIP, 4th best COM and best combined for AND faction missions either way you order them. Every character can't be a game changer but my crew (midrange player) is better than it was before so I can freeze a lesser card.

Yes...but i do know for a fact thay i wont be spending $200 on the tuesday pack again for a reallllllllllllly long time..no what ifs about it.
Yup...Tuesday packs are a real gamble. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you end up eating ramen for a few weeks.
Yep...the forst 2 packs i got gave me...lorien and annorax so i thought 'hey...keep spinning that wheel!' Never doing it again...sort of like when you spin the dabo wheel more than 7 extra times and dont get the 5 star...done that...never doing it again.
I don't get the devaluation of paid for 5/5 crew argument.
If you've got the best ENG card in the game and I haven't but then after a Mega that reward crew is now the best you still have the top 2 ENG crew- still a huge advantage in Voyages and shuttles compared to me having just the one, even if that is the best one.

I mean...yes i totally agree...but id have liked at least 3 months before the power creep showed up...but like the borg, power creep is like a storm...it cant be stopped, or reasoned with.

Minuet is weaker and free, and somehow still causing issues.
There’s plenty of room for a happy medium. Yet minuet lands well outside of it.

So basically all around, with a reasonable amount of effort and little/no cost, she helps improve the game experience for low and mid-tier players. + marks for DB. For the elite, nothing's going to kill us to pause a week from endless stat creep...
Yes...but i do know for a fact thay i wont be spending $200 on the tuesday pack again for a reallllllllllllly long time..no what ifs about it.
I usually buy the 10 dollar offer.. its a small price to pay imo...but then i can see the appeal of honoring em
TYVM....MY thoughts prezakly
Yeah, I’ve thought of that too; it’s a pretty good work around... but must stick to my conviction (obsession) with minimizing money spent. I mean a monthly card gives me a little more than four pulls to get that 4* character for half the price $5. And I usually get a bunch or honour and the occasional useful card and 5* as well as a result.
You know what would help mid-tier players even more? A decent 4/5 mega event crew.
Yup...Tuesday packs are a real gamble. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you end up eating ramen for a few weeks.
