It adds Episode 8, the current event crew, and settings for starbase proficiency bonuses. As usual, please let me know if something is not working correctly!
Is it just me or is there a glitch on the missions page? With Friends Like These is my only remaining non-completed in Episode 4, but the "Crew Members Needed..." column is showing results only for the previous mission, For the People.
Hey Leshy, I have Cadet Sito Jaxa, Enterprise-D Picard, Dabo Girl Leeta, Lt Naomi Wildman, CMO Crusher, Nurse Kes, Festive Jadzia Dax, Security Chief Worf, and Major Kira as active crew for cadet missions and Lt Commander Data unfrozen for this weekend's event. I have Away Team Archer, Commander Chakotay, Commander Riker, Promoted Sisko, Recovering Spock, Seven in Blue, Ensign Ro, Ensign Sato, Ensign Seska, Lt Tasha Yar, and Persis in cryo. The sheet is recommending Enterprise-D Picard for freezing but has all the rest of my active cadet crew marked as active, reason to keep: cadet roster. When I mark Picard as frozen and Sato as active, it marks her for airlock/freeze. Is this behavior intended?
I do have a number of other crew marked active and a few rares frozen, but those I listed above are all the uncommon crew I have.
I have also reviewed the Cadet Roster, and it should now be up-to-date with the newest 2* crew in, as far as they are needed. I also had a moment of inspiration and realised how to work the various possibilities for the Diplomacy cadets in, so Gaia Odo is now also on the Cadet Roster as he should be. The sheet should now recommend the following for the the regular cadet challenges:
Why doesn't copy-paste with sort by version work for me? It only works where I have one char pr version. But as soon as I have more of them, then my owned ones clump together out of alphabetical order. So if I sort by version, then copy paste, the new form ends up having characters I don't have. Am I missing something?

Not necessarily intended, but a consequence of the way the sheet works for these particular missions. If you have all of the crew that can do the Diplomacy missions for the cadet roster, the recommendations can get a bit weird under certain circumstances. Just ignore them in this case
Also, just in case it slipped by unnoticed, the Terran Empire trait was stealth-patched in on Mirror Mayweather and Mirror Beverly Crusher.
It did indeed, thanks for the heads up! Also stealth-fixed in the current sheet and will be in future versions.
I also noticed, while investigating why my Mirror Jean-Luc Picard wasn't showing up as crew capable of clearing Material Assistance (CMD Node 1), that he's missing the Starfleet trait. Quite a few mirror characters from Enterprise and TOS eras were recently given that trait. It was another quiet patch a week or few ago, so I'm guessing it slipped by a lot of folks. You've got it on Mirror Data, Mirror Mayweather, and Mirror Beverly Crusher, but not on (I'm just going to abbreviate "Mirror" as "M" now since it's doing that weird thing where it stops looking like a word) M.Archer, M.Spock, M.Phlox, M.Uhura, M.Empress Sato, M.T'Pol, M.Tucker, M.Kirk, and M.Reed.
Anyway, back to why M.J-LP wasn't showing up as crew for that mission. You've got his skills on the Stats page as Diplomacy, Security, and Science. My M.J-LP has Command instead of Diplomacy. ^_^
Thanks for the heads up on the Starfleet trait, stealth-added to the crew listed. I need to do a VBTR (Very Big Trait Review) at some point anyway, so this is very helpful!
The calculations to check which crew can pass which nodes can be made much more accurate by adjusting for trait bonuses.
Hey, and thanks for the suggestion.
It's something that I had actually considered before, but there were a few reasons that I decided against it at the time, such as not all the bonus values being available and bonus traits frequently matching required traits (meaning no to little change in recommendations).
The most important reason, however, is that not all the traits are actually in the sheet. Originally, only the traits required to pass a mission and the race traits were added in. I have added in more traits for recent crew, but the old ones are likely missing a bunch that may be used for such bonus checks.
However, I have actually started to go over all the stats and traits against those currently on the wiki to have up-to-date and complete stats in the sheets. Once that is done over the next few versions, I will definitely have another look at adding in trait bonuses and probably use your suggested solution.
In the meantime, version 1.85 in the OP adds in the latest event crew.
So I made a copy of this and notice that some crew are listed as Airlock fodder before I even filled in anything. Including a few 4 and 5 star crew. Is Harry Kim really that useless or is it a bug?

Hi there, Bigguy! long time no speak Its a good guide, but a guide only, like I mainly use it that way, but with voyages and so forth, a lot more comes into play, also what you need in skills for shuttles etc.. and what space you have, this spreadsheet covers nodes and so forth as what crew you need for that in the missions tab.
I generally work towards freezing any crew (if I have the space) - airlocking only when necessary for 'much needed crew' for example. There's also the Top 100 crew spreadsheet which covers voyages and a bunch more things, the spreadsheets do different things, so they're all handy.
So I made a copy of this and notice that some crew are listed as Airlock fodder before I even filled in anything. Including a few 4 and 5 star crew. Is Harry Kim really that useless or is it a bug?
A character listed as safe to Airlock is not necessarily useless – it means that they do not meet any of the criteria that the sheet checks for.
To take Orion Vina as an example (the only 5* listed as 'Space' from the outset):
She has 1126 Diplomacy and 866 Science. That means she is not among the best five 5* crew for either skill (she is actually #7 for base Diplomacy, behind Zhian'tara Odo, Admiral Kirk, Harcourt Fenton Mudd, Desert Philippa Georgiou, Dahar Master Kang, and Dancing Uhura; she drops further down the list when proficiency rolls come into play).
With proficiency rolls of only 218-426 and 109-268, she is not a particularly strong Gauntlet crew.
Her traits are Costumed, Orion, Romantic, and Desperate. None of these traits are necessary for any locked mission nodes in combination with either Diplomacy or Science.
As such, the sheet tells you that you do not necessarily need her and/or that it is safe to airlock her, as doing so will not cut you off from any requirements that you have not met. Of course, she still is still a 5* crew with pretty high stats, so if you do not have any of the better crew listed above, you should probably not get rid of her.
If you were to have her FF/FE (or close) and marked her as 'Active' on the sheet, the sheet would change its recommendation and tell you to now keep her as she'd likely be (among) your best Diplomacy crew.
And yes, Harry Kim seems to get the short end of the stick in this regard, as the above also goes for several of his variants from the start.
Hi,
I tried to download and save the file as a xlsx. file, but when I open it I am getting an error and it attempts to repair the document. Any suggestions?

This is a known issue when downloading Google sheets to Excel. Found this possible solution here:
"Go to the download folder, right click the file, click properties, click 'Unblock' (or something like this). Now it should open like normal."
Can't guarantee that'll work for you, but someone else on that page was having the same issue and reported that having worked for them.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"

In addition to what Data1001 said above, note that the sheet uses several functions that are available in Google Sheets, but not in Excel (such as FILTER and QUERY). It is very likely that these will not correctly convert to any working result.
Hey, newbie here. Why exactly do I need the characters marked as "DIP 3* Base" or "DIP 3* Max"? Also, what exactly does it mean?
It's on the setting page and can be turned of.
It's about keeping 3* characters with biggest Base Skill in DIP for shuttles and biggest Base+MaxRoll for critting/hitting nodes. Useful for new players that don't have big enough 4* or 5* crew.
@Leshy , great work in keeping this up & going. It's worth an "inconceivable" amount of gold-pressed latinum to me. I do have a couple of questions, though, regarding the following situation:
On the Missions sheet, Episode 7 Mission 13 (E07M13) shows as "Death's Endeavor". When I go to E07M13 in-game, I see "Garak's Gamble". I double-checked to make sure that I had selected "Romulan Star Empire" as victors in Episode 7, refreshed the Missions sheet, and still no luck.
Q1: Should I manually adjust this in the Data Validation/Pivot Table? Because I'm scared.
Q2: Does this affect the crew that might be needed for Episode 8?
Thanks, and please keep this going. In all seriousness, this is one of the most valuable resources for STT that I have so far encountered, since I started playing 1 year ago today (SpaceDawg, whoop!).

Hey ~peregrine~, thanks for the kind words! I'll send over a Ferengi to pick up the gold-pressed latinum
If you picked the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance for the victory of Episode 7, then Mission 13 is Death's Endeavour, an Away Team mission with a locked node requiring crew with a specific stat/trait combination. If you select the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in the sheet as well, then 'E7M13 - Death's Endeavor' is listed as an active mission and the sheet will use it for crew requirements.
If you picked the Romulan Star Empire victory (which you apparently did), then Mission 13 is Garak's Gamble. As this is a Space Battle mission, this one is not included in the sheet. When you select the Romulan Star Empire as victors in the sheet, 'E7M13 - Death's Endeavor' is listed as an inactive mission (in gray text) and it will not be used for any crew requirements.
The sheet should thus be working as intended and you do not need to make any changes. Each mission's requirements are calculated entirely on their own and do not affect any of the other ones; the recommendations for Episode 8 should be just fine.
Thank you, @Leshy. I now understand that the gray text means not applicable, given my victory selection. Because, seriously, pivot tables are way beyond my Lotus 123 WYSIWYG skillz.

Hey @Leshy, I suspect you're in the middle of your great trait audit and already caught this, but in case you haven't: while hacking my copy of the sheet to add Torchbearer Voq, Mariachi Q, and Prisoner Michael Burnham, I noticed Rifle Janeway is missing the Starfleet trait.
I also noted there are no Prisoner or Xenoanthropology trait columns on the Stats page, but I think you mentioned above somewhere that some traits aren't called for by any missions and so their absence on the sheet is a moot point. Ignore this if that's the case. I only mention it in case they were overlooked after all.
It makes completing the Episode ever so slightly easier, as Space Battles are easier to finish than Away Missions. It's not that large an advantage that I would really recommend it though – go with whatever choice suits you better
@Baarogue, thanks for the heads up. I am indeed going through the Great Audit, and there's a LOT more crew that are missing the Starfleet trait than just Rifle Janeway, I can assure you All traits should be in once it is finished, however.
On that note, version 1.86 is now in the OP, with a whole bunch of the new crew and more updated old crew!

Well that seems obvious now.. Thank you, seems to work perfectly. Now I just need a new version :P

You're in luck, 1.84 is available now! Not a major update, just adding the latest Mirror Universe crew.
Other new crew will follow once the stats are available, or when the next event rolls around after Christmas or so.

Merry Christmas!
Regarding the Mirror Picard thing: D'oh! Fixed.
Merry Christmas too!
Example:
Sheet: "Stats"
Cell: "EE2"
(Cytherian Highway)
=if(and($D2="Science",$M2+IF($Q2="x",94,0)>Data!$D$2,or($Q2="x",$AN2="x")),$A2,"")
adding the bolded bit will add the trait bonus for crew with the android trait
Cell: "EZ2"
(Pretense of Mercy)
=if(and($D2="Science",$M2+if($AF2="x",87,0)+if($CO2="x",87,0)+if($CU2="x",87,0)>Data!$D$23,or($AF2="x",$CU2="x")),$A2,"")
adding the bolded bit will add the trait bonus for crew with the civilian, resourceful, and/or smuggler traits
