Apparently people took exception to the fundraiser.
I’ve been insulted, accused of hacking, doxed and personally threatened.
I got a cold harsh lesson in what the world really is like – from mooches demanding support without the modicum of self-documentation all the way to people full of malintent that blatantly abused my work to cheat or gain unfair advantages in the game.
I've spent money, but I'm done now, not that it will matter to DB but betting 100% there are legit cheats/exploits out there. Only way to explain the millions on various events I've seen the top players have. IE, the top ranked on my game would have to do 1,500 shuttle runs minimum to get 6.1 million
Not sure about this Forum, but on a lot of game Forums, it is a TOS violation to accuse someone of cheating without proof.

Don’t be mean! Abuse of other community members, which includes other players as well as Disruptor Beam staff, will not be permitted. This includes any racist, sexist, homophobic, threatening, harassing, or other personally offensive or derogatory comments. We are all human beings and deserve respect, especially online. We find it 100% unacceptable to abuse any member of the community.
I agree, shows just how bad the world is becoming where people threaten over a tool/forum post. World is becoming a horrible place.

The app couldn't make players cheat. But it could be forked, to add cheating features. Real cheating features.
Nice try, his coding was open source and others seem to have modified it to gain an unfair advantage. I know you voted against i. No way was it a cheat than anyone using spreadsheets or making voyage calculators. But not going to waste my time arguing with you as it's obvious where you stand with the tool and you are ok with others threatening members.
If this is true then it is probably a good thing that the tool was purged. but then I have to ask the question why it wasn't purged before?!

To those who abused him - you are petty and pathetic and you make this community poorer for it. If you dislike the community so much, please find somewhere else where you can be happy.
I have no problem with those who felt iampicard was a step too far, even if I didn't share that opinion. I do have a problem with those who felt it was OK to personally abuse and threaten the creator of IAP. Shame on you.
I am sure most people will be horrified to hear you got abuse and allegations levelled at you. I am really sorry that that happened to you. It's inexcusable.
Again, thanks for the effort you put into the tool and for sharing it with us. I guess we will grind on the drudgery without it, but it takes some of the gloss of the game to have lost it that's for sure.
But again and most importantly ; you should NOT have had to put up with any kind of abuse or threats.
This makes me SO angry. Not that the tool itself is gone, though I used it often in the last couple of months, but more for what it represents. This was a small, loud group deciding no matter what anyone else had to say about it, the tool had to go at any cost and, among them, someone deciding that rather than wait for DB to decide internally whether they found the tool acceptable, to take it upon themselves to do whatever was necessary to make sure it went away.
I fear this will drive many away from the game. I must admit it makes me want to play less. I thought the player base was a supportive community that really wanted to help each other. It seems now I was wrong.

There was a web interface, however the entire thing has been shut down due to attacks from a vocal few.
Thank you Tekman for creating what was a beautiful tool that made playing so much more pleasant. I'm not sure the game will last much longer on my device without your tool - it made so many elements of the game more palatable and helped me better understand some of the strategies I could use to play the game.
It was an exe file. For mobile, only the website version was available. If you still have the tool installed (I uninstalled it already) then you can use it until tomorrow but after that it will be out of date and the server will not accept the iampicard client (due to the forced update). So without the developer supporting and maintaining the tool, there is absolutely no reason to have the tool installed anymore.
Not that it will bring the site back, but on a human level I wanted to give some balance to all the negativity he has apparently received.
Part of the challenge of the human psyche is that one negative voice will drain more energy than ten positive voices can give you. I manage people for a living - and sadly, when I leave at the end of the work day it's almost always that one person's negativity that has stuck with me and drained me.
I'd also venture to guess that he received more "how dare you" messages than "thank you," since it's human nature to take things for granted. I myself never said thank you, despite using the tool religiously for months now.
I think that the overall saddest part though is that despite your tool being used by thousands of STT players, encouraging many of them to play when they would have given up, there has been no comment from Disruptor Beam.
Surely it would not have interfered with your assessment of IAP to have provided a few comments to correct some of the more ill informed negative comments and abuse of the author? For example that he had corresponded with you during development to ensure it did not conflict with terms of use. Confirming that the post and link about the tool had been left on the forums to show your consent rather than your ignorance. Then maybe there could have been discussion without abuse. @Shan
I used it daily to help set up my voyages and gauntlet runs as well as the crew management side. I don’t do gauntlets to try to win I just farm so it was a great way to run rounds quickly and without having to log in. I can set up my voyages fine on my own, it was just a very helpful tool to make it easier.
To echo what others have said, thank you for all the hard work, I appreciate it as do many others.
Ban the $ and the game would be finished for all.
If it’s true that people used Iampicard to cheat, that is justification in itself for removing the program.
If the maker was being threatened etc, that is really improper and I hope he gets retribution for that.
