Most names for characters with several versions, follow the pattern <modifier> <character name> (all words in title capitalization), the modifier hereby describes what version we have here. It can be eg a rank (Captain Q), a species (Human Q), a profession (Florist Q) or title (Judge Q), an activity (Mariachi Q), some situational description (Angel I Riker), an adjective (Desperate Riker) or a person as which the character poses (Sheriff of Nottingham Q, Data Q).
So, 'Q as "God"' does not follow this pattern and is clumsy, but is at least still correct (details see below), but the bigger problem is the completely wrongly named Riker Q! The new character version is Riker as a Q, so he had to be named Q Riker (equivalent to Mintakan Riker, Human Q, Klingon Quark)! Riker Q would instead be the character Q posing as Riker.
This is very apparent looking at next week's Data Q (Q posing as Data). So, we have Riker Q and Data Q, but their names follow totally different meanings. (one is Riker, none is Data)
Details for God Q:
So, 'God Q' would perfectly describe the character as Q posing as (a) god or posing as (the) God. It would definitely not make him the God. 'Q as God' would be basically the same, just not following the pattern that basically all other character versions follow.
Putting God additionally in quotation marks, can add two meaning, first a literal name, so to make clear it means the one "God", not just some god; or in a pejorative way like the so called "God". If this meaning is desired, the name could have been '"God" Q'.
So, any way, 'Q as "God"' is a very clumsy way to name him, unnecessarily breaking the naming pattern without making a real change of the meaning. But on the other hand, some religious people seem to be happy about that name. That's funny, because some people would say religious people can be happy about things that not necessarily are proven to be real.
I like "Pyschopomp Q" best, but my actual preference would be changing it to God Q to be more consistent with other crew members.
While we're asking for important changes to the game, please also rename "Riker Q" to "Q Riker". You have the adjective on the wrong side here, and are implying that it's Q posing as Riker rather than a Q version of Riker.
Have you people got nothing better to do with your lives?
Life.....What is this “life” you speak of? How does one obtain this seemingly elusive “life”?

Sorry but I find this whole thread pretty Ridiculous. why?
First, it doesn't say Q is God, it says Q as God, meaning he is portraying God, not actually God. Should we change the name of Oh God you devil the movie? because its not actually God but an actor playing God? just plain silly.
Is the name tedious? I guess, but it is pretty accurate, and if you do a search, use God, I really don't think it is going to be a long list
And as others have pointed out, Doesn't DB have bigger fish to fry? Plus at the end of the day its a game, not reality.

Do you think DB....is using Butter to fry those bigger fish?

Totally agree. If this name is what you have to worry about in life then I want your life. Mine is way more stressful to think about such petty things
Can this character please be renamed to ‘Afterlife Q’? Q As ‘God’ is just a terrible name.
It is what he is called. Why change it just because you do not like it? If you are one of those easily insulted religious extremists, it is NOT saying Q IS God. The "God" is in quotation marks in his name.
"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."
A reminder to be respectful of others, this has been mainly the case in this thread and I am grateful.
However I sense this trend might not last long so I am closing this thread.
Thank you for all of your feedback, the name will not be changed.

God as "Sybok"?
Of course not, otherwise we wouldn't be playing games to waste time in the first place.
