Good luck in the event to all this week folks. I hope Voq gets some use by us all.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to putting Voq to good use, too.

    Agreed.

On a new note is anybody else considering pulling out Smiley for this Event, after Undercover O'brien the base stats on the other purples are quite weak.

I keep Smiley out for Arena. I'm noticing new Tyler has better bases than 1/5 new Archer. I'm considering Tyler for the share, which I did not expect. It will depend on the seats.

    Edit:
Smiley gets beat by 5/5 Ru'afo, Etana, and Determined Janeway from mega events and 5/5 Proto Barclay from campaign. If you count stat boosts, then Smiley is close to the top with a blue ENG boost. I wouldn't thaw him unless you missed those mega events. And I would wait until we see if there's enough ENG seats to justify the thaw.
    Farewell 🖖
  • @Shan Did you change time settings for the event start?

I found an announcement for 16:00 UTC = 4pm GMT (Greenwhich Mean Time = 'normal' winter time in the UK) and right now its already 15 minutes after it and i can not start the event.

UTC remains ALWAYS the same ... (no wonder, as Servers and the internet is using UTC for synching)

Do you mean for ENG solely?

There is Prisoner O'Brien, Chief O'Brien, Klingon O'Brien, and Test Pilot Archer that will give you a better bonus in ENG way before Smiley would, if people have them that is.

I was thinking mainly for ENG COM

I would use TP Archer for SCI ENG and Klingon O'Brien for ENG DIP combinations I wouldn't like to tempt fate with EV Archer in and "ENG and COM" Seat, I do have Ru'Afo available as non bonus crew however.

I was actually going to go for that EV Archer for that combo! I'll let you know how that goes!

Clock is off, because of the Time Change last weekend.

    <17 minutes now.

Ugh, one pull, got O'Brien, remembered why I hate packs.

Sorry for vacuuming up your luck...I got an all-FF behold, Tyler, and then got an Archer as the last drop in the pack.

Weak as the purples are, Smiley is weaker yet. So far, now that I am beyond the kickstart and into running regular S31 missions, the only non-event crew I seem to be using is Tenavik on a COM/SCI slot. In the spirit of full disclosure, my immortal RAF O’Brien is owning the ENG/COM slots with ease.

I don't have a lot of event crew so I have Smiley out. He's on a FED mission with the new Tyler and with a skill boost they do fine on that shuttle. I'm running a mix of Federation and Cardassian, they have the best seats by far. I looked at s31 and that was an instant nope, not worth it. One shuttle is at 85% all others are at 98 or so with skill boosts With only 6 event crew for 4 shuttles (including the new Tyler and Smiley) and a quality squad share it's really not that bad.

As usual DB gives the best seats to the underdog faction, I don't think many people realised it, but it makes a huge difference from running the audience's favourites.

As usual? For some weeks we had the same shuttle seats for all factions ;)

Also there is no underdog faction. People run the faction(s) where they are short on certain items.

But sure, when creating an event DB scans the inventories of all players and makes the one with the biggest need the worst, lol.

Your DB bashing is not only old but ancient by now. But well, it is clear why you do it ;)

You're clearly on a witch hunt, I never implied that was a bad thing. You did. But sure keep it coming, keep using bad faith arguments and assuming the worst, it's clear I'm not the one with "issues" here. :D I'll keep informing people about good shuttle seats and you keep looking like a fool.

I immortalized Imprinted Archer. I would have done it anyway. But he has not been as useful as I would have liked.

I started failing at the 2750 mark! I'm currently at 4000 and failing 1/4 missions. I guess we were spoiled by all the bonus crew from previous faction events, I've got most of these (save a few 5*) and I'm floundering.

Good, I thought it was just me. I’m having to use legendary boosts on my 4th shuttle just to get it to over 90%.

The dearth of bonus SCI crew other than Desert and Test Pilot Archers has had me send both Gary Seven and Prof Sato as well. I can see why some are avoiding Section 31 missions.

There’s at least one, maybe two MED seats that he fills excellently. I think I also once slotted him into an ENG seat when all of the O’Briens were busy with other things.
  • Does anyone else feel like the faction mission writing quality has dropped off for the last couple events?

Last time (phase in final Mega), it seemed like the missions had almost nothing to do with the factions they were assigned to. This time, it seems like they all very minor variations on a single theme per faction.

Fed: Do such-and-such "to get parts for the beacon Captain Archer is building"
Card: Do such-and-such "to determine if the Cardassians shot you down"
31: Do such-and-such "to find the true purpose of the mine"
  • Prime LorcaPrime Lorca ✭✭✭✭✭
Several of us wanted more variety in the missions and not the same seats in each faction. I wonder if this is where they saved some time.

I assume that Imprinted Archer is a solid choice for the MED seats ... he's the only event crew with MED, wish I has him.

I'm running SEC31 one day (Thursday) and today Federation shuttles ... will probably switch between the two throughout the event ... doing okay (around 400 with shuttles coming in in 15 minutes) with the crew:

    Archer
    - 1/5 Desert, 1/5 EV Suit, Xindi and North Star all on shuttles.
    - 3/4 Test Pilot Archer is seeing work.
    - 3/4 COP Archer is unused.
    Didn't bother defrosting Mirror.

    Tyler/Voq
    - all three 4*s seeing work.
    - just finished levelling the new Tyler ... at 2/4 FE will probably see work, will be 3/4 when the next shuttles come back.

    O'Brien
    - 5/5 RAF (sweet!), 2/5 Augment Commander, Klingon, Undercover (and Undercover share from squad leader) all seeing work.
    - 4/4 Prisoner and 4/4 Chief aren't seeing much work outside of ramp-up.

    Non-event
    - MED seat (Qod) and Tenavik, both 5/5.

Run 4 shuttles per go and the only ones I avoid are the 5-seaters, ran a quick ramp-up to 4000VP so I could run good overnighters. Haven't been paying attention to the shuttles and set-up so probably not sending out optimal arrangements.

Odd, after retrieving my overnight missions (4/4) success at 8000 VP a piece, I sent out four 3 hour shuttles. They came back with 3500 VP each. (Never seen that happen before)

Did you pull those shuttles from the previously opened pile? I’ve done that a few times and facepalmed myself
