I just hate having to clock in every 90 minutes / 3 hours. I do have a life, and if I do something with my family for a few hours, it can put a serious dent in my ranking.
But you can set your shuttles and extra shuttles to 9 hrs if busy then make up any lost points with time boosts when you have the time.

It can definitely be awkward, but it's manageable. I finished around 800 last faction event, despite spending 12 hours at a charity event on Saturday, and have a bunch of errands + family dinner on Sunday. Just had to time my bathroom breaks well, and if one was delayed, then time boosts were used on the next one, as long as it made sense.
In whatever event we got the she-armus, sorry I mean the ba'ul. I went tent camping and didnt have internet for 18 hours and was not even able to set a 9 hour because I didnt know I was going to lose reception until way late. I still got the she-armus, but my stock pile of shuttle requisitions and speed ups are still suffering.

This is of course a very real issue, except that it's not. I'm not trying to single you out here - many players have made similar complaints over the years (including me, I think). But... If you cannot devote the necessary time to an event while others can, then you will likely not rank as well as others. We've all been confronted with this reality at one time or another. I would never suggest you sacrifice your work/family time in favor of STT, but if you choose (or are forced) to have a life away from the game, then that's the way it goes. I've had events where I could not compete at the level I would have preferred because real life got in the way, but in the end, real life is more important, no?
Truly, I understand your point. I just don't know how else they can structure a competition that doesn't require us to, well, compete.
Hey, @Travis S McClain , did you make note of the fact that Little John Riker will presumably be the 800th card? I seem to recall you keeping up on that with a list, once upon a time.... 😉

We chatted about this in the game privately, but figured I'd comment here in case anyone else has any interest in such minutiae. I project Little John Riker will be #800, added on Monday, 11 November but I don't have him down as such. However, it's entirely possible that next Tuesday's pack will have two new crew or that the next event will introduce a new 2* in its thresholds.
I do still have an up-to-date checklist in case anyone wants to use it! All I ask is that you copy it and check your copy instead of the public one.
Here are the previous century milestone crew, spoiler'd for length. In most cases, multiple crew were added on the same date. I've referred to the forum announcements for the order in which they were listed in those, but that seems entirely arbitrary. Also, regarding dates: I have ignored instances of crew members reported in dabo tables and instead gone by official announcements.
#100 1/14/16 Impossible to say; there were 137 crew at launch.
#200 7/21/16 Ensign Vorik, Ensign Mendon, Captain Dathon, Private S. Money
(announcement)
#300 12/14/16 Danara Pel, Warship Chakotay, Admiral Cartwright, Gul Madred
(Shan's announcement)
#400 8/14/17 Katrine, Nyota Uhura (announcement)
#500 2/13/18 Suus Mahna Sarek (announcement)*
#600 9/5/18 Army Chaplain Odo, Elizabeth Dehner, Ensign Picard, Dr. Leonard McCoy*
#700 3/26/19 UFP President Ra-ghoratreii
*Suus Mahna Sarek was the rank reward 5* in "The Vulcan Response" and ought to have been added on Monday, 19 February 2017. However, all players were sent a free copy in our inboxes prior to the start of the event on Tuesday, 13 February. Despite this, DB officially recognizes him as the 500th crew member.
** Army Chaplain Odo and Elizabeth Dehner were added via "A Changeling in Time"; Dr. Leonard McCoy and Ensign Picard were added to the Voyage loot table. If we defer to the time stamp of Shan's posts and the order in which she listed them, Dr. Leonard McCoy was #600.
Why should the new Riker be added on Monday , November 11th?
He is ranked reward, so he will be added nxt Wednesday(like every new ranked event leg crew), with the server push, just before the event screen comes up and with luck being available on ur dabo as well. @Travis S McClain

Event Name: Secrets in the Desert
Event Type: Faction Event
Event Crew: Desert Archer 5* (New), Torchbearer Tyler 4* (New), and Undercover O'Brien 4* (Existing)
Event Dates: Thursday 11/07 until Monday 11/11 at Noon (17.00 UTC)
Ranked Reward 5*: Little John Riker (New) - this crew will be featured event crew in the event starting on 11/14.
I assure you, I do know how server updates and dabo tables work. I also know how to conduct thorough research. And since you brought it up, here's how I did that research and why I find it appropriate to assign the dates that I do. Spoiler'd for length, and also since it's a bit off-topic.
I disregard dabo because reports of crew members turning up there are not reliable indicators of when they were officially added to the game. You're probably too new to know it, but once upon a time, crew members used to populate on dabo tables well before their official announcement. That was sometimes a matter of weeks. Note the plurality.
Then there were the crew who were added not via event, but rather time limited packs. Those weren't always on Tuesdays, or even the same day of the week at times. These seemed even likelier to turn up earlier than they were added to the vault. Consulting First to Max dates was pointless. You're probably too new to know this, either, but Citations and the Honor Hall weren't always there. Feel free to look up every crew member's FTM date and cross-reference the old forum for the earliest dated post of when they were spotted in the wild.
On top of that, it was unreliable even to find the first forum post of anyone turning up a crew member in a dabo table. Searching the old forum was never reliable, and also there was no way of knowing when things turned up for players who didn't bother posting on the forum at all. There is the Wiki, but a lot of crew members circa 2016 don't have dates at all. Some that do had dates after the first post I could find. I corrected a few of those, but mostly I just forgot to do that.
My point of delineation became "When did DB regard the crew member as being properly circulated among the player base?" rather than "When was the first time someone could hypothetically have lucked into them?" Following that reasoning, I regard time limited crew as not being properly circulated among the player base until their packs go on sale. It makes sense to me to extend that to ranked reward 5*'s as not being properly circulated among the player base until their events end at noon on Monday (except when an event ended on Tuesday, obviously).
But by all means, you're welcome to do the research and reconstruct the data to your liking.
Fact is, a crew is added to the game as soon as it is in the vault and available(even if its only by dabo), if you like it or not.
Quite often a leg crew that is ranked reward is already maxed on Wednesday or Tuesday or Friday(by dabo), but by ur logic the crew is only added to the game by the following monday(quite the impossible right, since you can t max a crew
if it isn t added to the game yet?).
You can, of course, do whatever you like for ur database(and thx i indeed have my own database),i just thought it was an oversight by you.
This is something I'm curious about as well. All Tylers have the Voq tag, however, Voq does not have a Taylor tag.
Voq was Voq before Tyler was put in him or whatever. Tyler was Tyler before and after. Or. Voq came with Tyler after the. Operation? Then somehow Voq was killed or removed at some point? So that means.....oh no. I’ve gone cross-eyed.

It's more than a bit overcomplicated, but basically - Tyler was a real human who was captured and killed by the Klingons. They then took his memories and implanted them into Voq, making Voq think he was Tyler, at which point they surgically altered him to make him look like a human. So the Tyler we know on the show is actually a surgically altered Voq with Tyler's memories. Initially, Voq's knowledge of his true self was suppressed, but in the second season he has full access to both sets of memories, creating a unique combination of the two.

I still don't get why they moved Tyler's memories into Voq's brain and then changed Voq's body to replace Tyler's rather than just not kill Tyler in the first place and move Voq's memories to his body. If it was too late to save Tyler's body, why not just not kill the next captive? It's not like there were no others. Hell, they could have used Harry Mudd. It'd be like Dr. Frankenstein building the monster and then giving his brain to an already functioning human body. I enjoy Disco, but sometimes the plot twists are just soap opera level preposterous.

Indeed! Maybe it is due to the synchonization to German but I got it all wrong when I watched the series. Or maybe I was too distracted to realize it as I cannot bear watching DSC without doing something else in parallel (all those expressed emotions in the worst possible moments...). Anyway I thought they put Voq's concience into Tyler's body additionally to his own and not the other way around.
Not that it makes more sense that way, rather less to be honest. But in any case thanks for the enlightment!

I hear ya! I thought there was some kind of full body transplant surgery or something. It was a bit confusing
Interesting debate but if we go by chronology, Torchbearer Voq is before he has the real Ash Tyler memory engrams added/overlain/fused/boot-laced to his own. So in theory Tyler is always a Voq variant (unless the real Ash Tyler get's revealed and has his revenge in season 3). But Klingon Voq (i.e. pre-surgical changes both neurological and physiological) is just Voq.

a centuries-old Changeling who'd made it all the way to the Alpha Quandrant and somehow got stuck in a solid state while impersonating Tyler?
Are there any bonus crew who have odd names and would not show up in a basic search?

Shan, could you please confirm if Voq will be considered as a version of Tyler in this event or not? Thanks!
