Jury-Rigger-Collection finally finished, what next?

The important(?) collections are finished, at last.
I have now to decide what to focus next as there is no major collection left.
Best choice would be the Gauntlet Crew, but my Caretaker is only 1/5 and in the other collections there are some purple crew, 2/5 or 3/5 that would be more easy to finish.
Hmm, any suggestions?

You have other pictures?
No, I was answering your question ^_^
I assume that is because in English, 'Sherwood Forest' is a proper noun that actually exists, the actual name of something in the world. It would be described as 'Sherwood Forest' in any language.
The rest of the collections, i.e The Big Goodbye, are just nouns and adjectives that can be translated.
If you have excess honor, and 1 collection that requires 1 purple 4* cite it may be worth it for you. But of course this entirely depends on your stockpile of currencies vs. the reward.
The milestone rewards are not worth the honor cost for gold 5* citations (with the exception of holodeck collection when the next reward is janeway. Bcuz you get a 1/5* crew for a 5* cite. That is if you only need 1, 5* cite to complete a crew for the next reward that would be the copy of janeway.
ETA: Congrats on your achievement!
That sounds kinda reasonable, but when I try to think of other real-life examples, that’s not true. For example, the region that the Germans call “Schwarzwald” is known to English speakers as the “Black Forest”. Some more perusing around the Internet reveals several forests whose names are one thing in English, and another in the native language. At the very least, even if the Forest keeps its proper name, the word “Forest” is translated into English.
I’m not saying I know the answer or anything. Just raising a few questions. (I might be the only one who finds this interesting...if so, apologies! 😁 )
Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest are exactly the same in german.
Why Schwarzwald is translated properly into english but not Autobahn (for example) is still a mystery
Star Trek just has a way of bringing people together. 😉. Thanks for the lesson!
Well...hmmm...I’m not sure I agree entirely. I am certain that the German phrase for the Black Forest isn’t “Black Forest.” The fact that I am using the word “German” instead of “Deutsch” likewise says that proper nouns can and do get translated into other languages. “Sherwood” almost certainly wouldn’t change but I am mildly surprised “Forest” didn’t get translated, especially as all of the other titles got that treatment.
I myself would prioritize finishing The Caretaker for that last 1% bump in SCI proficiency. A lot of players insist Gauntlet jackpot crew drop regularly enough this is a waste of Honor, however. I'd rather not leave it to that much chance for four more copies. It's unlikely for any time in the foreseeable future that he'll be attainable any other way. On top of that, he's handy for voyages. At least, he is in my crew. He may be negligible for yours.
Personally, I don't have anything for the former. The latter I can do work on Odo (yuck) but would rather work on BestRiker or Kim (I don't have either).
I'll probably work on the Bond Collection next because I have Honey at 2/5, Bashir at 2/5 and Garak at 4/5.
English has always, and still does, adopt many words from old Germanic, French and other languages around the world into normal use English, but didn't always follow a rule pattern on usage. Not that that answers why 'forest' wouldn't be translated as per the others. That's just probably an unintentional DB call.
I am a TEFL teacher, teaching English in Asia, and I've found English is pretty tough to learn as a foreign language; trying to teach the grapheme ea in 'stream' , and then in 'great' for example!
Languages are cool, but can always be tricky!
What we need is some form of ….. Universal Translator !!
Anyway, I have been holding off citing any gauntlet crew because as soon as I do, one will drop, and I don't want to feel like I could have put that cite somewhere else! I have had Picard, and Fierce Guinan drop once on a voyage, and that was a very long attempt , not something I do too often for these crew specifically - so I would think about voyage crew once you get one copy.
- Xindi Insectoid (2/5): good voyager
- Sphere-Builder (0/5): good voyager
- Degra (4/5): good shuttler
- Loque'eque Sato (1/5): ... hmmm, yeah, not really but hey, to complete.
--> not sure which 3 you are missing though ...
- Sherwood - you don't have other crew options, so scrap that idea.
- Play Ball - weak 5* crew ... and you have no options
- Chaotica - same, even though you might have options.
- Wild West - you have 1 left, but in general not the best crew.
- Bashir - Weak 5*s after Honey Bare and Falcon.
- Holodeck - has some decent crew ... but you have no options left ... getting Lucille would be neat though, so pick up those crew in beholds ... one of the better options is not in portal through (Chef Riker) but you'll have to cite some duds to get Lucille 5/5 (unless you cite her).
- Originals - some good crew for voyages that can be cited (Yar, Assimilated La Forge, Prince Bashir) but plenty of duds (Convergece Day Quark) ... keep in mind that it goes 9 immortal, 11 immortal, 13 immortal and 15 immortal ... so two per tier ... high cost for the rewards.
- The Big Goodbye - both Gloria and Satin Dress Sloane are good voyagers so this is another good collection for game value ... I'm missing Sloane otherwise I'd have this collection completed.
--> So, depending a bit on the crew you own I would go for either The Big Goodbye, Delphic Expanse or Originals. You can cite up good crew for the game (e.g. voyages) and boost collections.
Bashir is himself weak but you may want another MED/SEC/DIP. I know I do. Garak has unconventional stats, traits and decent total skills.
- I'm guessing the 4th the OP has left is Durango Troi (3x 4*s and a 5* we all got for free) ... who has good base stats but is CMD/DIP/SEC (as is Uhura) and that's probably not the most pressing area for improvement that most players have ... most people don't rate North Star Tucker highly (I did and cited him ... but he's kinda a short term investment).
- If I needed help in MED for voyages I'd chose good crew to cite rather than crew associated with collections ... same goes for Garak ...
Hence the advice to cite good voyagers who are part of a collection ... but it is hard to know who those 8 crew (not counting the Caretaker) are that the OP can cite ... be better if they listed all 8 crew ...
Frank Hollander is a pretty weak crew - at 4/5* he has my 19th-strongest base COM, and that’s behind four three-skill crew at 2-3/5*. Still, he’s the only Data with COM and that is bound to come in handy in Data events.
sometimes the proper nouns get translated, but in general they dont... dont ask me why...
i think its also a personal reference...
and sometimes there are so many translations possible,it would just not make any sense-> "robin hood" for example, there are a lot of possible translations for "hood" depending what you want to say... and i dont call him "robin kapuze" for sure;)
you dont say "donald ente" in german, its allways been "donald duck" and a brownie allways been a brownie, same with "sherwood forest". i think they are just adopted into the language
i´ve never heard someone saying "black forest",all english people i spoke with translated it to "schwarzwald" because "it is how the people call it who are living there, and so should we"
one of the most funny moments i ever had when i try to translate some words into english and a "british gentleman" tryed the same in german... hilarious...but after an asian family joined in very interested,we lost it completlyXD
but hey,we all came together, had a great time (even tho we got to communicate a lot with our hands),and thats all what matters!
why you english guys call it "pretzel" instead of "brezel/bretzel"?
and i know a "b" isn´t even a small hurdle for you;p
why translate this?
(i hope it is readable somehow,my english is pretty poor...)
According to the OED, the English “pretzel” probably comes from English speakers’ hearing the pronunciation of “b” in a southern regional German dialect and thinking it was a “p”.
That’s what I would do, concentrate on voyages and let it come naturally.
oh,yeah, forgot about dialects... this could be it:) thx for this answer
also depends on the region if you write "brezel" or "Bretzel"
and after they "translate" asterix&obelix from "german" into saxon dialect, everything is possible:D
...and if you can wait long enough, maybe wait to see if they do the premium packs for honor sale again this year too!
Just wanted to point out that Age of Sail Data handily beats Hollander for data CMD, though he's the only alternative and was a pack only crew originally, though he's now in portal.
