Is EV Suit Seven the Sledgehammer for Gauntlets? No.
Are there players that don't have the better options people have listed? Most definitely yes.
A medium tier Gauntlet Crew is better than having to run all 2 🌟/3 🌟 Crew. At the start of Gauntlets, I have faced 2 🌟/3 🌟 Crew. Sometimes that is all the player has. I have even thrown a NMS Crew under the bus, so at least that player gets one win.
In the thread about 2 🌟/3 🌟 Crew, someone even suggested having a separate Crew Quarters with a few Spots, and a "training" Gauntlet limited to 3 🌟 Crew and below.

Oh, March is maybe the biggest Trek birthday month of the year. The top names: Gates McFadden (Beverly) on the 2nd; Ethan Peck (Spock), also on the 2nd; James Doohan (Scotty) on the 3rd; Jolene Blalock (T'Pol) on the 5th; James Frain (Sarek) on the 14th; J.G. Hertzler (Martok & others) on the 18th; Sonequa Martin-Green (Burnham) on the 21st; William Shatner (some guy named Kirok, I think) on the 22nd; Leonard Nimoy (Spock) on the 26th; and Marina Sirtis (Deanna) on the 29th.
That's a lot of birthdays. The only March holiday that comes to mind is St. Patrick's Day, so O'Brien has a shot. I'd lean a little more toward birthdays, though. The new Picard series is a possibility, but any of those characters will only be about a month old. I don't look for that to happen.
I don't think Kirk has had a campaign yet, so I think that's the best possibility. Has TOS gotten a campaign yet? Now would be a good time for Kirk and Spock both. I vote for Gladiator Spock and Roman Captive Kirk because they are thematic and relatively strong crew. But if DB wants to go all weak sauce, I suppose they could do Kal-if-fee Kirk and Kal-if-fee Spock.
Would Gladiator Spock be too OP for consideration in a campaign? Queen Po and High Roller Sisko are the high water marks so far, so it’s not entirely out of the question. And as much as I want to immortalize and freeze my 1/5* Kal-if-fee Kirk, I can imagine the torches and pitchforks coming out if such a weak crew were put in a campaign.
Admiral Kirk might not be a whole lot better, with only two skills, but perhaps he could be paired with Professor Scott, Captain Sulu, or Lt. Chekov rather than Kal-if-fee Spock. And I don’t say this entirely because Admiral Kirk is the only other Kirk I haven’t yet immortalized.
If O'Brien, I'd like to see Augment O'Brien as 5* because he's 1/5 for me and would give me a threshold reward for the "Timelines Originals" campaign. Falcon O'Brien or RAF O'Brien would be nice other options (even though I have them immortal, but I'd possibly level a second Falcon).
If Gladiator Spock, then Roman Captive Kirk should be the 4*, I think.

There was a Captain Spock and not a campaign but Dr. 'Bones' McCoy. So I do not think TOS. But, with the birthdays you can never tell.

Professor Scott was in the same campaign as Professor Sato. September, I think. I think it was back to school themed or something.
I'd be cool with a 5* Bev. Any of them, I don't have any immortalized. Not too worried about 4*, unless it's Dress Uniform Beverly. I don't think we'd get her this early, though.
