Who are YOUR top 10 crew?

calsnowskiercalsnowskier ✭✭✭✭✭
Who are the top 10 (or so) crew for you? Specifically, for YOUR crew. I am not asking who you think will help you when you get them or who is your favorite card. But who gets the most action for you?

For me...

1) First Officer Burnham - she is on most voyages (maybe 2/3?) and even gets weekend shuttle work without a bonus. IMHO, the #1 most useful card in the game.

2) Gary Seven - he might just be my most-used voyager. Regardless of voyage-skills, I often find a spot for him. He is also elite in the gauny. In a bonus-free environment, he is a clear gauny-starter.

3) Ardra - she is boring since she is one-dimensional, but she is key on 2 of the 3 Arena ships. IMHO, the CLEAR #1 4* card in the game.

4) Indulgent Seven - Much like FOB but with a different skill set. She gets quite a bit of bonus-free weekend shuttle work and finds lots of voyage work (maybe 50%).

5) Merry Men Troi - better skill set than Dr 7, but the numbers are slightly lower. Still a strong voyager AND weekend shuttler.

6) Defensive Phlox - the unquestioned med go to in the gauny, and still gets about 20% voyage play, even at 4/5.

7) Q as “God” - beast of a med voyager. Can carry his own weekend shuttle with bonus. His skill set is a bit crowded, though.

8) Warship EMA - In my crew, he is pretty one-dimensional, and even there, tends to fall behind Dr 7 and Qod (med voyager). He is a solid card, I just think he is not as elite as his reputation dictates.

Honorable Mention - No single card from here stands out over the rest. A bunch of very good cards, though...

Trimble Scotty
Ishan Chaye Sisko
Gladiator Spock
Wrathful Kirk
Year of Hell Janeway
Interfaced LaForge
Captain Killy / Rura Penthe Commandant / Garth of Izar
Caretaker / Armus / (Guinan is too new for me to really rank here and I don’t have Locutus)

I have mine ranked relatively against all others in my roster. I assign points on a scale of 0-7 for base skills (7=best base, 0=8th or higher) and a scale of 1-10 for combined (10=best combined 0=11th or higher). I then add up the ranks to provide a metric for my best crew:

    1) Timekeeper Tenavik (5/5) - Best CMD base, 2nd best CMD combined, 5th best SCI base, 6th best SCI combined

Joint 2) Alternate Future Jadzia Dax (5/5) - 5th best ENG base, 7th best ENG combined, Best SCI base, 3rd best SCI combined

    2) Determined Janeway (5/5) - 2nd best ENG base, Best ENG combined, 3rd best SEC base, 10th best SEC combined

    2) Kol of House Kor (5/5) - 5th best CMD combined, Best SEC base, Best SEC combined

Joint 5) Mirror Jean-Luc Picard (5/5) - 6th best CMD base, 3rd best CMD combined, 5th best SEC base, 3rd best SEC combined

    5) Prisoner Katrina Cornwell (5/5) - 3rd best DIP base, 7th best DIP combined, 4th best MED base, 3rd best MED combined

    5) Q as "God" (5/5) - 2nd best MED base, 2nd best MED combined, 6th best SCI base, 7th best SCI combined

Joint 8) T'Kuvma (5/5) - 3rd best CMD base, 4th best CMD combined, 6th best SEC base, 5th best SEC combined

    8) Tuxedo Nog (5/5) - 7th best CMD base, 8th best CMD combined, 2nd best DIP base, Best DIP combined

    10) Dr. "Bones" McCoy (4/5) - Best MED base, Best MED combined

I wish the auto-sort function actually worked for this.

    In no particular order:

FO Burnham (5/5) for me as well. Not much in Voyages, as I generally never get her traits, but definitely in ALL shuttle runs

Kamala (5/5) – generally in all shuttle runs

Prof Sato (5/5) Top DIP – always on a shuttle

Picard & No1 (5/5) – Has been top SCI since that Mega. (Surak & Tenavik also get used a lot after Picard/No1 goes out)

Annika Hansen Seven (5/5) – has been on many Voyages & shuttles, and I would bet many more if they would add the Borg trait like they should.

EV Suit Seven (5/5) – used about 85% of the time, mostly Voyages so far.

Captain Spock (5/5) – like, every Voyage ever!

Prisoner Katrina Cornwell (5/5) – on nearly every Voyage as well.

Captain Beverly (4/5) – since upgrading to 4/5, she gets to go on almost every Voyage.

Queen Po/Determined Janeway (Both 5/5) – Tie for the final spot, as they interchange or work together constantly. If one is on a Voyage, the other is constantly on shuttles.

    Honorable Mention:
Lt. Cmdr Icheb (4/5) – surprisingly versatile in the game, has been used a ton since we got him
Klingon Bride Jadzia (5/5) – there are days/weeks she goes unused, then there are days & weeks she is on every Voyage (like this week – last 5 voyages in a row)
Gloria (5/5) – just because her combo with the rest of the arena crew make that combo nearly unstoppable
I want to become a Dilionaire...

I'm fortunate enough by now to have a lot of the overall tops (First Officer Burnham, Gary Seven, Locutus of Borg, etc.) so it'd be uninteresting and lazy for me to just name them so here are ten of my less obvious picks:
    1. 1701 Jadzia Dax
Integral to my shuttle crew for two years. Still crushes it in Dax events. And has been Featured in five herself.
    2. Assimilated Troi, Changeling Bashir and Doctor La Forge
MED/SEC is still a weakness for my Voyages. It wasn't until I got Ba'ul and Torpedo Surgeon McCoy that I could finally freeze these three.
    3. Dr. Hippocrates Noah
If not for Q as "God", Dr. Noah would still be on MED/SCI voyages.
    4. Time Loop Mudd
Strong event value so far, and staffed a slot on my ENG/SEC voyages until some time last year.
    5. Undercover O'Brien
Can't beat that crit boosting ship stat. Literally; you can only tie it with Ardra. If I wasn't running empty ships in the Arena, he'd be thawed right now.
    6. Waitress Ezri
Mirror Phlox was an Arena killer because of his ship ability. Problem is, everyone had him, so it was an obvious red flag to see him in an opponent's crew. Ezri here did the same thing, but was overlooked.
    7. Cadet Sito Jaxa, Ensign Pazlar, Ensign Seska
Gotta give props to the original Riker's Angels, without whom I would not have 3-starred those M-F cadet challenges and could not have frozen all my other cadets until we could warp. Special shout out to Sito, on whom I have surely spent the most merits thawing for her exceptional bridge crew scene value.

    Awesome lists!! Keep ‘me coming...
  • Dirk GundersonDirk Gunderson ✭✭✭✭✭
This is a totally unscientific list, mostly just my own perception of who rocks it on a constant basis. Most of these probably aren’t going to be a surprise:

    1) Gary Seven. Those who have known me long enough probably recall what I went through to get him, so he pretty much has to take my #1 slot. Voyages, shuttles, and gauntlet use helps too.

    2) Borg Queen. As far back as she goes, she is still a critical member of my crew for both voyages and shuttles.

    3) The Caretaker. Although he is not as desperately necessary on voyages as he was when I first finished him, he’s probably the most important gauntleteer I have.

    4) Warship EMA. I now have some doctors with even stronger bases and higher voyage scores but the utility the EMA provides is undeniable. Having two of them is just sublime, particularly in events like the one we just had.

    5) 6) Protomorphosis Barclay and Mirror Cochrane. I put them together because they have been the anchors of a disproportionate number of voyages since I finished them. ENG/SCI is obvious, as probably is ENG/SEC, but for a long time they filled in on other voyages as well.

    7) Crell Moset. My first immortal 5*, my best doctor for at least a year, occasional gauntleteer, and even a longtime arena fixture. He’s been power-creeped pretty badly and even then still manages to be a useful contributor.

    8) Warship Tuvok. Believe it or not, he was the best citation target I had for SEC crew at one point. And even though I have amassed a large number of better SEC and SEC/COM crew, he still finds use on a daily basis for shuttles and has been a better-than-expected contributor for events to boot.

    9) 10) Yarnek and Surak. Again, I’ve got stronger DIP/SCI and SCI/COM crew these days but they have been hugely important to voyages, shuttles, and the gauntlet over time.

    1) Killy - skirmishes
    2) Killy - Discovery mega events
    3) Killy - CMD/ENG and CMD/SEC voyages
    4) Killy - more skirmishes

    5) Caretaker - gaunlet and voyages
    6) Locutus - gauntlet and voyages
    7) S31 Georgiou - events (also, I have four of them)
    8) Decoy Kira - Events and voyages (this may not age well, but she's don't some work the past few weeks)

    Honorable mentions for voyages:
    Cheesecake Seven
    Torpedo McCoy
    Warship EMA
    Dr. Pollard
    DF Paris

    Rev. Phlox

I will add Garth, Bell Riots Bashir, Evolved Janeway
Have to add Captain Scott for skirmish. Captain Spock has been useful too.

All my normal shuttles (non faction event) are 30 seconds or 2 minutes return time except Federation which is 30 minutes because they continually win faction events. So no crew are important for normal shuttle runs.

Edit: I see I missed your inclusion of Garth @calsnowskier

    For 5*

    Gary Seven (Voyage + Gauntlet)
    FO Burnham (Voyage + Factions)
    Assimilated Hawk (Voyage)
    Mycelial Culber (Voyages)
    Tribble Scotty (Voyages)
    Surak (Voyages + Gauntlet)
High Roller Sisko (Voyages + Factions)
    Prof Sato (Voyages + Factions)
Warship EMA (Voyages) - especially for the Holo trait
Determined Janeway (Voyages) - not the strongest card but her traits really make her useful for AM

For 4* - Only one really - Ardra for her crit and she beats out O'brien with her accuracy vs evasion

    Honorable mentions
    Cheesecake 7
    Amelia Earhart
    Braxton
    Wrathful Kirk
    Prisoner Cornwell
    Mountaineer Spock
    Garth
    Dr. Pollard
    Borg Queen
Delta Flyer Paris - Hes the only one in this list which I have at 4/5 and he still gets on voyages (Romantic, Pilot, Tactician and Gambler are surprisingly useful traits)

Hmm... since I employ a different philosophy compared to many players, my list has 2 groups. I don't send 3-skill crew on shuttles so this opens up a group that most wouldn't consider. Anyway, here ya go.

    For daily shuttles:
Laborer Spock (5/5), Gladiator McCoy (4/5), Dress Uniform Scotty (5/5), Captain Pike (5/5), Convergence Day Quark (5/5), Dr. 'Bones' McCoy (4/5). These are basically my top crew in their skills, so they are on almost every shuttle wave.

    For voyages:
Borg Queen (5/5). Still gets on a lot of voyages in either the CMD or DIP seats.
Warship EMA (5/5). I seem to get the hologram trait in a MED slot every other voyage.
RAF O'Brien (5/5). Not necessarily more often than other ENG crew, but far more often than his raw strength might suggest.
Caretaker (5/5). Like O'Brien, his raw stats have been eclipsed a bit, but his skill utility and trait matches often make him the better option.
High Roller Sisko (5/5). Hard to avoid his huge SEC score.
Wrathful Kirk (4/5). But when I'm not using HR Sisko, I'm using Kirk.
Surak (5/5). My default for a SCI seat unless the skill matches are better for Honey Bare, Proto Barclay, or Armus. (My Gary 7 is still at 3/5, so this default workhorse may change someday.)

Honorable mention to Locutus (5/5). He gets on a lot of voyages due to trait matches, in a lot of gauntlets (because... um, isn't it obvious), and is my key crew for skirmishes and Admiral arena due to the early shield pounding he delivers.

Ask me at a different time and my answer might be different, but these are the top 10 I came up with now, not in any particular order. All are immortalized.

    1. Prisoner Katrina Cornwell
    2. Gary Seven
    3. Locutus
    4. Captain Killy
    5. Interfaced La Forge
    6. Reverend Phlox
    7. FO Burnham

    #7 Stranded Quark
    #8 Tactical Neelix
    #9 Juliana Tainer
    #10 Sparkles

    Honorable Mention

    Boothby
    High Roller Sisko
    Picard and #1
    Tribble Scotty
    Ishan Chaye Sisko

    Science Officer Spock

My rankings are mostly based on Skirmishes, Voyages, and Gauntlet. Having an immortal Killy will save you countless hours of your life tapping in mindless skirmishes farming honor. Once you hit around level 60 you can maintain 75% shuttle pass rate with immortalized non bonus crew so marginal utility gains from shuttle crew become almost negligible. I'm not a big fan of galaxy events so a crew's galaxy event utility also doesn't factor in much for me.
  • Bylo BandBylo Band ✭✭✭✭✭
If this is based strictly on favorites that see a lot of use, here is my list, in alphabetical order. I'm kind of all over the place, but I take shuttles, voyages, Arena, and Gauntlet seriously.

    1. The Caretaker (immortalized): Essential to any Gauntlet team, I bring him into the Gauntlet 100% of the time, no questions asked.

    2. Dahar Master Koloth (immortalized): His semi-rare combo of strong Diplomacy and Security helps distinguish him from the large pack of Com/Dip/Sec crew as most of those crew feature strong Command scores. Additionally, D.H. Koloth has relatively low proficiencies which make him ideal for shuttles when he is not on a voyage, I'd say I use him every day in some capacity.

    3. "Dark Ages" McCoy (immortalized): The only crew I am aware of that get all three skills over 1,000 for voyage purposes, he is a powerful and versatile Swiss Army Knife for literally 50% of the voyage combos, and as a result he makes a lot of voyages for me.

    4. Defensive Phlox (1/5): I've kept him at 1/5 because I don't seem myself using him for anything but Gauntlet, but he makes my Gauntlet team 98% of the time as he is very useful against The Caretaker in non-Engineering battles, and he has a strong record against Mirror Phlox, Nurse Garland, and Sulan as well.

    5. Evolved Janeway (immortalized): Not the most powerful card, but she makes quite a lot of voyages and shuttles for me with her strong base scores. Plus, Janeway.

    6. Indulgent Seven (immortalized): VERY strong card, Indulgent Seven is the closest thing to the total package I can think of as she counts for both Seven and The Doctor for events, has strong skill scores in a useful combination, and has so many traits that she almost always gets an antimatter bonus on voyages.

    7. Locutus of Borg (immortalized): He has lost favor with me a bit for voyages (I hope to elaborate on this in the coming weeks/months) but he is still arguably the best card in all of STT. Depending on my mood/ability to pay attention he makes some of my skirmish teams, is a 100% auto-include in Gauntlet, and is pretty useful for voyages.

    8. Rura Penthe Commandant (3/5): For quite a while after his release people didn't quite realize he was to be feared in Arena, but thankfully he is more recognizable now, so flying an RPC in Arena helps discourage people from attacking me, for which I am thankful.

    9. Stranded Quark (immortalized): Stranded Quark has a unique trio of skills, and as such is instantly a favorite for me, and a lifesaver when "his" voyage comes up.

    10. Tactical Officer Neelix (immortalized): He makes a not-entirely-surprising number of voyages with his very strong Medicine score, good amount of useful traits, and the ability to cheat Security into a Medicine slot and cheat Medicine into a Security slot.
  • I have a few top voyagers at 1/5* that I didn't cite yet (FO Burnham, Gary Seven, Boothby, Dahar Master Koloth) because their skill combinations are well covered, but I'm sure that they will be in my top 10 or 15 eventually.

Right now my top 10 would be:

    1) Cheesecake Seven (very useful on voyages and has excellent event potential)

    2) Prisoner Cornwell (still goes on most of my voyages)

    3) Determined Janeway (is good for ENG voyages and has an ENG/SEC skill combination)

    4) Delta Flyer Paris (yes, he's weak, but he is incredibly useful for ENG/MED and CMD/MED voyages; I had a chance to start a dupe some time ago and I'm now regretting that I didn't do it)

    5) Caretaker

    6) Borg Queen (mostly because of the skill combination, somehow she's often the one who gets my ENG to 12.000 in ENG-something voyages or to 3500-4000 in voyages where ENG is a tertiary skill)

    7) Xindi Insectoid

    8) Mirror Picard

    9) Professor Sato / Tactical Officer Neelix

    10) Picard and Number One / Surak

I almost only care about voyages, so they're all in this list mainly because of their voyage use. Given a chance, I would start a dupe for the first 5 on the list.

    A slightly different approach:

    I'm not going to list:
    - Mega-event 5*s: have 'em all immortal except a 4/5 T'Kuvma ... needless to say, they have all been omnipresent at some stage and quite a few continue to be so. The ones I use least are Minuet (frozen), Kol of House Kor (not used anymore) and Ahdar Ru'afo (ENG base is his saving grace at the moment otherwise never used).

    - Gauntlet Exclusives: have most immortal, with only Locutus at 2/5 ... again, all 4 are omnipresent on a daily basis.

I won't list these crew because they are not that difficult to obtain and therefore will be staple crew, as they're probably amongst my top crew because of that fact. So, on to crew I've actively cited for their general use, in no particular order:

    - RAF O'Brien - first 5* outside of mega-event crew I immortalised and still used on a regular basis for both voyages and shuttles, has also been of great help for various collections ... #7 ENG base, #5 CMD base.

    - Xindi Insectoid Councilor - a voyage beast for a common skill-set but also has great base numbers and was of collection value ... #3 DIP base, #4 SCI base.

    - Falcon O'Brien - great looking card, shuttle regular with some voyage use (SEC/ENG or SEC/CMD) and again helped with collections ... #1 SEC base.

    - Temporal Prisoner Chakotay - utility man who's been outclassed by cards I don't own, still common shuttler and voyager ... #5 SEC base, #8 ENG base.

    - Dr. Pollard - omnipresent since I cited her up just before the Honor deals at the start of the year ... have never regretted it, both voyages and shuttles ... #3 MED base.

    - Away Team Saru - my second 5* immortalised outside of mega-event/gauntlet crew (also second 5* I earned through event ranking) ... slipping but has been key for eons on both voyages and shuttles ... #3 SCI base, #9 SEC base.

There are some honourable mentions, who I've not really had the time to use much, as they're only recent additions to the immortalised crew list or are slipping bet were great ...
    - Merry Men Crusher ... new, voyages, collections and shuttles; #6 SEC base, #7 MED base.
    - Warship EMA ... very new, voyages; #4 MED base.
    - AoS Worf ... very new, voyages, collections and shuttles ... has pushed out all older Klingons; #2 SEC base #10 CMD base.
    - Proto Barclay, Scrooge Data, Gloria, Assimilated La Forge, Queen Po, Age of Sail Crusher, Honey Bare Jadzia, Price Bashir ... excellent utility crew, some slipping in use (Bashir, Crusher and Honey Bare).

    4*
    - Ardra - the ONLY immortal 4* I've never frozen and I've had her immortalised since 2017 ... all others have gone to the freezer once immortalised and their event-use has been completed.

    10. Sato(shuttle/voyage)

To be honest I have a few more that could easily be exchanged with those above.

    3. "Dark Ages" McCoy (immortalized): The only crew I am aware of that get all three skills over 1,000 for voyage purposes, he is a powerful and versatile Swiss Army Knife for literally 50% of the voyage combos, and as a result he makes a lot of voyages for me.

With full starbase and collection bonuses Bashir, Julian Bashir also has 3x 1000+ scores on voyages ... for almost the same skill combo.
    MED: 1401
    DIP: 1329
    SEC: 1013
    Total: 3743

For those of you interested; DA McCoy - MED: 1519, DIP: 1059, SEC: 1150 - Total: 3728.

Yeah a while back I started a discussion on DA McCoy versus 00Bashir - the main take is that they are very similar with perhaps DA McCoy making more voyages due to better traits rather than stats.

I didn’t really think about how many traits the two share, but McCoy’s got Civilian plus the other four that both of them have that routinely show up for MED slots.

Unfortunately, I don't have either immortalised ... yet ... but, aside from traits, I guess it comes down to the other crew you're sending on the voyage ... do you need a touch more MED or just that bit more DIP to solidify 10 hrs?
e.g. my current CMD/ENG voyage has Bartender Guinan on it in a MED seat because of her DIP score (and SEC as tertiary), as it pushed the overall DIP over the "third skill threshold", pushing SEC up to 6000 and making MED come in at just over 4000 (the voyage easily made 10 hrs) ... On another day I might put Cornwell in that seat if I needed more MED instead.

I kinda underrated 00Bashir because of this actually ... just another MED/DIP/SEC crew who starts off 4 *s down on mega-event stalwarts Darth Bashir and Cornwell ... even though my spreadsheet told me he'd be a good addition to my crew ...

I don't have DA McCoy, but I have 00-Bashir. That's a deciding factor, lol. The other thing is that I struggle more with DIP/SEC voyages. I'm not ready to dump 4 citations, but if I see 00-Bashir in future beholds, he's getting higher priority now. He has more points in the DIP/SEC combo that my current Darth Bashir and Mirror Troi options.

I had no idea that 00-Bashir was 1k+ in all three stats after bonuses. My perception of him was formed in the pre-bonus days, when he was oft maligned in these parts. He's not a candidate for citations at this point, but I'll make a mental note to favor him in future Beholds.
