While I personally do not like the feature, if someone desires to use it, that’s up to him or her.
I second this opinion, its everyone's personal choice to use / not use...and i will always fight for the right of choice.

Again, the issue here is that a 3rd party company is likely collecting data from ALL of us, through the STT app, whether we actually engage with the Offer Wall or not. It’s not just a matter of some of us thinking it’s a lame feature (which it is) and demanding that it be removed for everyone. It’s that we don’t want to share our data with a shady company that we didn’t opt in, and can’t opt out of.

You're both missing the key point here. Whether you use the wall or not, your data is at risk. Simply having it installed and using STT is enough, you don't have to go anywhere near the wall itself. If you use the wall, all that changes is the degree of exposure.
Choice is key. I'm absolutely bang alongside the freedom to choose. Right now, we have no choice.
I'll cop to indulging in the offer wall - even to the extent that my cat now is subscribing to BarkBox. That said, the bridge to nowhere survey offers are trash, and the personal data collection is disturbing. So far I've just used the redirects to reputable companies and charities because I'm a little worried about all of this data mining from shady outfits.
I play a couple other games with offer walls, and this is probably the shadiest and most intrusive one I've seen. Most are like "download this game and play to X level." I haven't seen a single one of those (although I know some others have). Nearly all of these "free offers" that I see want my credit card information, name, address, birthday, and a few have even asked for my SSN. Helllllllllll no. What is this?
When someone suggested we should be able to mine for dil, this is definitely not what they had in mind.
I really like that the offer wall is tucked away in the portal and doesn't have constant pop ups.
Personally, I like the offer wall. Some of the offers look sketchy, others not too much.
I just played Raid: Shadow Legends for 1 day and got 2,900 dilithium.
I am all for this. But I will be very selective as to what offers I will accept.
While playing three of the games that were on the offer wall (Raid, words with friends 2, dragon merge) I am so so grateful that timelines does not have as many pop up offers, ads etc. Timelines is much more user friendly.
Worthless. Lame. I will not be using. I have no desire to play a bunch of new cheesy games for a dinky amount of dil. I tried the survey part: 45 minutes later, being rejected for multiple surveys, and finally closing it all out ... I never did get the lousy 30 dil.
I don't know about 'data' mining or the 'experts' that claim it is happening here. But I can assure you that I have no 'data' that is of any use to anybody anyways. LOL
Remember: it's just a game, not a matter of life and death!
Let's hope we get a response faster than we did for the And-Gate fiasco.

If people do not like the wall they do not have to use it. But for those that don’t spend or are new to the game it is a help.
The problem that we are potentially seeing (as supported by a few of us who have the ability to investigate their own internet traffic) is that even those of us who do not interact with it are having our info collected by a 3rd party without our consent.

THAT is entirely too much personal data and goes FAR beyond what any "feature" like this should EVER ask for. Anyone wanting to steal someone's identity doesn't even need all of that info to be successful but having all of that info guarantees that they are successful.

You'd be surprised, just info like your gmail address and browser searches are worth far more money than most people would ever think. That's not even taking into consideration the resale value. Any info like your REAL name, address, phone number, CREDIT CARD number, birthday and SSN are literally a gold mine. I've managed to get about 4000 dil in a couple days so I quite like it, takes some effort to avoid the bad offers though. Hopefully they can clarify what actually goes on with the data sharing and make sure that users aren't automatically having their data shared with additional 3rd parties.

If there's non-consent data collection going on, people in California and the EU may want to start getting together a class action law suit. Even if TP removed it right this second, the damage is done.
Here in the UK, there is GDPR law (basically protection from abuse of personal data being used for nefarious purposes)...
This smells VERY bad...
I'm disturbed by the amount of tickets I've submitted in the last week alone regarding the use of Trojans in recent adverts - I've had two occasions where an advert has, without ANY interaction from me, launched the Google Play Store and started to download other games! That, on its own is criminal activity.. but when I saw this "Wall" requires you to download more "games", which could just as easily be carriers for spyware, trojans and the like, I shut it down instantly.
This new attempt to mine personal data such as credit card numbers, social security numbers and the like is VERY dangerous.
TP are walking on very thin ice here...
Just the fact that TP are apparently not part of Privacy Shield (DB were) means that they are in breach of GDPR law and it's illegal for them to hold ANY data on EU or UK citizens. And that's assuming that everything about the wall is 100% legitimate, which it doesn't seem to be.
It's becoming obvious that TP are dangerously unaware of their legal obligations regarding data protection. There's a level of corporate incompetence here that's very worrying.
I've only seen one offer that I've considered and it was for a game that I actually wanted to try out for a longer time. But most of the offers in my case were "make a purchase in XY game". And the reward was like 200 dil. That actually made me laugh. I'd rather just buy a monthly card, it's easier, safer, less time consuming, probably cheaper. So far I don't see a point in the offer wall since all it tries to make me do is spend money on stupid games.
Almost every European in our two fleets are pissed off at the offer wall. It's created ANOTHER polarizing issue. I really, really want the offer wall taken down. My spending freeze will be extended. It was in the $50/month neighborhood. I'm sure they'll make more than that on the offer wall, so I'm not saying it because I think it will tip the scales. Just making it known.
Between the data issues and predatory offers, I have made it known to my fleet that I am not using using the wall and I encourage them to either not do so either or use extreme caution.
Bottom line: this is the second controversial issue that TP has imposed upon my fleets. I'm very unhappy.
And I just decided while typing this that I am done using ad warps for the next week. Again, probably a drop in the bucket, but it's the only other statement that I can make, short of uninstalling the game.

Im in complete agreement. I will shut down my spending completely and refrain from all ad warps. In my opinion, the decisions being made by this company are not going to extend the life of this game. The decisions being made are likely to kill the game entirely.
It no longer feels like a safe entertainment purchase when I have big doubts about what the future of this game looks like. I will be advising all members of my fleet that I am of the current opinion that the best purchase is “no purchase” until we see some changes to these recent trends.
It might be a stronger message to TP/WR if more people follow suit, but I will leave that decision to each of you.
I'd like to give this the benefit of the doubt, but the privacy concerns outweigh everything else for me. I trusted Disruptor Beam and now trust Tilting Point with the info needed to run this game. Information safety and integrity is extremely important to me and I'm very concerned what this will do to the game..
Take it down, if there's a way to make it work while addressing the privacy concerns mentioned, in the forums, maybe it can return in some form. We have to accept the possibility that it may be needed for the game to go forward.

I recommend finding a silver lining and getting some positivity flowing through your fleets. You really shouldn't rely on others to make you happy.

Don't even open the dil window. Nothing in there should be tapped on right now.
