Almost every European in our two fleets are pissed off at the offer wall. It's created ANOTHER polarizing issue.
Between the data issues and predatory offers, I have made it known to my fleet that I am not using using the wall and I encourage them to either not do so either or use extreme caution.
Bottom line: this is the second controversial issue that TP has imposed upon my fleets. I'm very unhappy.
I recommend finding a silver lining and getting some positivity flowing through your fleets. You really shouldn't rely on others to make you happy.
And in the end, that may be the only option.
But right now in this moment, there are plenty of players that are willing to voice their concerns and ask that those concerns be addressed.
If you don’t share those concerns, that hardly offends me. My issue is with tp/wr. I don’t have an issue with you or any other consumer having an opinion on the matter.
However, the notion that issues such as the ones being discussed here are simply “the way it has always been and always will be, therefore just ignore it” does not sit well with me and I would rather make my concerns heard than to sit silent and just accept it.

Ironically, I have also done that. We have a channel in our Discord about the offer wall. Players who oppose it have posted links to information about data security and privacy. Players who still want to use the offer wall have posted about their experiences.
When it comes to gameplay, I can keep the motivation going with the best of them. When it comes to compromising data and privacy in Real Life... That's beyond my control. Only TP/WRG can fix that. If they make things safe for the players, then fine. But frankly, I would just rather they take the wall down.
But thank you for taking the time to snipe and be petty. It does my heart good to know that at least you will always be here for me. You never cease to inspire me to impart some good life lessons upon the members of this community.
Well I still haven't found the wall so haven't had the opportunity to judge (don't know if it is hiding or not available for me yet) but i feel it will be a spam fest.
A typical poll on the forum gets 50-110 votes, from what I've seen. The highest I've seen was a poll about expeditions during the last expedition. It was just over 200 votes. This is approaching 150 votes. We may get a few more votes here, but it looks like a couple dozen people made a special trip to the forum because of this issue. And it is overwhelmingly negative. Just an observation.
So far, the condenses in DCC is to not interact with the Offer Wall at all. At least one fleetmate will uninstall STT and quit playing forever if having the Offer Wall becomes manditory, as in becoming a forced update or part of a future forced update. I have personally reverted to v7.5.2 to remove the Offer Wall from my device and am hoping that TP/WRG takes our concerns seriously so that i won't need to consider quitting the game. As it stands, i (a VIP 14+ player) have decided to suspend all spending of real money, at least, until we hear more from Shan.
Please TP/WRG, make the right choice for your golden goose, us your players!

I tried it. No big whoop. Install a game (if you're concerned, stick to well-known games, of which there are several, and don't install games that have permissions that are too wide-ranging — in other words, use the same common sense you use when doing anything on the Internet), play to a certain level or make an in-game purchase, get dilithium.
The reaction of most of the respondents here is not indicative of everyone. I have talked to a number of folks who have been taking advantage of the offers and are quite happy about it.

I've had smart phones since they started - got my ex-wife the first generation iPhone, got that as a hand-me-down at some point, and got a Motorola Droid for myself whenever that came out. Almost the entire time, I've played whatever games I could find, and, because I'm cheap as hell, I've almost never spent any money. A couple of times I think I spent a bit to remove ads, like a buck or two, but that's always been the exception.
This is the only game I've ever spent anything on in a regular manner. I get the monthly card. I get the premium campaign even if it's a crap card. For the first time this past week I actually shelled out money for a card - Warship Doctor - because why not? It's a good card, and I'll help support the game.
It's not because I don't have the money to spend. I'm not rolling in it by any stretch, but my current wife plays ESO and she spends a good chunk of money there; I've just never really had a game I enjoyed enough to justify it.
This game has been the only game I've stuck to for longer than a couple of months (except a sudoku game I have for when there's no signal). I still check in every couple of hours to take care of shuttles or dilemmas. I'm constantly thinking of which crew to work on next. I check in here in the forums every so often, and when an event is announced I'm still excited to see what crew I have that might help, and how I can level them up if I need to. I've even spent the past few months trying - on my phone, because I don't have a computer of my own - to write a command line application that will help me get better insight into my crew and where I need a boost. (Writing code is bad enough; writing it on a touchscreen is not fun.)
But this is sleazy. I felt that when the update that would allow it was first announced, before there was any talk about extra data usage and privacy policies. I've never - and maybe I just don't play the right games - but I've never seen an offer wall in a game that I trusted. It's always been in games that were obviously put out as a cash grab - clicker games, or games that are obvious ripoffs. Not games that were built on a well-loved IP like Star Trek. Not games built by companies that at least have the impression they cared about the game and the players.
In spite of the uproar, there has been ZERO actual feedback, other than a few "this is what I know guys" posts from Shan (and may whatever Qod you believe in bless you for all you do and put up with Shan). I don't care that it's been the weekend, if you care about your product, you don't get weekends - even if you're not actively working, you're keeping tabs on things, and you can't tell me no one got wind of this over the weekend. It's not like this is a few people crying over a UI tweak, this is long-time members of the community bailing out.
I'm torn. I know damned well I'm not even a drop in the bucket from a financial perspective. I'm not active in the community. Hell, even in my fleet, I only chime in on discord once or twice a week. So TP won't lose much if I bail. And I'll lose the only game I've really enjoyed for longer than a few minutes, the excitement (and subsequent disappointment of course!) of opening a premium portal pull, or getting another mega event character maxed out and on a voyage.
But I also don't want any part of this. Yes it's inconspicuous. Yes it's (at least stated to be) opt-in. But for a company to do something like this (bad enough IMO), and then there's radio silence when the community raises nine kinds of hell? This would be an easy out if it were literally any other game. But I also would've probably expected it from any other game too.
Wow they were offering me over 5k dil to try RAID.
It was sandwiched between two sketchy surveys, so i was skeptical it was really from the people at RAID. As far as I am concerned they are guilty by association.
EDIT: I decided to peek at the wall again through my fingers, and they've upped the ante to over 6k. All of the non-app related offers have vanished (im on android). Still never taking any of these up, and spending and ad warps are on hold.
Jfyi: The Amazon App on Android does not have the wall (yet). So if you are using an Android device this might be a way for you to downgrade your STT version if you wish to do so.
Thank you for this! As I had uninstalled my spyware-enhanced version I am happy for the rolled back option!
Incidentally, I wonder if the updated version was rejected by Amazon for distribution or if there is a time delay with them for some reason?

I appreciate everyone chiming-in on this. I am pretty careful with giving my info to the internet but am very naive about what apps can do with info I do not actively release. I would have had no idea how awful the wall is.
I am behind the Big Book crew who has ceased updating until this is resolved. They are my inspiration (along with those who have said they will stop doing ad warps) for how I will interact with this game for the time being.
I will not be putting any more money into this game (I’m at about $20-30/month; little— but I think many in my position will cease/reduce as well, so it adds up). I won’t be doing ad warps. I will contribute to my fleet’s starbase and then will complete my dailies as I have paid for the current campaign)— and then I’m done.
I average about 16 hrs/week into this game. Not much, but not insignificant. It is— by far— the app I use most on my phone. I expect to now put-in 30 mins/day by only checking-in every few hours to complete dailies and then get out. This would be different than my usual check-in every 30-45 minutes.
This weekend was the first in a long, long time that I was too busy to really try in an Event, and I found it wasn’t too bad to not hit threshold. I expect putting fewer hours in this game will become easier as I protest this offer wall. Hopefully TP will see less engagement by players like me as a price they’re not willing to pay to keep the wall active.
I understand TP has to be very careful with how they respond to this— but this issue should be all-hands-on-deck for them right now, and every hour that goes by without a statement is making this look worse.
It seems that protest fever has swept the forums as well.
As quickly as things happen and get forgotten in our world, sometimes one needs to protest to make a point. My post won’t mean squat to them— but seeing no purchases and fewer log-ins (and less time per log-in) should mean something to TP.
I am not at all comfortable with my information being used (let alone sold) for a few pennies with someone I do not do business with (I am sure TP has lots of my info— but I chose to give it to them by playing this game). My protest ends when TP assures us (and enough smart people corroborate) that if you don’t go after any offers on the wall, your information is not used/sold by this other company.
There have been too many posts that lead me to believe that just by having the offer wall available means that this other company can now have everyone’s info whether we chose to share or not. I am not cool with that.

I just played Raid: Shadow Legends for 1 day and got 2,900 dilithium.
I am all for this. But I will be very selective as to what offers I will accept.
Looks like others are being offered a lot more dil for playing that game ....
That was a different offer. The offer I took was to get to level 25 in 7 days.
Some games have multiple offers available at different rewards levels. Most say only one reward will be given for a game.
I chose the 2,900 offer. And completed it in a day.
I have played several other games and made 7.9k dilithium this week.
I haven't touched a survey as those scream scam.
It was sad to see Timelines succumb to this “offer wall”. It’s a predatory system rife with scams, and TP’s customer service will do nothing to help players who have fallen victim. They just keep saying “the offer wall belongs to a separate company”.
Tilting Point: you choose to put this in your game to defraud your customers. You can’t wash your hands of responsibility for it. You have chosen profits over valuing your customers and we hear that message.
It seems that protest fever has swept the forums as well.
Protesting is a long-standing tradition, here on the forum. We issue pitchforks on day 1, but prefer that members receive proper training before wielding torches.
Many people quit spending or left the game after such memorable DBacles as MJLP, Polywater-gate Yar, and to a lesser extent, I-can't-believe-it's-not-Kirk and fleets being usurped.
The offer wall does not mark some new stage of forum outrage. It is simply the atrocity of the day. When you are ready, please see Chief O'Brien for plasma torch training.
