I dunno. I missed MJLP and Yar, but I've also seen plenty of hackles raised here for one thing or another. This is a bit different than sending a legendary to some people but not everyone because you're trying to get them back to the game. At the very least there's legitimate legal questions for certain countries and I don't think many of the previous fiascos qualify to that extent.
Whats MJLP? I need something else to be butthurt about.
Mirror Jean Luc Picard - I don't remember what the fiasco was, so I'll let someone else go over that. I want to say it has something to do with him being given away - campaign? mega? Don't remember which - when people had gotten him the usual way. He was at that time a pretty heavy hitter in the gauntlet, but when everyone has him he's not as special.

IIRC, not only was he "Oprahed" for compensation right after the Mega when people had already spent cashy folding money to FF him, but he was also "Syndromed" in a Campaign later.......

Oh yeah.. I remember that.
I currently have 4 of them Immortal.
I'm glad I was understandable. I typed that in the middle of the night, when I had been up since 0600, and had had another kidney stone procedure.

The real question here should be would you rather have the offerwall, or would you rather have access to datacore - the site has announced it will shut down in 28 days because of wall this.
I’ve been really happy about how the Star Trek family has come together to fight for equality and everyone being safe and treated with respect. Something we all deserve as human beings.
This game and DB & TP, seems to have been in line with much of that with that with play together, as well as supporting justice and inclusion. The play together support packages during the pandemic was awesome
And now this. I have a hard time seeing how this type of wall offer will not be predatory in nature, no matter what. It’s not what Star Trek is about to me, which is more about people trying to improve as human beings. I’m not ok with other Trekkies being thrown under the wall.
To meet strangers with the benefit of the doubt and not be driven by fear, is an atmosphere I enjoy in Star Trek. I’d rather not have to fear TP scheming against us too. I feel like that belongs more in a zombie apocalypse game and similar. :P
I don’t think TP owes us anything and have the right to change the game into whatever they like or need. I’ve invested too much time and money to walk right out that door. If it doesn’t feel that much as a Star Trek game to me, or a type of game that I like, I’ll probably lose my joy for the game and leave eventually if they keep this up. I would still subscribe to the campaign and more “forever”, if everything was ok by me.
I hate even the idea behind adding this to any game, but I thought I'd got a workaround using a dummy email (set up just for this) , however the amount of other information required is worrying. I tried a three or four of the 'free' 'offers' and each one either didn't complete (broken links) or required at least the registration of a payment method. I don't use my cellphone for payment, that option is turned off so I could not get anywhere with it.
Bottom line, even using a dummy email account is not enough, there is too much other information required and I will pass.
I know that if you don't want to go there the Offer Wall is easy to ignore, but I honestly can't see how anyone could use it with any degree of safety, despite protestations from the people now in charge of running the game.
I get that the game exists to make money, and there's nothing wrong with that. I am happy to put up with any number of ads and have even followed up on a few, but the Offer Wall is blatant exploitation.
I vote for removal.
It is such a shame that the developers ears, eyes and hearts are still closed... Please take down this wall.
I was itching to spend money to obtain dilithium for the Colony Creatures pack but I simply do not trust handing over my credit card details.
The trust is gone. How sad for me and for you.
If you have been spending money in the past wouldn’t they already have your credit card details?
Or buy everything through the Play Store. Free items in other games, and only one place has your card data. They send games the payment, not your card data......

I personally find your sentiments contradictory.
"I’ve been really happy about how the Star Trek family has come together to fight for equality and everyone being safe and treated with respect."
"I’m not ok with other Trekkies being thrown under the wall. "
Don't misunderstand, I can read between the lines with what you said, I understand your sentiment, and I think it is great. But you have to my way of thinking combined two diametrically opposed ideas and mashed them together in an amalgamation that can either only exist in fiction or come across as being heavy-handed.
I understand the masses who have spoken their peace about being against the Wall for ethical reasons, I respect individual choice and if the Wall is not something individual players are comfortable with, it is perfectly reasonable to not want to use it. If the risk to an individual's personal data is too much to risk for an individual for some dilithium, I'm behind that individual 100% for not supporting it.
But I personally draw the line when those individuals feel justified in foisting their ethics on everyone, that is not "respectful" and certainly nothing akin to "equality". Once a select few well-intentioned individuals start imposing their morality/ethics on everyone it quickly shifts from nobility to tyranny.
The Wall is 100% optional, nobody is being forced to be "thrown under the wall." It is noble to look out for other people, but it is not respectful to take away their freedom to choose. We do not know the economic situations of everyone, nor do we know how individuals from different cultures value their personal data.
I personally do not participate in the Offer Wall because I am not comfortable compromising my information for dilithium, but I am not comfortable telling somebody else with freewill that they shouldn't be able to do something simply because I find it objectionable.

Ouch dude. Hope it wasn't too painful...
Getting to be routine. This was somewhere between 12 & 15 procedures since last August. Yes, so many I actually have lost count........
And AGAIN! The THINGS i would gleefully do to someone right now!
