Single faction events are bad and whoever made the decision should feel bad.
May as well put up a big sign saying Whales only, please!
I’m curious to understand why a single faction is better for whales? I see it the other way, single faction (fewer missions) is better for new players that have smaller crew rosters.

I also don't think that it's better for whales, but it seems to favor long-time players over new ones (possibly because of the amount of boosts required for a full kickstart). Either that or there is zero competition, because I'm sending out shuttles with the same strategy I used two years ago and I'm barely dropping in rank.
My guess is that a lot of people don't use the kickstart or only use the one requiring less boosts. So with one faction it will take them much longer to reach 4000 vp shuttles.
Apart from that, since it's a hybrid with a galaxy half, the competive part of the event was still the galaxy part. Whoever didn't make it into their target rank bracket during the first phase, won't make it now.
I am neither a whale nor old player (not quite two years), but it had the max 15 shuttles out for a while. I don't have that many now, but it think I have between six and nine. I still have some 4* mirror crew in the freezer yet. Ezri, Uhura, etc
* Not thinking the clearest. I just flooded the kitchen, did the splits, head butted the freezer (glancing blow), and busted most of my toenails on one foot. Die, 2020, die!

It's pretty clear that If anyone has a right to feel aggrieved it's DS9 fans! Nothing for 2 years, apart from Thrax in Captive Intent. Closely followed by TNG, but they got a good share of 'Desperate Times' and 'Forever as One'.
DS9 in February please TP!
I'd love a DS9 mega, especially as I started playing shortly after Darth Bashir. My top choices for the recurring would be:
Relaxed Dukat (Civil Defense)
Weyoun 7 or 8
Omet'iklan (or maybe Kudak'Etan)
Six degrees in Inter-species Veterinary Medicine. Treating all manner of critters, from Tribbles to Humans.
I'm all for variety. IDIC is the heart of Star Trek after all. A heavy dose of new stuff makes some sense. Players get new crew and variants as they are introduced, but there is a LOT of Trek to draw from.
Nearly every player here has a character or variant that they want(ed) in the worst way. Mine is Liz Cutler from Enterprise. A lot of my big wants are Enterprise, but I have one or two from every series in my top ten. Would they be popular with a lot of the players? A few. Would all of your favorite characters be a big deal to me. Probably not. Would I agree on a couple? Most likely. With every new character and ship, some people are excited, some content, and some complain. As long as there is balance, I will live with it. I might be the happy one next time.
Next year has a lot of promise. (Don't they all.) There are a lot of good anniversary possibilities out there.
Star Trek will be 55.
The Voyage Home- 35
The Undiscovered Country- 30
First Contact- 25 (I officially feel old. Mom took me to see this opening day. It was Thanksgiving and I was twelve. It was my first new Trek movie since I got into the show.)
Enterprise- 20
Timelines itself will be 5! I'm hoping they celebrate in style. (Maybe everyone will get a Birthday Cake Neelix from "Twisted" or Age of Ascension Worf.)
Roddenberry would be 100 and has been gone 30.
Several actors have milestone birthdays.
Some landmark episodes, like "Unification", will have birthdays.
They hinted at new features, new collections, and there are some epic crew to be added. I'm waiting to see what's next.

A full Faction without a winning faction bonus is indeed a bummer. TP please stop doing this.

There's a few people in my fleet who aren't happy about it. Especially considering there was only one faction in the hybrid this week. Once in a while is understandable. Twice in a row during a mega event where the trait has a collection associated with it, resulting in a lot of bonus crew, but likely not a lot of shuttles kind of culminated in frustration.

Except it's a Discovery mega with a mirror trait, so we haven't gotten a ton of new mirror crew.
Also, these massive amounts of bonus crew and shuttle options just inflates the VP needed to win since everyone is running extra shuttles. Personally I'm enjoying this current event where it seems like you don't need to be off extra shuttles and sending every 90 minutes to have a chance to rank.

To each their own. I'm just reporting what is bothering my fleet.
Despite not having an abundance of new crew, there have been 390 packs with existing mirror crew. Those who purchased them may feel slighted since there will be less opportunity to use them. Essentially, it makes players more hesitant to buy packs with the mega event trait in the future.
But I'm glad you're enjoying the mega event. I've enjoyed not playing the mega event. Again, to each their own.
It's just a shame my girls won't be as impactful in the next event. There's at least one more on ice. I lost track of how many I have.

Two new crew ideas came to mind for the 5th anniversary of the game: Cellular Peptide Cake Troi (MED/SCI/DIP) and Mud Bath Worf (DIP/SEC/MED). I’m sure there would be plenty of other fun ways to celebrate such a major milestone, of course.

I do not mind the single faction as such, it is the same for everyone anyway. The lack of a winning faction bonus after the event is what bothers me.

George and Gracie!
That would be a great anniversary avatar. There's some tough competition now that Grudge and Spot 2 are on the scene from newer series. WRG definitely has some great options. Maybe we can get more than one per year. They would make great milestone rewards for a collection of crew cards with animal companions: Picard & Number One, Archer & Porthos, Imprinted Archer, Lewis Zimmerman, Booker & Grudge, Amanda Rogers, all the crew with tribbles in the art, etc.
Some sort of skill or proficiency badge, like naval ratings, maybe? Maybe he saved someone important and it makes their patronage? That sounds very Terrain to me.

I had two top voyage crew sheets saved, but one is no longer available and the other has not been updated. How is Mirror Saru for voyages? His top skills seem to be the same as Cornwell and Darth Bashir, both of whom I have immortalized. Trying to see if citations are warranted.

I'm not 100% sure because the sheet you mention includes bonuses and they're not at the same point for all skills and proficiencies, so his rank will also depend on how many potential bonus points his skill-combination can get, but I think that he should end up somewhere between 25 and 30.
