I think CD Quark instead of Klingon Quark is the perfect solution here. He's the very definition of a decrepit legendary, but it still would've felt much more special.
'Just a card collecting game' was't that the TP statement ?
Been playing since the start, and saw the game plummet down since DB was bought.
Very disappointed.
Therefore I will not invest in the game anymore.
I did expect more, but then I thought about the lead up to CD. We are really still in the middle of the holidays with CD factored in. If we get a really good CD, I can overlook anything in 2020.
I imagine many are in the same situation, so lack of participation is to be expected (making the community goals ridiculous)
So, if I put the regular effort, I get the 10x pull and another voyage token...
COP Picard should have been in the threshold rewards, that would have made people try a little (everyone could get one, many that already have it would be happe to add a star)

On one hand I very much believe that there are very good days ahead in our immediate future that I would consider part of the holiday season "festivities" so I'd be tempted to vote "Generally Pleased"...
...but on the other hand, I've been sitting on a slightly elevated "entertainment" budget for several weeks just waiting for a good LTO with some packs (the portal just updated, sell us packs for real!) or dilithium deals and frustrated with what has come along thus far so I am also tempted to vote "Underwhelmed. etc etc."
Therefore, I broke the tie by voting "Satisfied", with the understanding that in the coming week or so I could slide either direction, depending on what transpires.

Now I am logging in twice a day to complete the dailies. I haven't competed in an event for three weeks.
I'm not starting one of those, 'look, I'm quitting threads' because I'm not, yet. But I spend more time on this forum these days, looking for a modicum of hope that will respark my interest. It's a very sad, slow death, imho, of a game I loved - not because they aren't giving free stuff or wishing us a Merry Christmas, but because they've stopped developing it. There is no game anymore, just a card collecting app that they could shut down at anytime and take our hard earned cards from us. Uninspired events that look like they are done using a colour by numbers {insert new weekly card} program - and they even struggle to put the correct name into the brackets anymore (Culber recently). That is not the game I started playing five years ago and in which I invested alot of time and money.
Here's a select list of positives that I've experienced in December (hey, it was also my birthday month, so my 'festive' window may be longer than yours).
- Added 2 Red Angels (duplicate is 2/5), plus a Bartender Guinan (airlocked since already FFx2).
- Max rewards from new Q collection.
- Hit my 2nd natural 11hr voyage.
- Rank-earned Sahil (1/5), Mirror Saru (1/5), EDF Adira Tal (1/5), C.O.P. Founder Picard (2/5).
- Added stars (via packs/random pulls) to Mirror Reed (2/5), Mirror Cochrane (3/5), Mirror Beverly Crusher (3/5), Mountaineer Spock (3/5), Pah-wraith Keiko (FF), North Star T'Pol (1/5), Sahil (2/5), Courier Burnham (FF), and EV Suit Archer (2/5).
- FF'd Rura Penthe Kirk and improved Captain Lorca (2/5) and Frank Hollander (3/5) via campaign.
- Added over 90K honor via 1.5 skirmish events. Honor total currently 940K. This, more than anything, has been my motivation since August. If the honor sale happens (it will) and goes well for me (fingers crossed), then I will probably not care about any of the negative issues along the way.
For that reason I'm underwhelmed by the last 3weeks taken as a whole. The CD event needed to be put up at least two weeks before to give people making holiday plans the chance to schedule it in. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm sure many who want to play are too low on chrons. It may have cut into the Mega, but thats a choice they should have had. The company may be hostile to traditional holidays, but their player base is not. Even if you don't name a holiday, if you are planning to drop a 10b community goal you should be doing something to promote activity. Making sure the most people are loging in to know. The CD event and it's (personal opinion, ridiculous) goal and demands just appeared out of no where to a player base who felt/believed TP was on autopilot to hide from the "festive" season. I don't get the impression they cared if the CD event targets could/would be reached. They just seem to have put it up because they felt they had to or something. They follow a formula, shrug and say they did their job.
For the event itself, they seem to have nerfed it on purpose. The Community rewards drop 2 Quark. If you want to put in minimum effort and walk away with a 4/4 card, all you need to do is rank high enough for what is usually 2 3* cards. Most of the time all people have to do to collect community rewards is make one recipe and wait. They may or may not climb the threshold of it has a useful/new card. With all old cards, why spend the time and resources? I personally want Human Q, but he was removed from rank and community. Why climb for a tied up crew slot? I put in a lot of time and effort to have the resources in game that I do, and I am equal parts annoyed and amused at the people who have insulted me for putting a premium on it rather than just airlock my time/chrons/components because they need me to. I'm willing to wager a huge part of the player base didn't even look at the community rewards tab, that many clicked through the message and have no idea about the different event structure. I've seen the confused comments in UC and on here.
I don't doubt they have something more planned for the next 30 days. And it may be great. But for the last 30 days I have not felt it. And the CD event feels like something they didn't put much effort into, or one they made because they think failure is motivation. If they have anything similar planned I sincerely hope they take a hard look at their communication with players to give them more time to prep. Events like CD need a better lead time. Multiple failures won't work out well.
However, I think that generally speaking the holiday season was disappointing from the perspective to hat I would have loved it if there would have been some LTO’s that were exciting enough to make me bite. But, none were. And in that way, i feel like wrg/tp missed out on sales and ultimately made a bad business decision. But, who knows? Perhaps they did not want people to buy anything before the 5 year anniversary? Hard to say.

TP: Do better!!!
So much this.
I'm not voting in the poll because I don't think any of the options can capture the doldrums that I've felt the last few weeks - but you summed up my feelings so perfectly.
Two things are going to really push my attitude strongly in one direction or the other:
1) The roll-out of this actual Community Day mini-event, which thus far seems to just be a normal event with a special title (you'd think they'd announce some of the things happening in order to stir up some player excitement - marketing approach seems to be the just say "stay tuned we have cool things planned" and then either never produce or have it be a last minute announcement -- versus other games I play that are announcing major events 2-3 months in advance to drum up player interest)
2) Ben's upcoming appearance on Timelines Talks. If it's like the few that are just vague teases and nothing concrete in terms of what's coming up, specifically ideas about things in development, significantly more solid release dates... then I just don't know what to think about the future direction of the game because they've had a year of ownership now and nothing really that significant to show from it. The game is ONLY surviving at this point because of the Star Trek IP - if it was a game with cards/characters that were created in-house it would have never gotten this far. He's the product lead/owner (?), and has got to do something to inspire faith and investment in the player base. And since he refuses to use any sort of official means of communication about it, hopefully the unofficial fan sources will produce something from him.
And as a 2nd part to that, I'm really intrigued to see his response to the Adira art change stuff. He's got to take an attitude of... he's the product lead/owner (?) and the buck stops with him. Any addressing of it that isn't a full mea culpa isn't acceptable to me. Unfortunately, I'm expecting it to be a total shrug off / "see our statement where we already addressed this" kind of response.
Also, I'm really expecting them to roll out the red carpet for the anniversary. Honor sale, slot sale, great deals, all of it, because we've had small mistake after small mistake recently - really simple stuff that shows a lack of care in my opinion. If that's because they're all hands on deck working on this Q1 new feature and a big anniversary blow out, then it can be forgiven. If not, then I'm starting to be concerned a bit.
Your second paragraph basically captures it for me.
For me, Im hopeful that its going to be more than just a 5 year anniversary “sale”. Without the new features that have been hinted at, the celebration will pass quickly and I will be back to wondering if this game is worth any more of my time.
I understand that changes and upgrades require staff time and resources to develop, but you have to spend money to make money and in my opinion, ever since the take over there has not been much of an effort made to create new and exciting content to keep players interested. Those same players have mentioned time and time again on these forums what those changes “should” be.
So yeah, I am hopeful that they have been listening and have some cool stuff to add to the game.

Without high expectations, there's nothing to be overly disappointed about.
If they fail to deliver anything interesting in the coming weeks, I will be more concerned.
I would normally push back against the usage of "entitlement" when addressing player concerns, but this is apparently going to be the exception to the rule. Just about every post I've seen with complaints about the "lack" of festivities appear to miss the point of the the holiday they are demanding more celebration for.
I know players are frustrated about a lot of things both in game and out this year, but some have really taken things to a dark, depressing place this year. I truly hope y'all get the catharsis you clearly need in some other more positive and life affirming way. 🖖
