I am shocked that so many people did not realize they were profiting from a bug.
Because it was a button that said 'buy again' not 'bugged illegal - do not press' I've been playing for five years, have a ton of he various currencies and so didn't notice nothing was being deducted until a few clicks later.
So you did not read or knew that the limit was one each day and when you saw the "buy again" button you did not thought "hmm, this is a bug". Then you are lucky the "buy again" button did not remove huge resources from you or even real money. But then again, I think you would not have hit it many times
The limit was one of the free packs. I clicked on that once. The free pack opened and we were offered a button to buy again.
The limit of one was for the free pack.
There was no advertised limit on the buy again.
The free pack and the buy again were two different entities.
I don't know how to make that any clearer.
I am sorry, but I don't understand how you can see this as two different entities.
You were still in the free pack when the button appears. When you click it, you are buying another free pack. How does a button changes his entity?
Because it said 'BUY again' not 'claim another FREE pack'. It took me five or so claims before noticing that none of the myriad currencies were reducing.
So you clicked a BUY again button without knowing what the cost was, at least five times.
I wonder what the reactions would have been if everyone who pushed it lost 2k dilithium.

While I'm not defending them by any means, I can appreciate the trouble they must have making such a distinction.
Any number you pick for the ban/no-ban line was going to be subjective. How would you argue that 19 isn't exploiting but 20 is. Okay, well, then 20 is but 21 isn't. It's a giant headache.
Honestly the fairest way to do it would have been 1 since that's what they intended for the pack, but that would have been a massive overreach of a solution.
The bigger problem is that the line doesn't seem to have been drawn consistently, as if there wasn't a specific number that prompted a ban.

I am going to keep pushing this point with you because either you don't understand or are simply trolling.
I don't know how long you've been around but have you ever piled up so much currency (in this example, credits) that you convert it to honour via the 90,000 credit pack in the portal? I do every month or so. I click the 'buy again' button until I can no longer click it because there are no longer any credits left.
So to spell it out.
Click time portal.
Click 90,000 pack.
Click 'buy again'

I have 4000 dilithium.
I could spend it on the poor odds of pulling a 5* out of a pack that also contains two 4*s I've immortalised or I can spend it on a pack that helps with a cool new feature that might allow me to target the only two cards I have left to chase in this game (Gary Seven and Mobile Doc)
Next question, please...
*Edited to add. I don't know if I've said it enough times but I pulled it around five or so times before realising nothing was being deducted.*

Great. 2k dilithium would have been worth it. Like I say, I can't really spend it on anything else.
I think they should communicate clearly where the cutoff was between "a few pulls" and "too many pulls".
But 5 pulls should have been within the acceptable range, because so far I've only heard of two people who were banned for less then 11 pulls. I understand that you're angry because of this, especially since most others in your position weren't affected by the ban, but I would try to contact CS over it and see if they can fix it, if you lost resources because of it. And probably ask to escalate the ticket to someone who knows what actually happened.

I've already told you 450 dilithium for those packs gives me 200 honour so the Polestar pack would be better value. I have every 4* card, I was at a point where I only really wanted Gary Seven and Mobile Doc from the game.
YMMV.
I'm going to leave it there, because we're going in circles. Have the last word if you like.

Dear Star Trek Timelines community
I am a level 99, VIP 14, nearly 5yr veteran. I was one of the players recently banned I agree with so many of the sentiments stated in the forum about how unfair, harsh, and knee-jerk this was. I sent an email requesting compensation for the resources I lost during the ban. The short answer from TP was NO - deal with it. Basically be happy that TP reduced my ban to 24 hours. I cannot put into words how infuriating this response was. It has been mentioned many times before how little TP cares about us as players but this incident cemented in my mind just how true that is. I refuse to give any support to such a company that demonstrates so deliberately how little they care!! I will be quitting and will miss everyone very much. Thank you for all your help and support.

Nice false equivalence there, WRG employee. The price tag clearly said free, and then a "buy again" button was presented. We went through the checkout, not our fault the cashier said here, take another one, it's also free, and another, and another. Then the store manager punishes the customer instead of the employee wrongly giving away free stuff. Then the manager wonders why the number of customers in that store suddenly drops after several incidents like that.

I usually go to the cashier before leaving a store. Remember one time where I got a $20 fruit tray for $10 because they hadn’t put a price on it. I really like that grocery store.

That is comparing apples to oranges. The real comparison is if the price tag read $1.00 instead of $100.00. The store then has to honour that price error because it was on them and not the buyer and then make the necessary changes so it reads correctly. WRP/TP should have done the same even if what was gained was taken, but instead they blamed the players for their mess up, called them cheaters and criminals, suspended accounts, stripped everyone of what they earned prior to the pack, and then refused to offer an apology or compensation to those affected, ultimately destroying the trust between consumer and company.
There are three ways to do something; the right way, the wrong way, and the Janeway.

And went on a narcissistic screaming tirade, and had the customer thrown in prison for a day. Finally, doesn't apologize for their behavior and continues to blame the customer.
I can report that CS was very cooperative and finally sorted out everything for me. My account is back to normal but still somehow I lost quite some enthusiasm for the game over the entire matter. Maybe the new reward structure can bring some of it back...

And probably ask to escalate the ticket to someone who knows what actually happened.
So you want to spend 4K dilithium for 2 random polestars that probably can give none of the crew you want. But spending 450 dilithium for a bigger chance to get the crew you want is useless?
YMMV.
I'm going to leave it there, because we're going in circles. Have the last word if you like.
Retirement posting at it’s finest lmao.

Try walking out of a store with an item that doesn’t have a price tag and see if you’re not accused of shop lifting.

Speaking of false equivalents, not everyone who disagrees with you is a WRG employee. 🙄
Oh, I would love to be one. Got some good idea's.
That's the best summary of what happened I've seen, yet.
And went on a narcissistic screaming tirade, and had the customer thrown in prison for a day. Finally, doesn't apologize for their behavior and continues to blame the customer.
