To me this sounds reasonable. I just do not understand the silence all day. They could have avoided a lot of people raging if they had announced this asap.
They probably needed to discuss it with TP first.
Agreed. If they need the time to stabilize everything, they could have made an announcement this morning and said "your accounts will all be unlocked by X time." There would've been grumbling, but people would have simmered significantly. Honestly, that whole part reads as a complete bull poo.
I still have some concerns about how this 24-hour+ ban will impact the ongoing event, today's achievements, my fleet's daily achievements, etc... However, that can wait until I can get back into the game and thoroughly assess the situation.
EDIT: Due to crew slot issues, I was planning to buy the premium campaign on Monday, after freezing event crew. However, as a result of the way I've been treated, I will not be making that purchase, as I have every month since campaigns were introduced. My wallet shall remained closed.
This is a bare-minimum response. It's a day late and a dollar short.
If stating the ban was excessive is their way of saying that they simply should have taken back the extra stuff that their accidentally added new functionality provided, then I'm ok with that. I want to hear acknowledgement that this wasn't a player problem, but a TP problem.

Agreed. They stated it was excessive, but they haven't actually apologized for treating their loyal customers like criminals. The things they're giving are nice, but it'll be impossible to forgive and certainly to forget without an actual apology.
My only fear is the damage is done. : (
** This is assuming that I get the banked ISM, polestars, and constellations I had before I pulled that first pack. If that's all returned, ok, I'll cool down over the weekend. I know I had at least a legendary polestar, several trait polestars (at least two of the three other polestars to get to sinister picard), and at least one skill polestar (can't remember which...)
Whatever Rank I finish at will be ashes in my mouth. Because hard as I played, I didn't "earn" it....
One of the people they banned apparently was firmly Rank #1 when the ban hit.

This could have all been avoided if they corrected the mistake, apologized for it, and then went about their day instead of sending the banhamer down on hundreds to thousands of players for their own error. This game will not last through the year guaranteed.

1. Shan answered to my post in Engineering like 11 or 12 hours ago already.
2. If their meeting prevented them from updating us that was the next bad decision regarding priorities. Obviously they had decided on their path to go much earlier, otherwise they would not have worked on a fix all day.
