Without knowing if the stats are worth, my excitement LV is put on hold. 😜
If you would rather discuss the new Gauntlet Crew in that other thread, I promise not to be offended.
Perhaps @Shan would grace us with their stats and traits, or let us know when to expect them. If you'd be so kind? Please and thank you!
When they are, I will add them here.
Thanks!
First thing I noticed! Are they the first TAS Klingons? Extra points for remembering the purple first time, if so.
I have long-term players in my fleet who haven't even gotten their first Balok yet, and others who don't have several of them.

I feel you, Took me 2 years to get armus
Heartily seconding this. AIUI, when Guinan took over from Locutus and be moved into the secondary rewards, you had a 50-50 chance of each of them if the RNG decided to favour you with a gauntlet gold at all. Once TK&K come in, you'll be six times more likely to get them than A N Other gauntlet gold you might still be chasing.
I can see that there are game balance issues that might need to be considered, but long-term players getting a slightly higher rate of 550-honor drops doesn't seem like it would distort things so badly that it would outweigh the goodwill it would generate among those still searching for that one elusive character.
(To give a concrete example: if the overall gold probability were doubled without changing the chances of getting the featured gold, you'd have as much chance of getting Balok or whoever else as you did of getting a Locutus or a Guinan when Caretaker arrived.)
Alternative proposal to deal with the frustration: add extra tiers to the gauntlet achievement. Every 10k rounds played, get a guaranteed star on the next retired featured crew, as already happens with Locutus. (So 30k for Guinan, 40k for Caretaker, etc ) You can grind your way there and hope to get lucky along the way.
Four years of playing and I still don't have the Caretaker.
I second this idea....
Not exactly. When Guinan took over there was no secondary pool. The only way to get locutus was the achievement. When Caretaker took over for Guinan there was no way to get Guinan. Even when Armus took over, there was no way to get Guinan or Caretaker. It was only during Armus's run that the secondary loot pool was introduced.
I understand the frustration, but what I tend to see are the players that complain about gauntlet drops are the players that get annoyed at gauntlet and therefore don't play gauntlet. The players regularly playing gauntlet every 4 hours tend to get the gauntlet crew eventually.
Also, wanting everyone to have the gauntlet crew and complaining about walls of crew are contradictory. What we need is minute variety in gauntlet crew. The way not everyone has the same obvious choices and you won't see the walls because players won't all be using the same crew.
I also agree with Avi that if you consistently play the gauntlet 3x per day at least and use a good strategy you will get crew. I'm also glad they're introducing new gauntlet crew to break up the walls of crew and give players more of an interesting decision to make.
Yeah the drop rate is just bad for some. I have a guy in my fleet hasn't had 1 drop yet. I still think we need gauntlet beholds that way you have a better chance of getting someone you need
Agree 💯
I would keep the current crew as a straight drop, but fit the secondary pool make it a behold of the old gauntlet crew rather than the straight drop.
One of the issues with fighting for the gauntlet exclusive is that the card (when you have a mature roster) is really only good for gauntlet. There is potential use in voyages if you are going for a 12 hour one, but their roll is so volatile that they make me have to watch voyages. I can do 10 hours even during events, so it simply doesn't matter to me.
This presumption is not correct. I play gauntlet regularly for years and I never ever got Locutus . I got him from achievement and cited him.
I got Guinan not so long ago and she is really old crew.
Red Angel still eludes me
I sit corrected! But you've still got only half the odds of getting the one you want when you do roll the secondary loot compared to when it was introduced. I see the point about walls but for people whose favourites happen to be gauntlet exclusives the heavy RNG involved is a pain point. (Especially since some people do have terrible luck.)
Though I do also like the idea in your other comment of secondary loot becoming a "gauntlet behold".
And yet... @HaBlack is far from the only regular gauntlet player that tells a similar tale.
We joke about what you may or may not have to sacrifice to the RNG gods, but sometimes I wonder if there isn't something to it. Start with a tribble, add some salt and quadrotriticale, dice up some fresh tube grubs, and...
This is pretty much my take. I know it's basically random and I need to just keep plugging away and I'll eventually get what I need. And yet...here are the numbers on the drops I've gotten in four+ years of playing (of course I track this; you mean, you don't? )
Armus - 9 drops
Balok - 8 drops
Red Angel - 4 drops
Locutus - 2 drops (3 counting the achievement)
Gunian - 1 drop
Caretaker - 0
You all have no idea how happy I am to have decided long ago to cit-up Red Angel, Locutus, and Gunian. No. Idea.
I would much rather have another new Honor Hall crew than a new Gauntlet Exclusive card...
Ov (Overall) | Vo (Voyage) | Fa (Faction) | Ga (Gauntlet)
Sb (Ship Battle) | Bt (Boss Battle Traits) | Co (Collection) | (Cd (Cadet)
Whichever subroutine in the game that's responsible for deciding these things clearly likes me for some reason.
Tell me that’s not a Tribble on his head.
