If you would rather discuss the new Gauntlet Crew in that other thread, I promise not to be offended.

To be fair to DSH, there wasn't a place for us to discuss the crew before he posted the thread.

Perhaps @Shan would grace us with their stats and traits, or let us know when to expect them. If you'd be so kind? Please and thank you!

I know about the desire to know the stats, I have not forgotten but they are not yet ready :)
When they are, I will add them here.

    Thanks!

I appreciate that their armor has the purple tint to it. That's a nice touch.

I'm debating what skills they'll be. SEC/CMD/SCI would be good combination that's not well represented in gauntlet.

First thing I noticed! Are they the first TAS Klingons? Extra points for remembering the purple first time, if so.

Is this the appropriate place to ask that the drop rate for Gauntlet-exclusive crew be tweaked so they're more likely to drop?

I have long-term players in my fleet who haven't even gotten their first Balok yet, and others who don't have several of them.

I feel you, Took me 2 years to get armus

Four years of playing and I still don't have the Caretaker. :s

Yeah the drop rate is just bad for some. I have a guy in my fleet hasn't had 1 drop yet. I still think we need gauntlet beholds that way you have a better chance of getting someone you need

I think they should start doing one of the targeted crew style behold packs when gauntlet crew drops - one choice is the current crew and the other two are random previous gauntlet crew.

I also agree with Avi that if you consistently play the gauntlet 3x per day at least and use a good strategy you will get crew. I'm also glad they're introducing new gauntlet crew to break up the walls of crew and give players more of an interesting decision to make.

    Agree 💯

I would probably play more if I thought I might get the 5* more often. As of right now, I have at least one of each. I simply don't bother with gauntlet anymore. Not enough ROI for me. I don't mind it; I just decided to use my time elsewise. I understand the frustration. I'll probably start playing again at a reduced pace until I get the new crew in six months or so.

One of the issues with fighting for the gauntlet exclusive is that the card (when you have a mature roster) is really only good for gauntlet. There is potential use in voyages if you are going for a 12 hour one, but their roll is so volatile that they make me have to watch voyages. I can do 10 hours even during events, so it simply doesn't matter to me.

i have awful luck on gauntlet crew.. I have 2 guinan and 1 armus and thats it.
Sir, I protest! I am NOT a merry man!

Not exactly. When Guinan took over there was no secondary pool. The only way to get locutus was the achievement. When Caretaker took over for Guinan there was no way to get Guinan. Even when Armus took over, there was no way to get Guinan or Caretaker. It was only during Armus's run that the secondary loot pool was introduced.

I sit corrected! But you've still got only half the odds of getting the one you want when you do roll the secondary loot compared to when it was introduced. I see the point about walls but for people whose favourites happen to be gauntlet exclusives the heavy RNG involved is a pain point. (Especially since some people do have terrible luck.)

Though I do also like the idea in your other comment of secondary loot becoming a "gauntlet behold".

On the one hand, I generally agree with @AviTrek about acquiring the g-exclusive crew. I recently got my 14th copies of both Caretaker and Balok, and I've gotten over 20 copies of Armus, so to me the drop rate issue is just a matter of brute force. (Play enough rounds and they will come.)

And yet... @HaBlack is far from the only regular gauntlet player that tells a similar tale.

I'm not a heavy Gauntlet player, but I play four or so times a day, every day. I'm constantly looking for better Gauntleteers. I just finished equipping Away Team #1 and Tempted Data. I have Bem, Daystrom, Minuet, and Captain Scott that I'd like to get equipped this weekend to build that roster depth. I still get one a year and two of the three I know were in January around my anniversary. If anyone receives divine revelation from the RNG gods...speak up!

This is pretty much my take. I know it's basically random and I need to just keep plugging away and I'll eventually get what I need. And yet...here are the numbers on the drops I've gotten in four+ years of playing (of course I track this; you mean, you don't? :D )

    Armus - 9 drops
    Balok - 8 drops
    Red Angel - 4 drops
Locutus - 2 drops (3 counting the achievement)
    Gunian - 1 drop
    Caretaker - 0

You all have no idea how happy I am to have decided long ago to cit-up Red Angel, Locutus, and Gunian. No. Idea.

For someone who is in the game as a crew collector, Gauntlet crew are the absolute worst. You are 100% beholden on the luck of the draw. Those and Six Packs are my two least favorite things in the game.

I would much rather have another new Honor Hall crew than a new Gauntlet Exclusive card...

Gauntlet is entirely based on luck of the draw. I don't play all that often any more (still haven't hit 20K rounds after 4+ years) but I still have way more gauntlet crew than some of the regular players in my fleet who've been going longer than me.

Whichever subroutine in the game that's responsible for deciding these things clearly likes me for some reason.

Well it was fun doing YOLO gauntlets for merits. Back to the salt mines. I've so far managed to collect every Gauntlet crew at 5/5 but I try to play 30-40 rounds per day at least. It helps mitigate the odds.
