Upcoming Extended Events

Shan, it looks like the final two events in the mega event will be extended until Tuesday because of holidays on Monday. With hybrid events featuring galaxy events as the second half, please remind the team of the feedback from the previous extended event. Hopefully being a couple weeks out still schedules can be adjusted to minimize extra long galaxy events.
Thanks.
Thanks.

There is absolutely no point in extra-long Galaxy events. The same players will be in the top 100 after 5 days as they would after 4. All it does is force everyone to grind for longer which nobody wants to have to do over the holidays.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.

I play to relax, I already have a job 5 days a week, I don't need another...
5 day events are entirely for ease of life for DB staff, nothing to do with the least important individuals involved with the game; the players.
I'd love to see 3 day event in place of 5 day event, but DB don't give a <beep> so we're stuck at 5.

Or, maybe they can just leave it running 'til Tuesday for those of us affected by the Holiday.
I love how rude and inconsiderate some people can be of others, just because they are not affected by the loss of two consecutive Mondays of access time.

Except, there IS a "point" in it for quite a few of us.
Maybe I should start a campaign asking them to stop those pesky Faction Events I hate......
Don't wanna do it Tuesday? There is a dead simple solution, that does NOT impact the people who need it to run to Tuesday.
Scott
First of all, I never said don't extend, just to consider the feedback. If DB wants to run phase 1 through Sunday and then run a normal 2 day Galaxy hybrid portion, I'd be fine with that.
My apologies. I may have slightly got bent out of shape. {Or turned into a pretzel.}
It's kind of a sore topic with me, just because {as I said} I know both Mondays I will be offline and it is out of my control. That is why it is nice to get at least a little time to TRY those Tuesdays.

Just so I can understand your issue, what value do you get out of the extra day? Do you expect to not play Thur-Mon and then only play on Tuesday? Do you expect to play Thur-Sun, take Monday off, and then play again on Tuesday? Are you looking to clear the threshold rewards or achieve a certain rank?
Thanks
Well, IF the Library is open Thursday and Friday, I will playing those two days. Saturday the week of Christmas is likely to be closed. Monday is definite. So, without Tuesday, I might not be able to do ANYTHING after Friday. See how the Holidays might affect others?

Everyone have a nice day.

How can we have a nice day when we know you’re so upset? Stupid library

It could be even worse and the second event will be a Faction/Galaxy hybrid.
I don't think Expedition will ever happen again. Everybody asking for them, but once it comes everybody will probably regret it. I did only one of those events (Klingon mega event) and it is awfully tedious. If they do it like last time with non-expiring tickets everybody will probably shoot themselves before trying to get the maximum out of every ticket. I was only 2 month into the game at that time and so had only a very limited amount of crew available, and even fewer leveled crew. But even that was a lot of work. If I think about having now about 120 fully leveled crew and try to exhaust them all with non-expiring tickets, this gives me nightmares. With expiring tickets it would be probably bearable, but this will also be x hours of clicking and clacking (depending on how many tickets per day).
What I'm trying to say...be careful what you wish for.
I will if you are, but I think there's approximately 0% chance of that.
It is a HOLIDAY let us relax and enjoy it.
You are making a game feel more and more like work, and I for one, am getting tired of it.
My reaction if this comes to pass...

I'm disappointed that you didn't use Mirror Garak.
The only problem is you won't catch up at all, because the hard core people will just keep going and the rest who want to keep up will just keep going to keep up and you will still just fall farther behind.
just saying.
That isn't true. In the last event I was driving the day it started. I began playing well into the second day. I was in the low 200's by sunday night / monday when I decided i couldn't push to top 50 without spending a bunch of money. I more or less quit supply missions at that point and finished 440. It makes no difference when you do the supply missions as long as you do them. People who don't want to play all the days can easily just play the days that they would like and quit complaining about things that aren't going to change. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean you speak for everyone, or even most people, playing the game.
I didn't spend anymore chronotons than I normally have to spend to finish exactly where I wanted to finish. The extra day made very little difference in the amount of chronotrons necessary to place in the top 1000. And if you can't make it to 50th place the rewards for 51-1000 are virtually the same.
This is exactly what I was thinking. They've done it before, too, though it's been a long time since they did. I do enjoy events, but after a while they can feel tedious.
