For future reference: most people get their announcements either directly in game or via discord announcements channels.
To piggyback off this, the in-game announcements are crucial and it bothers me that it's been a month since the last ones - minus downtime compensation and Arena rewards, I haven't gotten one since before the last mega event began. Having them on Discord or in the forums as well is fine, but you cannot and should not require players to use a separate app or external channels for basic information. It needs to be internal to the game. I didn't realize we had an honor sale going on until someone in my fleet mentioned it in chat.
So, I guess I was not wrong, I got called out by the STT here and in private, but that's ok. Glad they are focusing on the important issues.
Its disappointing that nancy has chosen this tact.
I dont think its fair to fully blame them for the situation. Nancy was probably already spread thin managing the communities of the other games tp runs, then was tasked with taking on the responsibility of managing a new one. Surely they did not ask for this.
I think that this is a symptom of being over worked, underpaid, and under appreciated. And thats what i fear most about the staff cuts that have been made. Interactions from nancy as of late have seemed short and maybe a little irritated. I would suspect that everyone who worked for tp before wrg was shut down, and suddenly has had tons of new responsibilities put on their shoulders feels a certain way about it.
And ill go doom and gloom here. Because when employees get put into these situations it results in burnout, leading to other bad things that all end badly for the company if not resolved. And i dont have faith that it will be resolved.

Very happy to have an honor sale. Would LOVE for in game messaging to start working as intended again (including the pre-event bonuses that used to come every week), but am happy that the game continues to function despite upheaval.

If this is the level of communication TP is willing to put out, I will seriously need to reconsider the amount of time and effort I put into Timelines (money is now out of the question).

People in my fleet were completely unaware of the sale, and have been relying on the broken in game messaging to find out about it. The lack of an in game announcement dosnt help.
In my estimation, i would presume that honor sales drive quite a bit of income for the game. The citations and honor offers are usually tempting for people who spend. The fact that there has been essentially ZERO promotion of this sale, is troubling. And i think that when a company is not putting effort into trying to generate and sustain revenue through something as simple as announcing that some recycled offers from last quarter are now available, its painfully obvious what lies on the horizon.
Im sure i will get bashed by people for that take. You can all rejoice though, this is my last post on the forums (ill play the game till its gone.)

I certainly do not blame Nancy, who I suspect is very much trying to squeeze the extra tasks which management just through on her desk while at the same time trying to accomplish the other 10 hours of preexisting duties that she was already trying to get done in her workday.
I do blame the part of "them" who is insulting our intelligence in trying to portray Nancy as being fully dedicated to managing the Timelines community, using phrasings which try to suggest that this is some upgrade over Shan (i.e. by suggesting that Shan was doing multiple other tasks, but Nancy is committed to ONLY the community....)
The reality is painfully obvious and we all can see what it is... I dont blame anyone for that reality either. The tech industry is in turmoil, and that is just a market reality. I do however blame "them" (which I am sure is someone at the management level, and not someone in these forums) for openly trying to deceive us about the reality.

That's fair. I can understand that. I've always been happy for other players who've gotten something positive out of something, even if I didn't care for it. It's nice to know my frustration is offset by your enthusiasm. A key part of my dilemma is that I have to compensate for not having, say, an entire squadron of players with their own rosters contributing to clearing nodes. If I didn't have that pressure, I could see it being nifty to be able to add to the pool. And maybe you have that same pressure but handle it better than I do. Also totally fair.
It was frustrating that the portal update was so small that my honor sale pulls were not fun new crew.
I got 17 new crew this set. Now down to only 61 needed in the portal.
I pulled a few new ones, as well. The problem is {IIRC} that previously there was an Elusive Treasures and then the Portal Update was done. Which included the Crew in the Elusive Treasures. Again, IIRC. This time, they were done together and the Portal Update only included older, less desirable {to many people} Crew.
They can change whatever they want. Not disputing that. But, this change probably "cooled" some players from spending what they would have if they had followed the old pattern.
