How many people have been levelling Picards? Vent your frustrations here.

Event Name: Heavy Lies the Crown
Bonus crew:
• high bonus: event crew
• small bonus: variants of Reed, variants of Dax, variants of Sato, Zhian'tara Odo and all Mirror crew. Picard variants will NOT provide a bonus
I have been needlessly updating my Picards because DB can't organise the provision of information in a timely fashion and in accordance with promises. Maybe another 'Do Better' campaign?

Sympathize with you but they promised featured crew updates on Tuesdays.... and delivered.
at least you are "more ready" for the next time Picard is featured...
I also started leveling Mirror Ezri. Mostly because she's 3/4 but I did start her before 3/4 Shran because of the event.
Picard could have gone either way. My plan was to level Picards when I was done with Mirrors. I'm still not done with Mirrors.
Regardless, as has been pointed out, you knew that the bonus crew would be announced on Tuesday (it was actually late Monday) so any action you took before then was a gamble. In this case, you lost.
They announced it early. Since the change to the way they announce Events, it has always been Friday the Event gets announced, Tuesday the Bonus Crew gets announced. Anyone who jumped the gun does not really a beef with DB......

Shan even did it early this time, and still people complain.....\
From Monday evening:

It's just way too many bonus crew. I know it's a galaxy event, and if you have the event crew high enough, then the bonus crew generally don't matter (example: during the Honey Bare Jadzia event, once I got her up to 100 at 1/5, she easily passed all other Jadzias I had, even those with better stats/traits). I think this is setting the stage for the faction events, where having 30+ event/bonus crew just becomes stupid. Heck, this past faction event I was sending out my 4 shuttles with only 1-3 total non-event/bonus crew, and that was with 3 Janeways, 4 Sevens, and both Chapels (all 4*/5*). I can only imagine shuttles with my 10 (soon to be 11) Picards and most of the Mirror crew, along with whatever event crew and their variants I have.
It would have been nice to get more advance notice - I've said before and I'll say again that DB's unwillingness or inability to put out an event calendar is annoying - but I'm not overly frustrated by today's news. We didn't have precedent for a Mega Event 5* with other variants, and given the number of available Mirror crew it was always a possibility that the variants of that crew wouldn't count.
Also, it's traditionally been just crew sold in the packs who get bonuses, and we know historically that the event 4/5* is only sold in the wrap-up pack.
I've been doing mirror crew, and had I run out, I might have moved on to Picards, but only if I hadn't found other FF crew to pump and dump.

Nope. As is evident by the other responses to OP here.
That's even more than a gamble than usual! Galaxy events give bonuses around the traits of the event crew, and the traits of Mirror Picard are entirely unknown and unlikely to be shared with other Picard. Even if variants of Picard gave bonuses (which isn't the case), I'd be extremely surprised if any version of Picard (other than Mirror Picard) did anything useful in this event unless your crew is terrible overall.
We shall know Thursday, but I can't shake the feeling that investing on Picard was a gamble against all odds.
However, there were too many faction item road blocks for me to do much. I just lost out on the opportunity to level my 1/5 Mirror Spock. Though if I had been leveling him I would have run Terran Empire shuttles and not federations.
I did level Mirror Sato actual event crew.
This is my Crusoe account. My main only had Picard’s that needed leveling specifically Tommy Gun and Galen. Most mirror are pretty much cryoed because of their lousy stats. But when I saw the notice had the time I needed to get the crew I wanted out of storage.
That is unusual and I'm curious about it..
It wouldn't be as strange to me if none of the variants counted and it was only mirror characters.. but for one to be excluded is odd.
Not complaining..
Confusing as to why..
But not complaining.

What's unusual is a mega event recurring 5* having more than one variant. That's never happened before. So that leaves us to wonder whether the recurring 5* is like a normal event crew with respect to variants or not. Now we know.
I think that in a post a long time ago Nod had said that the mega-event character (Borg Queen, Kortar, T'Kuvma) does not count as Event crew.
So Mirror Picard is a special crew that gives you a bonus at the level of the Event crew, but not other rule must apply.
The first important rule, if I'm told correctly, is that the mega-event character does not drop from Event packs, which only guarantee Event crew (someone corrects me if they have had the crew drop from packs).
The second rule, we discover today, is that his variants don' carry a bonus.
Exactly. My Mirror crew leveling was really more for next week's Faction event. Which, unfortunately, isn't too valuable, since mirror crew generally have poor base stats (poor stats over-all).
Get your Datas and Wesleys ready too. I bet they're both make an appearance.
It would have been nice if DB had brought another unique to the table in the same way they did in previous megas, eliminating the possibility of players making the OP's mistake, but they're not known for considering us lot

Im happy its a Picard... my first 5* picard, and in the future after this event.. he will be useful as a featured crew, where Borg Queen, T'kuvma, and Kortar are unlikely... unless an "all borg" or "all Klingons" event
I unvaulted my Picards because I wanted to get the titular guys and gals out first before trying to embark upon the task of unvaulting all the mirror crew. That was a bad bet. Hopefully I can get the rest of the mirror folks out tomorrow and Thursday so I can begin unvaulting whoever next week's featured crew will be on Friday.
