Are there changes considered for the Events schedule like shorter events, more reruns, and
more Mega-Event reruns?
We actually discuss this topic frequently. Right now, Star Trek Timelines is the only place where you can get a new Star Trek story almost every week. So just like a television series, there are reruns that come up, but people usually tune in for new episodes more than reruns. We love being a place where fans know they can count on new Star Trek stories being readily available to them, so we aren’t giving that up anytime soon. However, we are looking at what “shorter” events might mean for our players and the future of the game.
Who knew that the stories no one actually reads are what keeps all the fans around? /s
Well, I can’t comment nicely on an organization that doesn’t listen to what their customers want.
Potential new player here. Collecting some info about the game for the moment. How much of a pain is this crew slots limitation policy for new player?
It depends on if you're willing to spend. I've been mostly a monthly card holder ($4USD/month for 30 days of 100 DIL apiece) and have gotten up to 230 slots. A good chunk is from being VIP 13, but I also spent a lot of DIL on the last two crew slot sales (they were 50% off).
I have familiarized myself quite well with spending options and there is only one which I consider fair. It's monthly card. I think I could give it a try for a month or two as a gesture of faith but I don't like this idea of day by day logging necessity to collect it. On the other side I completely exclude portal pulls as spending option. Have read too many too valid negative comments on that matter.
I just hate the fact with well over a 50% ratio now, i am still getting new 1/4 crew drops from voyages, Today has been the first day since I can recall that I could add a star to a crewman even if it was only to bring them up to a tantalising 3/4 fusion.

For someone who is new to the game, the premium packs have a little more value than they do for veterans who have fully fused most of the crew available in the prize pool because you wouldn’t run nearly the same risk of getting an unnecessary extra copy of a character. Of course, the premium pack pool has been so diluted over the last two years you’ll probably have a much harder time fully fusing crew than we did back then.
When I buy packs, which is somewhat rare, I only buy event packs. You have a better chance of pulling someone you need and can fully fuse while still having the possibility of getting someone from the regular pool of characters. Some people swear by the Merit Rewards packs - if you farm merits from places like the gauntlet and rarely spend them in Faction stores or on unvaulting crew, Merit Rewards packs can be a good outlet for excess merits.

In my case it's an ideological NO to portal pulls. If there is even the slightest chance my money will be wasted I ignore it.

I can understand that. You may find that stridently adhering to that principle slows your growth in the game...but there are many ways STT can be played and whatever works best for you is really nobody else’s business.

Get about 6 months worth of monthly’s. Then pick up a couple 10for 10’s when they come available. No need to spend more than that.

STT is a login every day kind of game.
I don't buy regular Premium 10 pulls but event packs and sometimes special packs are ok. The odds are usually pretty decent. Most of the negative comments are from people who have so much stuff that its not worth it. Which is a problem by itself. DB is cutting itself from people who've already spent a lot.
When I was new I simply stunted my growth (didnt open any packs if I was close to full) cause of the slots until I broke down and got my first monthly card, but that was before honor and all you got was creds and trainers for dismissals.
Its what you make of it. You do get more free slots now than you did back then.

There are plenty of ways of getting a lot out of the game without spending a lot of money. Money can potentially get you further, faster — but you can also grow too fast and spread yourself too thin. The people who don't spend much, or at all, often do very well... it comes down to different ways of playing. If you see STT as a collector game where you've gotta get all the cards, well then you need to spend money to make that happen. If you just want to collect the crew members who you like and/or who will be most helpful to you, then you can still deal with a smaller # of crew slots just by being more judicious about your roster — that is, you don't have to keep the majority of crew who you acquire.
I have 3 accounts in the game. One is VIP 14 (which means I've spent more money than I care to think about at the moment, lol), one is an account where I've bought the monthly card and not much else, and one is VIP 0, meaning I haven't spent a dime.
On the 3rd one, I have 75 slots, and 52 active crew members. I can do all the weekly and weekend cadet challenges at the highest difficulty level. I can do well enough in other parts of the game to continue to strengthen my crew. I'm not kicking butt with that account, but that's mostly because it's much newer than my main account. Like I said, a lot of free-to-play players do very well in the game. It's more of a challenge, that's all. They choose not to throw money at it, and instead have to throw strategy at it.
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"

How old is your VIP 0 account?
According to my records, I started it on December 17th of last year. Now, 5 months may seem like a fairly long time as far as mobile games go, but keep in mind that I also don't devote a whole lot of time to it, having two other accounts to play... however, I do make an effort to at least hit all the daily reward targets every day.

They should at least on mega-events and when they give a free crew give them with a free slot to make it a complete gift/asset and not a liability.
Like Warframe, you know that little indie game Free to Play that almost nobody knows. When there is an event or they send a gift to the players it comes fully upgraded and with a proper slot for the item.
So I think I solved the problem. Just stop playing events! Seems to be working great, well except for the free Archer. For real though this broke the game for me. I plan on sticking around long enough to try out a skirmish and then✌️🖖. If you’re interested in buying my account let me know. 47 or so FE 5*s and about 200 immortalized crew. Not interested in these insane crew slot prices that you never have enough of. That’s just straight up not fun to me. The players will need a new crew slot advocate. I was not successful 🤦🏻♂️

When voyages first started i think they gave 5 extra slots at the time so it would be in keeping if they do that with the start of the skirmish event.
No, they will be introducing starship hangar slots. You will start with five. Additional hangar slots will be purchasable at 4000 dilithium for one extra slot. Any extra ships you have without a slot will have to be mothballed (if they are max level) or dismantled (if they are not maxed). Mothballed ships can be reinstated into service at the price of 500 merits - but you must have an open hangar slot available for them. If you wish to avoid having to dismantle a ship that is not maxed, keep in mind that you can find extra schematics in crew packs, purchasable for dilithium. Ship schematic packs focus on schematics exclusively, providing a better value for your dilithium. If you have no choice but to choose to dismantle your ships in overflow, you will be rewarded with (up to) five free schematics per ship level of the dismantled ship.
Now, now. Let's channel all that angst into some '80s rock!
Gonna have Prospero Data on guitar for this one. Just needs a tophat and sunglasses to make a good Slash!
Data, need an intro riff please...

Can we please get some free crew slots with this new mega event?! I’m hoping more than 5. 5 slots get filled before the event is even over. A half off sale would be nice too! Please don’t make me beg, it is really ugly when I start begging 😢😅😂.
This is a pay to win game. Either buy new crew slots, work harder to immortalize and free more crew, or air-lock your least favorite crew. Those are your options.
