Initial Reactions to DS9/Augment Mega-Event Announcement

Things I dig about the announced information:
Bell Riots Bashir as the recurring Legendary
An unexpected variant, but a fantastic selection. That was a great story (analyzed in depth by The Atlantic earlier this year in a piece well worth reading), particularly for Bashir, who was our point of view character in a lot of ways. Plus, unlike "Smoke & Mirrors", where our Picards didn't get to be bonus crew, all Bashirs except the Changeling are Augments, so they qualify for bonuses by default anyway.
Event formats
Could the Skirmish and triple hybrid both go horribly wrong? Sure. But I applaud the ambition behind introducing them both in this mega. I also appreciate week 2 being a Faction event and week 3 being a Galaxy event. That gives us two full weeks to stockpile chronitons for week 3 and to work on the reward crews from weeks 1 and 2. And with the Galaxy phase of the triple hybrid coming at the end, we should have ample time to work on the threshold reward in phases 1 & 2. So it's simultaneously ambitious and accommodating, and breaks up the Faction/Galaxy/Faction-Galaxy Hybrid monotony of the last few megas.
Enemy Lines Sisko
Could be from "The Siege of AR-558", could be from "Rocks and Shoals" (Angry Pointing Sisko). We have since seen the artwork and it is indeed Angry Pointing Sisko, and he looks great! Plus, this means all my Siskos will get some use at some point. And if he's in the final event, even my Promoted Sisko will see some action in the Normal level missions of the Expedition phase!
Roga Danar
Reminds me of the TNG Premiere Edition of Decipher's CCG. For that nostalgia factor alone, I'm glad to see him.
Limited bonus crew
I get the disappointment--I personally wanted, though did not expect, every single DS9 character to get a bonus all month long, because that would have been bonkers. I see the potential, depending on who the Featured Crews are, for this to still give us plenty to work with on a weekly basis. Plus, it allows more flexibility for freezing from week to week, which can be helpful for managing crew slots.
I'm pretty excited about this!

I DID just spend the last month leveling Jazz Musician Odo, Trader Odo, Cardassian Kira, and Prisoner O'Brien, so I'm disappointed all DS9 main cast aren't bonus crew throughout the mega event. At least I worked on Alternate Future Bashir first!
I'm not sure how I feel about the new event types. I don't expect to do well at Skirmishes at all (I tend to just ignore the Arena. Let the ship battle go on it's own in the background while I do something else). The triple hybrid could be interesting.
A little worried about the triple hybrid and having the new event type make their debut during the mega given DB’s track record, but fingers crossed and hope everything works well.
Been wanting to see Roga Danar in the game for quite a while so that’s nice.
Fine with not having a gazillion bonus crew that goes through all four weeks. Hopefully between augments and weekly crew there will be plenty.
As far as the triple hybrid goes, color me intrigued.
Well he does kind of look the part. Just needs lightning shooting out of his fingers 😉
I didn't word that part quite right, because I actually do favor the limited event crew. I was just trying to acknowledge that I get why others are disappointed.
Ack! Good catch. Edited my OP to reflect the correct episode.
I'm curious to see how the triple hybrid is formatted, but I may take it easy and aim for just threshold or recurring 5* each weekend.
Using 4x shuttles and 10x 3* timers 3x 4* timers & 1x 5* it takes 3hrs 30 -> 3hr 45min

To get to 4k shuttles if all 40 missions are successful. (Edited to 40 from 30 my mistake)
Thank you for the recommendation. Really excellent article about a fantastic pair of episodes.
It seems pretty clear to me that it's an inclusion list.
Really liking the artwork, well done DB for getting back to a great standard, really hope Sisko is the 4*

Sisko looks amazing. Fantastic episode, incredibly enjoyable moment as a viewer. Really happy to see him added to the game.
That Sisko art is fantastic! Now I really wish I had done a better job saving up dilithium this past month. Curse my poor impulse control!
Damn, that’s some good Sisko - the expressiveness is fantastic. Roga’s great, too, but Ben takes the cake. You don’t want to be who he’s pointing at.
It takes 40 shuttles for 4k, not 30. Also, we don't know how many factions/missions there will be for the faction portion.
The majority of the players aren't like us. They aren't going to have
1. 4 shuttles
2. An abundance of time boosts
3. Event crew (few will have many, if any, augments with limited crew space)
That means more time and more failures.
The Skirmish, reserving judgment until we play it.
From my perspective, it would be really cool if dil purchases were limited to crew packs and other things in the game, not directly for extra rewards within events themselves.
Sisko looks good, even his uniform

This works for the new 6x missions if there are 3x Factions.
If there are only 1 or 2 Factions there are 12 missions rather than 18, yet it is still possible to get to 3500vp missions in a reasonable time frame with 3 or 4 shuttles.
Interesting, because that's a definite change in verbiage from the original post.
