I am hoping it is something in the Wild West. That is the only Collection that I need to finish up.
Better yet, Brute Squad for the third time.

Batman is cool because he's human. Most of the others are too unscientific for my tastes. Batman relies on tech, therefore he's believable, in a sense. The only super-heroes I really like are the Misfits, and they are just a massive mickey take.

Well...dont laugh...but the only super hero movie i watched all this year was wonder woman

I don’t watch any of them but you can’t beat the Christopher Reeve Superman movies

Well then i gotta watch it...maybe...it isnt to violent is it?

The Superman movies from the 80s? No not at all. Superman I and II are great and timeless movies

Okay, well il look into it...thank you

Be careful with Superman III: Richard Pryor's Slapstick Revue with Special Guest Superman

Yes that is why I didn’t recommend it. But it is kinda funny that he calls him Supe. And Christopher Reeve did a phenomenal job as evil twin Superman

I haven't seen that. We're kind of wary of the way Hollywood and major film producers portray star females at the moment. They kind of haven't really got it down right yet, and there's always something irritating about them. It still feels like high-level porn, now with annoying political undertones to make it 'not porn'. And bad-**tsk tsk** sass and 'attitude'. Makes the teeth grind a bit. Focus on the story and character, not the sass and tits please.

Well i thought it was good...couldve been better and as i recall the actor that played Cap. Kirk in the JJ reboots played in it so that was interesting.

Well, I'll put it on my list of potential things to watch if I run out of the things I enjoy. Though my partner has already given it a hard pass so getting time to watch stuff on my own is... problematic. It may actually happen though, as sy-fy and Netflix are both prone to canning really good science fiction after a few seasons.

Oh...i dont have either but one would think a channel named 'Sy-Fi' would do better at keeping good SciFi on their channel!

I fail to comprehend the reason for this post...i mean we all know the gif below is db...
    so62n96vk2j3.gif
They tend to just...do stuff without a plan!

The Joker was pretty good at planning. Planning chaos and mayhem, yes, but he was meticulous in setting it in motion.

I don't know. I think DB has communication issues if anything.

Personally i dont know batman very well...but the gif worked for the idea i was trying to convey

I'm not a big super-hero fan myself, but Heath Ledger's performance in that movie is legendary. I am also thoroughly enjoying Gotham right now, much to my surprise. Solid performances all round, though I'm mildly annoyed that the plethora of females in the show are given equal status as villains but are pretty meh as heros. They could have done more on that front.

How would you quantify what made it legendary. (other than the posthumous release)

An exceptional performance and understanding of a complex cartoon character normally portrayed as merely a psychopath, rather than a twisted but perfectly understandable man who is extremely intelligent and a genuinely dangerous villain because of it. The Joker is creepy yet intimately human rather than an overpowered psychopath, and therefore you can empathize with him despite his weirdness, rather than being overwhelmed and needing to be saved by an equally overpowered human whom you also can't really empathize with.

Heath Ledger's performance made this film what it was, rather than just being another rehash of overpowered and dull bad guy versus hero. He also lived the role to the point where his mental health was impacted by it and probably contributed towards his demise.

I agree it was unique. I just found that his portrayal felt more like a generic thug.. which is definitely different from generic over the top bad guy. I mean he felt more like a pimp I knew in the Bronx when I was a missionary than anyone more dangerous than any other guy with some thugs and some guns... I guess too 'real' to be creepy to me. I do agree that he did give the better delivery, comparatively speaking to the rest of the cast though.

Omitting Expeditions, as those are officially out of the rotation, here are the next few events in the original play sequence:

"Unlikely Heroes" (Faction, last played 26 August 2016)
-This was the substitution event DB scrambled to create when "The Prime Directive" crashed upon launch. It's been passed over a few times already, leading me to guess they aren't terribly enthusiastic about it. Besides, we did recently replay "The Prime Directive", with the same Featured Crew. Unlikely.

"Dictators, Unite!" (Faction, last played 4 November 2016)
-This was DB's cynical way of acknowledging the 2016 U.S. election. Seems outright tasteless to laugh about that now, which may be why it's been passed over already. Or maybe they don't feel any shame at all, and are just holding onto it for 5 November 2020.

"Family Tree" (Galaxy, last played 1 December 2016)
-The only reason not to do this is if they favor a Faction event.

"A Brute Squad" (Faction, last replayed 8 December 2016)
-The nice thing for players is that this could give us something new to work with on our Ancient West collections. Downside: it would be a threepeat, and it's been passed over already.

"The Isthmian Games" (Faction, last played 2 February 2017)
-If "Unlikely Heroes" and "Dictators, Unite!" are off the table and they decide to go with a second run rather than a threepeat, this would be the next Faction event in line. The neat thing is that if they go with this, it will mean that the entire DS9/Augment mega will have been bookended with events featuring Jake Sisko (4* Bestselling Author Jake Sisko was pack-only the first time). I really dig that.

I'd say it's 50/50 between "Family Tree" and "The Isthmian Games". I'm hoping for the latter, in large part simply because I adore the idea of the schedule going "Jake/DS9 mega/Jake", but also because my Jake needs three more stars.

Congrats on Jake bookending the mega. Any guess how they will handle the 4* this time around?
