i'd love zo see female Q. But my favorite for Gauntlet is this guy.

Of the ones on this thread so far, I would be for T'Pau or Merged V'ger.
T'Pau -- "all of Vulcan in one package" -- who was "absolutely ruthless in her application of logic," was the only individual to have turned down a seat on the Federation Council (at least at the time of TOS). She's iconic.
Merged V'ger. So much in one package, and so cool visually.
I’d like kirshara archer, but T’Pau seems the obvious choice to me.
I believe it has been explicitly stated in the past that they have not been able to get the rights to use T'Pau, so I would not expect her any time soon, if ever, unless Discovery brings a new actor in Harry Mudd-style.
ENT already cast a younger T'Pau. It would be Syrranite T'Pau instead of High Priestess, but they could just call her T'Pau and use the younger actress from ENT.
Or DB could continue with the Caretaker theme and bring in the other nacene entity that stayed behind with the Caretaker, Suspiria. She eventually left and taught her Ocampa group how to harness their psychic powers. She was also more cruel and so DB could replace medical with security. Sec/Sci/Eng
I was thinking today that either Commodores Stone or Mendes would also be good choices.
But given the timing of new Discovery coming, I wouldn't be surprised if we Mount Pike as a new Gauntlet Character in January.
My 8-Point STT Strategy:
1. Voyage.
2. Have fun. If something isn't fun, don't do it.
3. Only pursue characters I care about.
4. Contribute to the fleet.
5. No more spending beyond monthly cards.
6. Have fun.
7. Voyage.
8. Have fun!
I actually though Prophet Sarah Sisko would have made for a good one, but we already have her.
As did I. I expected her to be gauntlet or honour hall.

So she's built like the Caretaker with her proficiencies (i.e. excellent), and like Captain Beverly with her near equal primary and secondary bases which are kinda low for a 5*. So good voyage and gauntlet material, but not so great on a shuttle.

About Decker: if we delve deep enough in actor's private life and care about it, there wouldn't be that many characters in this game (Shatner is a genuine, legit assh*le, Nichelle Nichols is rumored to be a meth addict and so on) so it's best to let their private life stay private.

Oh I agree, I’m of this mindset too. Liking the character does not have to equal liking the actor.
Much like how a fashion model is just a living body on which to overlay and display clothes in rerum natura, an actor is just a living body/mind on which to overlay and portray a character in rerum natura. Mainly, what we don’t care about is the model or the actor, as much as what is overlayed onto them.

I really dig the idea of Flint from TOS. He should be the first ever (and only ever!) six-skill crew member in the game and should have pretty much every trait except the species ones. To make him more manageable, though, and consistent with everyone else, I think maybe CMD/ENG/MED, if only because it's such a rare combination. Like his predecessors, his proficiency ranges should be tops. Traits:

I don’t want my money going to an avowed child molester. Shatner being a jerk or Nichols being a drug user aren’t even close to being the same thing.

Hence why royalty avoidance/circumvention is a completely viable option. I do personally want Decker in my game since he was pretty pivotal in TMP. But I am absolutely fine with that Decker not having to be Collins.
Was Decker pivotal? Yes. Was Collins’ specific portrayal of him groundbreaking? No. Anyone could have played Decker and the movie wouldn’t have turned out much different. So that’s why for me if we get a generic non-Collins faced Decker, I’m perfectly fine. Collins doesn’t make Decker, the character is a full concept outside of his portrayal.

That may sound a bit cynical but at the end of the day it makes no difference except that in one scenario you get a card and in another you don't.

Ehh, they are going to make a character one way or another. If they have a choice between a politically neutral and toxic one, there's not a lot of incentive for them to go for the toxic one.
Now that I've finally got a Caretaker, I'm selfishly fine with a new Gauntlet prize
Joking aside, I'm not in a rush for a new 5* prize, but if there was one put me down for Flint.
He'd be a real beast, with three high stats (SCI/ENG/CMD) and proficiencies to reflect centuries of being a genius. He'd also set a new record in the number of traits!
Can they make Caretaker a bit easier to get first? I got one Caretaker like a month after first playing, and have gotten nothing else since then and I play gauntlet every day.
I'd like a return of Locutus--I started playing just around the time he was removed, and I'm sure there must be many other players who never had a chance to get him either. (I know, you can still get him, but 20,000 gauntlet rounds is a lot...) I also only ever got one Guinan, so wouldn't mind her coming back either.
Oh, and if we're wishing freely, wouldn't it be great if they put them both back, and then you could get a behold with Locutus, Guinan and the Caretaker and you can pick whichever one you haven't got?

I've been holding out hope they'll rotate the "retired" gauntlet characters into the honor hall.

This, or extending the gauntlet achievement with each of them as a reward.

That would work, but I worry about what the reward levels would be. 20,000 rounds is a lot...if the rewards beyond that are more than, say, 5,000 rounds apart it would be ridiculous for all but the most dedicated of gauntleteers to try and get them.

Actually that's a perfect suggestion, I'm going to add her to the main post body.
But for this reply, I'll add more detail.
Number One (TOS: CMD, SCI, SEC)
Bases (at 5*): CMD 903, SCI 883, SEC 416
Proficiencies (at Lv.100): SCI (353-912), CMD (171-600), SEC (138-424)
Voyage Averages (at 5*): SCI ~1516, CMD ~1289, SEC ~697
Traits: Human, Starfleet, Federation, Tactician, Pilot, Romantic, Resourceful, Desperate
