I am surprised the top 1000 is so high. With all the backlash over there being a new mega and Etana being the mega legendary, I thought people might be a bit more sluggish with this event. I've dropped about 5-6k chrons and have maintained around 900-1100 rank and it's only day 2.
Admiral of the Haus of GaghGagh, Starbase level 94, we are not accepting members at this time.
Captain of the voyage vessels: Queen of Bashir, Landsknecht, and Sunspear, the first luxury starship cruiseliners.
Amenities include wifi, fully-functioning holodecks, a full-service bar, 3 party decks, a Trill spa, and a business centre.
Fun fact: The ships are propelled by bouncy castle technology.

I think I'm safely above 100K.
Just reached 300K VP so I dropped over 700 super rares.
DB really needs to re-examine this galaxy super rare late dropping issue. VP are turned in at every point in every event except this. They should freeze the build recipes buttons until super rares are claimed.
The phases reset for a reason so super rares especially should not carry over. If you look at faction events, your crew is locked until you claim the VP from the shuttle. It should be no different here as some players carry them over and do not have to deal with the super rare phase reset. This isn't a strategy issue, this is an exception that shouldn't exist.
This is the first event I’ve done where I had all the event crew ready. I got Spock last week and immortalized him the day before event start. In doing so I got 4 Chakotay cards as well and immortalized him and already had Quark immortalized. Of course Etana I had to wait on.
So almost every build yielded a super rare, and after racking up 400k VP I had 960 super rares to turn in. This is the before and after:
Of course after all of that I’m left with one super rare haha.
I ended up burning almost 11k Chrons to level Etana to 100, Cadet Crusher from 80 to 100 and hit the final threshold without cashing in any Super Rares - probably 8k was for the event. I have Quark FE/FF, Spock 1/5 FE, and Etana 2/5 FE once I hit her threshold.
This morning I was sitting at 2200ish, with 350k VP.
Cashed the Super Rares in and ended up at 250ish, with 550k VP (6:45am CDT).
EDIT: Final rank was 442, so lost about 200 places in the last 5ish hours.
In my opinion, the final threshold of a premium 10x portal isn't worth it for most players who can hit it without spending cash for chrons, unless you're chasing the 5*. Newer players aren't likely to have the chron or item stockpile (without planning), and most players who hit it likely got little more than honour out of the pull.
I'm likely to change my strategy as well, instead of doing Galaxy events all at once to threshold and out, do a slow burn of maybe 50-75k every day spread over a couple of sessions to reduce the monotony of clickity-clickity-click building, and aim for the Voyage token. Maybe cash out once I hit the final character tier and see how much I have to make up.
Just finished top 500 after spending somewhere around 12K chrons over the weekend, and i may be in the minority but i actually DO like the new rewards!
- having the late packs and honor gave me something to do all weekend, instead of just peacing out after Friday, yet i still had time to do things over the weekend like go to a holiday party and decorate and watch my football team lose a horrible horrible game to the Cowboys
- TWO free 10 pulls just for spending chrons!!
- a new ENG character who will be one of my top 5 even at 1/5 (sphere builder) AND another ENG who will also make top 5 once she gets more stars (Etana)
- a new Chakotay who is getting frozen as soon as he's done, plus the final 3 stars I needed on that Quark, so a 1/4 and an empty slot turn into two ENG in my top 5 and at least two ENG 4/4s i can freeze instead.
all in all, i would say DB actually DID BETTER, at least for me...
Aside from building a single recipe as the event started, I couldn't really commit any time until the last 24-hours. I activated a supply kit and spent about 7k chrons to clear thresholds, fully equip 5* Etana Jol, and wound up finishing inside the top-1500 (my target was top-2000 to ff Chakotay).
This galaxy event wasn't bad, but I can't speak to the level of competition around the 1k point in the rankings. I wasn't too worries about getting a 1/5* sphere builder, since next event is a hybrid and I have lots of good pilots.

Looks like people want Sphere builder
Week 3 is the skirmish/expedition. We still have the faction/galaxy to slog through next week.
You probably should have waited until the phase change if you planned on playing Sunday and Monday.
REALLY hoping I won't have to. As long as I can hang on to get 3 copies of Chakotay, I accomplished what I needed to accomplish.

That's reasonable. 600k would surely get you top 1k.
