Sorry people, I'm not really having a go at you. It's just that every time I see a post asking for a crew slot sale I hear the Finding Nemo seagulls going Mine? Mine? Mine?. Don't mean to offend, and once heard in your head can never be unheard.
The real issue is 3k dil for 5 slots. Every event adds at least 1 new crew, mostly 2. So every 2 to 3 weeks is 3k in dil costs to just keep up. The only time slots are not stupid expensive is a slot sale.
@Kanon - I wrote a thread in the Ready Room subforum about crew dismissal decisions that you might find helpful. It includes a flowchart made by @Data1001!

Interestingly, every time I see a post criticizing people asking for slots, I hear that scene from A Christmas Carol where Scrooge asks if all the prisons and workhouses have closed, and that people who would rather die than go to either “had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."
Another day, another non sale, and another day myself and many others keep our wallets closed. That Christmas money is starting to twitch, will need to be spent elsewhere perhaps...

TBH, the dil deal me and a fleet mate got today is pretty interesting. Got 5600 dils (+ VIP bonus) for less than 23 euros. It usually costs more than 75 euros. I'll be able to take more slots when they'll go on sale.

I’ve been fortunate enough to see him do his one man theatrical version a few times - he really shines doing all the roles.

Yea that is a pretty solid deal, never seen that one.

Good point about being able to buy slots.
I remember, now that you mention slots, that we had a dil sale before when slots were on sale. But I am not sure when , think time before last crew slot sale.
Every time I think about buying a new monthly card, I remember that anything I buy with it will likely just be wasted because of lack of crew slots. Guess DB doesn't want me to spend any money.

You could just save that monthly dil up and buy more crew slots...

As i stated previously, crew slots are way too expensive. It is like the chron or credit deals in absurdity. At least the crew slots give a permanent benefit, but still vastly overpriced.
1 monthly card = 5 slots. Most events add 2 new crew. So lets say 6 to 8 new crew per month. You get into a situation quickly where you need to freeze crew that maybe you didn't want to.

He probably was talking about slots sales. 1 monthly card = 10 slots

Maybe, but I think he was suggesting the poster buy the card and use it for slots regardless of a sale.

Correct. I agree that slots are vastly overpriced, but the option to save up and buy them is still there.
There is also always the option of sitting out events.

I never advocate people spend on crappy deals. That only encourages more bad deals. They really should do away with crew space. I imagine lots of people would actually buy packs that do not currently.
but old player remember in 1 year when u air lock crew is give only legendary training when is added the honor is big + for the people dont have space give Honor u can buy crew or citation something can be cool to add in honor buying crew slot, the game is based to keep the best crew or the one u like the most and to freeze each week the crew u have in reward the other crew u have is for honor at me point i started the air lock some of me 3/4 crew because i have to many of these and keep only the one i like or the one whit great stat for voyage or shuttle mission away . for me what i wana is the 5 free crew slot u got normaly each year wishing tomorow the free crew slot apear and is not tomorow maybe for the 1 day of the year but if u dont have this year the free crew slot i know when is the aniversary in febrary if i remember corectly is give us 5 crew slot again for the sale at 50 % i think i dont going to take it

Yes, which is what I did. But 3k Dil for 5 slots that will disappear in a second by new crew is still too overpriced. I was willing to do 3k for 10 slots with a sale, but not 3k for 5 slots. So now I'll just sit on the Dil and do nothing with it.
Now I am sure everyone can debate this issue of crew slots any way they want, but I think everyone is in agreement that 3K dilithium for 5 crew slots is ridiculously expensive. So considering that 50% crew slot sales only make this excessive price barely acceptable, this lack of any holiday sale feels like a slap in the face...
So 8 days ago, DB offered 2 "For Honor" specials that exchanged Honor for 1 or 10x Premium Packs which looked especially attractive to F2P, monthly card, and/or limited spenders who grinded away to accumulate Honor. But now as that first round of Premium Packs(s) approaches it 7-day automatic dismissal deadline for DB not to offer any sort of crew slot sale feels almost mean-spirited when we should be celebrating joyous Holiday times. Offering special deals for more crew without providing any special deals to increase crew capacity is definitely not nice and not going to increase players' desire to spend more when this feels like more greed.
Of course, we can discuss better crew planning and management until we are blue in the face, but no one is arguing that buying extra crew slots is cheap so expecting a Holiday sale on crew slots is not unreasonable at all.

I've played a few different games around Christmas, and this one is by far the most frugal when it comes to holiday gifts
While I can understand its philosophy, DB has hurt itself by not announcing sales/promotions in advance. Given that there was a sale around last Christmas and that we are "due" for one (based on sales 3 months apart in June and September, December would be next), it wasn't unreasonable to expect one. Had DB come out and said "we are not planning on doing a crew slot sale at this time", people still would have complained, but it would have eliminated the anticipation and grumbling of waiting for an announcement that never was going to come (and I say this as someone who thought that maybe - outside of Elusive Treasures - there wasn't much of Black Friday offer because they were saving for Cyber Monday, which also produced bupkis). Or if they had announced earlier this month that "we will ring in the New Year with a 50% crew slot sale from January 1 to January 8", people still would have complained about having to wait (and how it didn't fit in with the honor promotions) but would at least have a firm target in mind.

Eddington is basically useless. Daystrom is good for various reasons like gauntlet and collections.
Db must be in league with the grinch!

I really thought with discovery megaevent the crew slot sale would happen.
Never, as far as I can recall. But it's fully worth it at full price if you want to have any chance at ranking well in Faction events.
