Bit disappointed she doesn't have a sound clip.

I dont remember any crew having a sound quote since Senator Vreenak and it was a rarity for crew to have a sound quote when he got it.

Ya, if they couldn't be bothered to do "Time's up" for Desperate Janeway, I think it's safe to say we're done with sound clips.
  • I can still be disappointed can't I? She has such a soothing voice.

I don't need Mirror Geordi La Forge, so if I push for Navaar and fall short, I won't have much of a consolation prize. That's become my default approach to every event.
Yeah. I'm hovering right under 1500 at the moment, which makes it tempting to push for this. I need CMD & SCI, and more importantly I enjoyed seeing the actress play a character so different from Tora Ziyal.

But I've already FFed Geordi, and I just don't have enough applicable characters to push hard. At 40k VP I'm already having to send some shuttles out at 70%. I don't mind running tons of Borg or Federation shuttles, so I may continue after clearing threshold. But I'm not going to race to hit that early.
Six degrees in Inter-species Veterinary Medicine. Treating all manner of critters, from Tribbles to Humans.

If participating on the forum these last three years has taught me anything, it's that you can always be disappointed.

A bit harsh. My history on these forums shows I, at least, post 50% positive posts!

I didn't realise expressing mild disappointment was so negative. I just like the actors voice is all.

"Hey 'John', I'm so disappointed there isn't more peace in the world"
"Well if you look at it objectively Osiris, there hasn't been world peace in a long time. Not since Senator Vreenak! And they didn't even bother with it when Janeway was on television."

I'm pretty sure Travis was actually giving you full permission to be disappointed. Rather than singling you specifically out for negative posts, I read it as him pointing out the general trend of negativity on the forum.

@robownage is correct about my intention, @[ING:ENL] OsirisSonOfGeb. "You" was a general, not a singular. Sorry for any confusion or making you feel picked on!

No problem. I presumed "you" was aimed at me as I would have used "one" to indicate the general forum populace. I realise that not everyone likes to use such a formal pronoun and that different nationalities speak differently despite a shared language, so perhaps I shouldn't have leapt to an incorrect conclusion.

    Thanks for the clarification.

    And LLAP. :)

*and apologies to Shan for the thread derailment.
  • Threshold got me a begold with all-new choices of Captain Pike, Annorax, and Tempted Data.
Didn't particularly need any of them, so Tempted Data makes a nice counter-point to my emotion chip data

I got three 4* beholds, but only one had a card I could use. Still better than most pulls.

And not having "Khan!" for Wrathful Kirk tied it up with a bow.

I had forgotten about Wrathful Kirk not having the KHAN quote, and now I'm mad all over again. I mean...it's arguably THE biggest Star Trek quote ever, and they couldn't give him the quote in game.

I didn’t see a threshold pulls topic and figured there wasn’t much point to starting one now...in any case, I am quite happy with the results: Timicin being one step closer to completion.

That was the first time in a long while I was able to get top 1000 without shuttle rentals...perhaps most people's stockpiles were depleted after so many factions in a row?

Hmm...I didn’t go for anything but thresholds and still ended up where I usually do when I hold off on a full Faction event (2634th place this time)...maybe people were more bunched up in the 1500-2500 range?
  • I ended up 1564. One or two fewer fails...

Ended 1687 because I was busy at work all afternoon and could not collect my last round of shuttles. Pretty sure they would have put me back into the Top 1500 - and otherwise I could have done one more round of 1hr shuttles to make sure.

Not mad, but a waste of boosters otherwise, and disappointing to miss the gold. Good reminder to not bother with events beyond threshold rewards, though, as they just don't mesh with workdays.

My Janeway and La Forge variants were not sufficient for this. I could not use shorteners or staff rental shuttles. 2223rd is ok under these circumstances.

    Woo, rank 30!

...I am never doing that again.

I mean it wasn't so bad I guess, I just thought it'd be nice to have Green Ziyal but I wanted to save my dilithium for Craft when his pack is out in two weeks (since there's no way I can be bothered to rank high for him with the galaxy component of the event), and I had all those extra shuttle tokens I'd never used just lying around, and for once I didn't have anything planned over the weekend where I'd have been wasting tokens and boosts but having shuttles sitting around idle because I'm not refreshing them. Okay once, but not something to make a habit of.

    Shazam! Kudos, @Kaitee!
