I really could, of course, have used an Honor Sale this past weekend that passed recently.

How DARE you steer this thread back on subject! lol :)

Ikr, I was just about to post that this thread was gonna get closed cause it was massively derailed. But in one comment @Shy Khan managed to rerail (is that even a word?) it.

Also i wouldn't doubt someone will say I ended that sentence with a preposition which is a grammer no no XD

Kudos to the brilliant sentence construction mocking at the derailers and at the same time rerailing contentwise. Well done!

As a trained linguist who is paradoxically a stickler for good grammar, the last page of this thread brought me much joy during my morning read of the forums.

    Carry on.

I don't know, if I went to the home of a three star Michelin chef and they could not even make mashed potatoes, it would really cause me to question the competency of all chefs. Or if a mechanic could not change the oil in their own car. Or a plumber who could not fix their own sink. Or a gardener who could not figure out how to grow lettuce in their garden. Or history teacher who has never heard of Alexander the Great.

    You get the idea.

I get that idea 100% - my daughter’s Cultures teacher (who is admittedly really a Spanish teacher rather than a history teacher) had never heard of the Salem Witch Trials...a bunch of 13-14 year old students knew about it but the teacher didn’t. And Wisconsin is supposed to be one of the toughest when it comes to getting a teacher’s license, too.

Edit: almost forgot to stay on topic. To invert the thread title, would we possibly see one of those deals this week where honor is sold alongside dil/chrons/credits? I think it has been quite a while since the last one, if memory serves.
  • Had a bunch of honor saved (still do) and got bored so I spent for a beGold. The intent was to add a star to someone but Dehner was an option (wanted her for a while) so new character to take up a slot for all eternity :)

Pretty sure the only time I've ever seen honor on sale were those packs that gave you 1500 for $5. Almost definitely the worst deal in the game, and indicative of a valuation of honor that I can barely comprehend.

All this talk about "words and language change" but I haven't seen an example of grammar or sentence structure changing. I'm all for new words and phrases. I don't like when definitions change, but I understand that it happens. Typos are a mild annoyance, but very understandable. I don't type perfectly and I understand that correcting small errors isn't always worth the time. But typing a preposition where a verb is needed due to ignorance of the language... there's a problem. It could be laziness. It could be a poor educational system. Either way, it's annoying.

    Of you tried decaf?

Or the grammar structure is currently evolving.

  • I was still hoping for some kind of honor sale or honor offer for today, but I guess that at this point it's almost certainly not happening :(

Given the Christmas Day influx of Honor from the Achievements “glitch”, I would not be surprised if that does occur. 🖖

I am going to wait until after convergence day now. If there is nothing interesting for me, then I will hit a spending spree in February

The announcement established they're running stuff through then:
    Daily limited-time offers!
Log in every day to discover a new limited-time offer. Each offer will go live around noon ET (17:00 UTC) and will only be available for 22 hours so make sure to take advantage of it before it goes away.
Please note that the last offer will go live on Monday, December 30.
  • I think our "Bonus" honor "Glitch" more than makes up for a sale. I got 2 Begolds and finally bought Kahless.
I want to become a Dilionaire...

The fact that people are holding these enormous stashes of honor is possibly why we don't have new honor hall crew.
Anyway, Happy Holidays everyone (and a Merry Christmas to those for whom that is also a thing)!

The reason ppl r hoarding honor is the exact opposite of this statement. The anticipation of new honor hall crew And sale is why ppl save to buy then cite. Most hoarders have already purchased the current crew, or dont want them, and are waiting for something new to spend it on.
The honor balance or “un-balanced” system for dismissal vs purchase is so low that it does not affect any monetary upside for DB to Hold off on honor sale, or honor hall upgraded/new crew.
