I got Jake in his first run, and for a little while he was someone I considered adding citations to. But I had other priorities at the time, and 1/5 Jake rapidly fell off the "worth citing" list. I'll be happy to add a star to him (assuming I get there), but he's lost his luster for me. He's decent though, depending on a player's roster.

For clarity, I was not mocking EITHER show. I love all the Star Treks. I was just making a joke about how far technology has come in the TV industry since the 1960s. For instance, those see-through computer screens that were everywhere in season one of Disco? They were the first five made by the company that makes them. Put in the show for awareness purposes and money.
Let's not forget that a 1960s book predicted that the world population would be double what could be sustained by the agriculture infrastructure by 1999.
And the 1973 movie adapted from it went even further. Just a couple years from now, the most popular food item will be green ration crackers that are only available on Tuesdays. And are made from Long Pig.......
Book, movie, and television predictions are always way off. 1984, well 1984 was nothing like that. 2001 and 2010 were not that advanced in reality either. They are always hundreds of years too optimistic

As for the spacesuits, the ones made in 1960s were the best they could do. I'm sure that the budget was a big constraint. TV shows only have so much money to spend each production on costuming and other stuff. And a sci-fi show has a lot of expensive stuff to do on a budget. The "real world" reason that a Shuttle could not rescue Sulu and friends from Alfa 177 was that they did not have a Shuttle model until AMT built them one in exchange for model marketing rights. IIRC

Eh, you might be being a bit harsh on the writers. From the perspective of someone from say, 1929, a manned mission to the moon by 1969 was ludicrous. So I could see making optimistic predictions that similar great leaps forward in space and exploration could be accomplished in the decades to follow the 60s. It hasn’t. They’ve made incremental improvements, but nothing completely groundbreaking.
Instead, technology and science has leapt forward into entirely new, unanticipated areas like computing and communications.
So in some areas the improvement was grossly overestimated, but in other ways it wasn’t. So it seems to me that the writers correctly identified there would be mind boggling improvements, the likes of which could barely be conceived at the time. They just got the specific improvements wrong.
woohoo EV Chekov AND he's a 4/4, thanks Shan...any guesses how many Ceti Eels he will need?
Alas, it's a Faction event so he'll only be 3/4.
true but that is what the campaign cite and/or recap packs are for
I've passed on event packs this month, to instead take my chances on the recap packs. I'll only be able to use 3/8 of the 4*'s, but this also kept me from dipping into my dilithium during December in case some kind of deal popped up. So far, it's looking like I ought to have just chanced the event packs.
Yeah , this will be my first Threshold and out event in 2-3 years... i don't want that "thing" in my roster... the art is horrible! also not a fan of Jake...

I liked Jake, he set goals for himself and did everything he could to accomplish those goals. When his father disappeared in an engineering accident Jake devoted his whole life to saving his father and did so with his dying breath. He wanted to be a writer and did everything he could to learn writing from that alien lady that inspires great works. When he wanted to become a war correspondent he did everything to accomplish that goal including going into a war zone with Dr. Bashir. Jake so wanted to be truthful in his writing that he wrote of his own cowardice at great cost to himself. Furthering his war correspondent role further he stayed behind when the Federation evacuated Deep Space Nine even though it very easily could have led to his arrest. He helped to liberate DS9 even though it very easily could have led to his death. He also cared enough about his father and his happiness to introduce him to Kasidy Yates who became Ben Sisko’s wife and Jake was there for Kasidy when his father went away. Also, don’t forget when Nog was pulled out of school and Jake helped him to learn to read and Jakes trying to help Nog see how dangerous Red Squadron was and to stop them from their hazardous and ill-advised mission.

I predicted Wrathful Chekov, but it looks like he's holding the Botany Bay belt, during the moment he's figuring it all out. You know, when he watched season one on TV before being cast on the show.

Pretty sure it’s this moment: when khan takes of his mask and Chekov (inexplicably) recognizes him.
I think that the implication they were going for was that Chekov, like Sulu, had served on the Enterprise in another area before becoming bridge crew. It is one of those"plot holes" that could have been fixed quite easily with a couple of lines of dialog.
Disappointed it's not the TOS style, but I get it. TWOK is super popular and it's an important moment in the movie, and one of Chekov's more notable scenes overall. Walter Koenig has explained why Khan recognized Chekov.

1984 was written in 1948. All he did was flip the last two digits. Not really trying to say this could happen in 1984.

I view it as reverse history - a program today about the stone age will look a lot more advanced than one done in the 60's, so why wouldn't one where the 'history' is actually the future?
I tend to dislike the explaining things away in-series, as it is effectively breaking the fourth wall. Leave that to Deadpool and Ambush Bug.

I've been farming earwigs from the Augments, since the announcement. Just in case. I would have been happy with either one.
Chekov looks good.
He does. As I said, either version would be fine with me. Maybe a new 2 🌟 or 3 🌟 in the rewards of the TOS version. Make all of us happy!!!!!!!
Walter said back in the 80's, that Chekov was in trouble that week when Khan was on the ship, and on Latrine duty in the lower decks. He bumped into Khan and Khan asked for his name.

Got mine from a Merit Pull, IIRC
I remember liking him when he came out. I forget why I didn't get him the first time. I took a look at him now and he looks like an easy pass. Guess he's probably a victim of stat creep.
One of the best war story episodes of any sci fi show.

But that means I can justify a pack pull, and maybe get a Kirk, but probably get a Harris.
