It seems like we're trading the faction winning bonus for a community reward. Not that I'm complaining, I think it's a good change, but some communication around it would have been nice.

No, that is a typo.
Sorry about that, fixing now.
Can I just put it out there that I would be super down for that change?
For clarity, I was not mocking EITHER show. I love all the Star Treks. I was just making a joke about how far technology has come in the TV industry since the 1960s. For instance, those see-through computer screens that were everywhere in season one of Disco? They were the first five made by the company that makes them. Put in the show for awareness purposes and money.
Let's not forget that a 1960s book predicted that the world population would be double what could be sustained by the agriculture infrastructure by 1999.
And the 1973 movie adapted from it went even further. Just a couple years from now, the most popular food item will be green ration crackers that are only available on Tuesdays. And are made from Long Pig.......
Book, movie, and television predictions are always way off. 1984, well 1984 was nothing like that. 2001 and 2010 were not that advanced in reality either. They are always hundreds of years too optimistic
1984 was written in 1948. All he did was flip the last two digits. Not really trying to say this could happen in 1984.
I don’t believe that. I believe he was saying this is what 1984 will be like
But...but... Oceania has always been at war with East Asia

WaldoMag is correct, the year it was set in and title changed prior to publication, and 1984 was chosen as it was written in 1948 and the publisher felt it was more commercially sellable. The 80's was picked as it wasn't too soon to be fanciful, yet just far enough in the future to act as a warning.
Walter said back in the 80's, that Chekov was in trouble that week when Khan was on the ship, and on Latrine duty in the lower decks. He bumped into Khan and Khan asked for his name.
There ya go, one plot hole filled.
A bit of a tweak, and we've got a great Short Trek that consists of the most uncomfortable urinal scene ever.
Khan, relieving himself, and in runs Chekov, desperate. He breaks the Urinal Prime Directive and takes the one next to Khan rather than leaving one free between. In his haste, there is a splash. Khan turns, face full of incredulity and disgust. Chekov smiles and shrugs.
Khan looks down, Chekov smiles again "ve do things bigger in Russia!" Khan winces and looks heavenwards, pained.
It finishes with Chekov leaving - not having washed his hands to Khans utter disgust - and Khan asking security who that disgusting little man was.
It‘s a waste anyway, they do nothing for 99,99% of players. Immo and freeze, plus plenty of wasted great artwork lately, that would have been perfect for an SR or Legendary crew version.

Brainless Spock deserved to be Legendary. For better or worse, ya gotta admit he is. No one would have wanted a 1/5 Brainless Spock, but no one really wanted "Spock's Brain", either.

New 2 🌟 s are quick and easy to Immo for us established players, and nice for newbies to start building up their roster.

There's a Greg Cox series that fills in the gaps about Khan's origins in the nineties (and why we never heard about it) and his exile on Ceti Alpha - great read. It also explains the Chekov paradox - he was a lower decks security guard who helped exile Khan and his followers, iirc.

Between the LTO and four pack pulls, my 2/5 Wrathful Kirk is now FF - my 500th immortal, and so paid back 750 dil from the pack pulls.
Same - taking Kirk from 2/5* to 5/5* was pretty awesome. A bonus third star for TP Chakotay was a cherry on top of a nice Christmas sundae.
