Finally got my fist copy of Red Angel (from finishing #2 just now). I was starting to wonder why Armus loved me so much, as I have had 3 copies of the oil slick since Red Angel showed up.
i got my 1st angel yesterday from 5th crate in rank15. happy someone kicked me out top 10 in last minutes.
had 1guinan before. no armusses, caretakers or locusts. people Co. planing of only getting these should think about newer people without the good crew who get nothing lol. even the 100th armus would be worth honor for the next honor sale.
I concentrate on streaks. not to maximize chance if special crew but for he merits and chrons. chrons help you FE crew in skirmishes. merits get you faction items and if a lot merrit pulls. special crew is a bonus.
but imo red angel as gauntlet eer is overrated. I kick her **tsk tsk** most of the time with non gauntlet crew. I want her for voyages.
Guinan seems to be the best pure gauntlet crew. she seems to be unbeatable often.
It's been over a year since I had a Gauntlet Legendary drop, but I just got my first Caretaker from a 15 streak. Still no Red Angel. For anyone trying the location strategy, I was parked at the Federation Faction location (Earth).
I tried all the strategies, here's the one that finally worked for me:
Stop worrying about a decent rank. I try to finish 11th-15th, but don't stress about it because you probably won't get anything useful anyway. I went for 12 and 15 streaks. If I got a 15 streak, I broke it and started it all over again. Look for the easiest targets in the +10 trophies range. Single skill, lowest proficiencies. And be willing to spend some merits on getting better targets.
I know how frustrating it is hunting for her. This is the strategy that finally worked for me. Hope it helps you too.
P.S. Not sure if location matters or not, but I started bouncing around the different factions. S31, Federation, Augments, Klingon, etc. She dropped at Augments.
No Red Angel but oddly I’ve gotten a Guinan and an Armus so who knows 🤷🏻♂️

Something told me tonight to go ahead and make a push for first. After seeing the 490 packs today, and not wanting either, I decided to use some dilithium for an outside chance at getting banjo man.
It occurred to me to count the number of times I revived my Locutus to battle a mirror Locutus at the top. For the record, out of 16 mirror matches, my Locutus won twice. As others here have lamented, I call shennanigans.
BUT, I did end up finishing first. And I finally got... the Red Angel. Which is fine, I didn’t have her... but what gives banjo man? I’m tired of limping my way through ENG gauntlets. I suppose that one time I said I hated bluegrass stem cell cloning parties is going to haunt me forever.
It occurred to me to count the number of times I revived my Locutus to battle a mirror Locutus at the top. For the record, out of 16 mirror matches, my Locutus won twice. As others here have lamented, I call shennanigans.
Ha! I was out of merits, and ended up with five mirror matches - and won all five! Not the first time I've had some lucky last-minute streaks - but the "shenanigans" psychology has been explained here ad nauseum, so it doesn't seem worth going over it again.
Came second, and not only did I get a 60-chron drop, but also got four drops of amazing blue items! I'd had my fingers crossed for rare three-star Sensors for some time now, and my luck was in - TWO rare Sensors in a single drop!

And, tbh, I hear you on being excited about blue items. Some items are a total pain in the a** to acquire if you happen to lack the chrons (or the will) to get them. (2-5* Psychological Holoprograms, anyone...)
Well now i got another Locutus but still no red angel. I’ve been getting good rng luck on the old cards lately and I don’t even play gauntlet consistently, maybe a couple or three times a week. I like to get in right before cutoff so I only have a day to do it.
I got 2 gauntlet legendary(Red Angel and Locutus) crew within 7 days by NOT playing. Joined gauntlet, didn t play a single match, ranked last place,
got cheapest box...bang.....sick RNG. 😆🙈
So my advice:
Always make sure ur in a gauntlet, regardless if u play it or not.
Yeah i know odds are soooo small...but not trying at all means 0% chance. 🤗
I've picked up four Red Angels in the last eight days. Three from top-three finishes and one from a six-streak. It's been easier to walk into a top-three finishes again in the last month or so, I'm guessing partly because of the declining player numbers and partly because enough people have gotten Red Angels and are now being less competitive again.
4/5 to 8/5 in eight days. If this streak continues, I'll have her immortalized four times over by December.

Despite not playing in the last ~9 hours, somehow came third, and got Caretaker #20 and Red Angel #4! \o/
That's my third double-legendary Gauntlet finish, and it makes a nice change as the last two both gave Locutus pairs.
