Shan can you give an update on the planned update to the reward structure? This is a great example of why it is needed. I can participate heavily in this event but it is so long and will cost a lot just to rank decently.
This is a good point. With a 5-day Galaxy, and post-Voyage chron bump I think it's safe to say that we're going to blow the threshold rewards even more out if the water than usual. And we've been hitting the top community reward lately within like 12 hours from start.
Please consider adding some new tiers.
I don’t see why the event would start Wednesday. That means we’re still burdened by this game with an active event on thanksgiving. Shouldn’t it be starting Friday instead? And preferably only last 3 days. That would be ideal. DB I hope you’re taking notes 📝.
With a Shuttle event I could understand that reasoning. With a Galaxy not. Cause although resource eating they are very flexible with the time frame. You can play it on your terms. The deciding factor is how well you prefarmed certain items and how many chrons you have in "the backhand". Also you should never feel burdened by a game/an event. If you have time and want to play do. If not not...
1) Kudos to DB for listening to the player base on some of the more frequent character request.
2) Jeers to the longer Galaxy event, especially it being on the holiday. You want your employees to go be with family, but encourage tournament gameplay during. That's pretty Ferengi.
wonder if Honey Bare is going to have an obligatory new unique trait like all recent galaxy 5* rewards and what it could be. I'll have to go back and rewatch that episode to get an inkling.
Shan, just curious. With this event starting early, does it mean that the "winning faction" reward duration from the current event will be truncated? Or will they go through Thursday as usual, just running over into the new event?
Does this help everyone playing who's not in the United Federation of States? Because if so, I'm all for it. Events for me, start and finish at 4am which puts me at a major disadvantage. But if all US players are busy cooking pumpkins or whatever I may find I stand a better chance at the finish
I assume it starts early so they can make sure it's working and head out on holidays themselves. Only if an error happens does someone on call pop in. The ticket people are not DB employees so their contracted to always be there. I personally will do some pulls but galaxies these days are like expeditions with all the ways to get chronitons and not worth it.

I disagree, It’s true that you have more flexibility with galaxy events, but if you’re being competitive there is still a lot of playing to be done to keep your edge. Cadet missions, gauntlet every 4hrs, voyages every 2hrs, running ads etc. and with the increased resources voyages provide it can take some time to burn through a stack of chrons especially with a kit active. I still say events on holidays are lame. Holidays are for family. Not for greasing someones pockets.
Adding a day to an event is not an part of the solution, it is part of the problem.
I really enjoy this game and spend cash now and then in packs but my first reaction to yet another galaxy event, with an extra day was burn out, time to put away the game for a while and just chill.
Constructive feedback, don't add days to events, taking a day off, totally ok. Repeating the same two event types = overkill and burn out of player base. Please add another type of event to refresh things a bit. Preferably more than one type of event. I know it probably doesn't make financially sense for you guys and you have my understanding, but honestly; I wouldn't mind a week or month without events, it's starting to feel that between voyages and events there is never time to focus on levelling my characters. You can still release packs, but a break from events is not a bad thing now and then.
If you needed to adjust, I would've preferred a three day event in all honesty. For a Galaxy, that's enough. Four days is already pushing the limits of endurance, five days is just warp ten insanity. We'll be playing events 24/7 sometime next year at this rate.
Level 99. Latest Immortal (957): Chancellor Gowron - October 2023.
MED-SCI-ENG, pretty please? Honeybear Jadzia looks cute, by the way. But what I don't like is 5 days of Galaxy ... 4 days (any event type) is already too long (2 or 3 days would be much better because there's an event every single week) ... but 5 days? Dearie me ...
"Everything about the Jem'Hadar is lethal!" - Eris (ST-DS9 Episode 2x26 "The Jem'Hadar")
Note the start & end dates everyone. Including Wednesday & Monday, that's 6 days not 5.
You don't include zero when you count to five, do you?
I would bring back Count von Count from Sesame Street here, but let's just break it down instead...
0 to 1 / Wednesday to Thursday = 1 total
1 to 2 / Thursday to Friday = 2 total
2 to 3 / Friday to Saturday = 3 total
3 to 4 / Saturday to Sunday = 4 total
4 to 5 / Sunday to Monday = 5 total
(The only way it would be six days would be if it ran for all 24 hours of Wednesday and all 24 hours of Monday.)
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing. ~ Data, ST:TNG "Haven"
I wonder if DB is counting on more of us deciding to punt on galaxy events and try for the characters in the event-related packs.
I certainly have no chance at top 1000 during a 5-day galaxy event when I am going to be traveling and can't play as much. Under normal circumstances I would be tempted to pull for Dax, but I blew my crystal load trying for Defensive Phlox and only getting Satos and Tuckers.
What ever happened to expedition events? For whatever reason, I did alright in those, I guess all the clicking didn't bother me as much as other people.
Please consider adding new event types or at least throw us an expedition once in awhile.
5 Days of wasted Chronos!! Why DB, Why!! A hybrid would have been better and less frustrating..
Click Click Click Warp Warp Warp etc. etc. *Yawn*
Dax Yay, 5 day Galaxy bore-fest, Boo!!
Maybe its just an attempt to get us all to by an event pack to avoid the tedium!
Jim
I agree with a lot of this, but look at it differently. DB is running a tedious event and giving me added incentive to spend the holiday with my family. Shame I won't get Dax, but kudos to DB on the timing!

I still say events on holidays are lame. Holidays are for family. Not for greasing someones pockets.
That's your choice to make. Choose family over the game. Others can make their own choice, including those who don't celebrate US Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, DB staff can also choose their families by not having to work on Thursday or Friday.
I don't often comment, but I really want to add to the voices saying an extra day to a tedious, resource intensive galaxy grind event is too much. DB, please take time off and be with your families, but don't extend the event, streamline it by cutting it short one day instead.
Alternately There are many people here who ask for weekends without events (what that says about the fun factor of events I hope is not lost), so why not consider simply not running events on holidays and instead make special offers in the portal to continue generating revenue.
Either way, if some people are speaking out here on the forum, know there are many more out there that are thinking the same thing and others that are just quietly walking away...

He said the bonus for the CURRENT event.. you know the faction one we are running right now. He's asking (and I concur on the question) will the bonus be truncated from the event that's currently running when this new Hoilday Galaxy drops.

Captain Proton Paris
Arachnia Janeway
The President of Earth
Doctor Chaotica
All of these crew fit the theme of the Event Crew perfectly (Duchamp and Honey Bare from Our Man Bashir, and Kim for the Captain Proton episodes).... I would absolutely love the event crew info before Tuesday for this event. So many possibilities

I wouldn't count on any of those characters counting. The only times they have done blanket groups like that has been for mega events and events where event crew is tiny.
By my count, we already have 18 event characters that are 4*+ (not including the 3 featured crew in the event). Given how they have approached things in the past, I doubt they'd up the featured crew size by 50% for no real reason.

Ezri Daxen (if they count...they usually do)
Mirror Ezri Tigan
Waitress Ezri
Other Weird One (pretty sure he'll count)
Zhian'Tara Odo
Harry Kims
Rogue Harry Kim
Beowulf Kim
Worfs
Ba'ku Worf
Civil War Worf
Defiant Commander Worf
Sheriff Worf
Mirror Regent Worf
Protomorphosis Worf

Most likely... it really depends on the event story. This is the first time that I can think of that so many of the crew from those specific episodes are out with the event crew being from those exact episodes. Causing me some pause.
Either way, I'm good. For galaxy, you don't need that many crew in the first place. You just need the right crew with the right traits. I'm just looking for a reason to level my Garak.

Probably Sci primary as she's a geologist, then probably Dip since she's the story's love interest. Not sure what, if any, tertiary she'd have.

Thinking to dip into the offer, but I really don't want to invest in this game more until DB address the overal frustrating part of this game

My mistake.
- a good version of Kim to go with the Proton theme
- chance to FF Duchamps
- galaxy being less time consuming than faction
Glad I've been saving chrons...
